RIP Chadwick Boseman... my grandmother and father also died of colon cancer, my dad in his 50's... so it hit pretty close to home when he passed. He was an amazing actor and a good man. He battled his own real life villain with poise and courage.
The scene of Coco where Miquel performs in front of the skeletons DOES have a point actually. Aside from the fact that he wanted to win this contest in order to meet Ernesto, this was also a little character moment for him. He had never performed for an audience before, therefore he didn't consider himself as a real musician. This has his first time, and he pulled it of wonderfull, proving to us and to himself he not only has the talent, but also the guts!
I also think it’s a good bonding moments for him and Hector (especially since it is Hector supporting his music, almost taking a mentor ship role which is why Miguel wanted to know his mysterious grandfather in the first place) and it also serves to reinforce that Hector himself was once a musician who knows how to perform. Not to mention Hector’s reaction at the prospect of Miguel playing Remember Me and the display of how overused such a personal song has become because of Ernesto.
I think the scene in Coco where he's performing was totally tied in to the rest of the movie for two reasons: He's trying to win the contest to get to his (supposedly) great great grandfather's party, and also, he's facing his fear of performing, despite his love of music, and realizes just how talented he is. It gives him a chance to FINALLY open up and just sing and play his guitar. And we as the audience get to see this as well, since up to that moment, since he wasn't allowed to play music, so we never got to see him performing until then.

Drop the + from the logo, and that could very well be a good guess as to this year's Disneycember theme. With some of the original shows and movies mixed in, of course.

Ok! Say it with me now people! Disneycember! Disneycember! *Disneycember!!!!!!* Come on people, we all wanted this from last year and we want one for this year too!!! Please?
I saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on Father's Day, my first Father's Day as a new dad, cried my eyes out over the whole who your real daddy was, and then spent the last 4 years putting my relationship with my father back together. I didn't have a adopted father or stepfather to relate to the yondu part, but it certainly made me want to reconnect with my dad who I hadn't really seen in almost ten years. I completely agree that they did the drama even better while doing the comedy better as well.
The performance scene was meant to help Miguel boost his self-confidence by getting over his stage fright, and the prize for winning the contest was a chance to perform at De La Cruz’s party (which would’ve been a lot easier than trying to sneak in). If Miguel hadn’t done the performance & gained his confidence, he (probably) wouldn’t have been brave enough to perform at the party & gain De La Cruz’s attention. Also, it gave Miguel & Hector more time to bond over their love of music, while also giving Miguel the first person to actually be proud of him for his musical talent. Ergo, the scene wasn’t pointless. 😑
Yea that kinda pissed me off too. The scene of May panicking cuz he was late getting home, the way she try to connect to him too. We only get the uncle Ben died and not the aftermath of him dying. In homecoming, it them trying hard to move from their grief and I love that. Also the whole him trying to impress iron man was him trying to prove that he isn’t just a kid. And to stop treating him like it.
You do realize spider-man is big in popularity in the real world, in universe he has always been a street level hero, and with his spider sense and added physical enhancements from his powers, is why from time to time, he fights along side the avengers
the way you watch movies like pirates or any other slock that has been milked dry is this : sit (theater or home), put it on and just stare at it, you'll have no brainwaves but still enjoyed yourself somehow, you'll forget about the movie very soon and you can watch more of these without getting burned out or remembering what they were about :)
Guys, he’s actually gonna do a few Disney Channel shows and also some popular demand movies for this year, I’m assuming he will finish the marvel movies, with Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home
I would love to see you review the Disney movies you feel would benefit from having a live-action release. Personally I feel Treasure Planet or Atlantis. I feel now that Disney owns Marvel and Star-wars, they surely have the means to make those two movie into box office hits.
Pretty much the only thing I like about Kylo Ren is imagining Anakin seeing him doing all this stuff, believing he's carrying out his grandfather's legacy, and just being heartbroken.
Well...Googling that just sent me down a rabbit hole and now I want to watch both versions just to see how much they changed it for the US audience. I never saw Doogal, wasn't the target audience at the time and heard it was a bad movie. Had no idea it was based on a UK movie that was based on an old french tv show. So interesting to read about.
47:50 apparently Doug hasn’t seen the Wonderful World of Disney film “Ruby Bridges” because that is another great historical film and just a good film in general.
Maybe Disney could have implied a lost romance by simply showing things that Barbosa really desired in The Black Pearl. Apples. Barbosa really wanted to taste an apple again. They could have implies the entire romance by say showing a sepia toned scene with Barbosa watching someone take a bite out of a green apple. They could implies that the objects desired have managed to be unified. Cant remember one without remembering the other. Green apples not typically noticed. With Jack talking at the same time, they could have had practically 'Lady and the Tramp' moment such as the lost romance taking a bite from a green apple and a memory of Barbosa catching this woman who had carried a bushel of apples to market closer to the ships. Barbosa could have caught her almost in a spin into his arms, cradling her skull in his hands or hand, hair tangled in his fingers, brings his mouth toward hers, but she has an apple at her lips taking a bite, and his mouth comes to that apple and he'd bite. It could have implied a powerful romance by even capitalizing on her Spanish heritage by making the spin to a mutual implied passion in say a Passe Double move. Since that story couldn't be anything but implied. They could have found something uniquely Barbosa that is not a piece of eight. Missed opportunities. Shrug.
In regards to the Force Awakens and The Last Jedi are both great, in my opinion. Cant wait to see rise of skywalker. In the last jedi, I loved the scenes with Luke, Rey and Kylo Ren. It helps that Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver , and Mark Hamill deliver the best performances in the whole film.
Chase Hedges I admire your courage for mentioning that you like TLJ, but you might want to go off the grid because I guarantee an angry mob is headed to your house right now. I've had to erase my identity six times so far.
Chase Hedges Also the side-plots with Finn and Poe are both excellent and necessary for the building of their characters as Finn risked their mission in Force Awakens just to be close to Rey as he didn’t know anything about Starkiller Base and needed to go to the Casino planet to care for someone other than himself. Also the codebreaker was basically someone who profited and didn’t care who he worked for and showed who Finn could become and both he and Rose were able to give inspiration and hope to the orphan children. In regards to Poe he needed to learn humility and listening to his leaders. Holdo didn’t have to explain anything to him he was demoted and she didn’t have to explain anything to him.
Deshawn Edwards he’s actually doing a few Disney Channel shows and also some popular demand movies, I’m assuming he will finish the marvel movies, with Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home
It’s November. Why are you pushing your months on us earlier than their normal time frame, Doug?!? It’s not even thanksgiving yet!!! I’m definitely memeing on the older-ish holiday episode. :P Ps; god damn I loved Kiera knightly in the first pirates.
Becasue of the whole thing with the ftc and coppa and youtube new terms he has to push out this content early casue once januray hits boom he could be remvoed for saying the f word or otehr word s that aren't kid freindly materialalso causthe flims he rviews certin ones are aimed to kids thats why its so that way he can get out his planned video in time before the ftc and coppa and youtube hit his channel and psobily fine him 420,000. Or at least that's my best guess.
Kikzo The Demon Jackal oh yeah I was memeing about a video he put out about holidays coming out well before the actual holiday, so that was kinda my joke about it. I get there might be a real reason, but yeah :P
Kikzo The Demon Jackal oh you’re good my friend! Your explanation makes sense too, I’m sure that has a lot to do with it, i was just cracking a little joke that doug made in a previous video. No need to be sorry, friend!
@@cbearslife4950 Ok thanks for saying that makes me feel better! And I'm glad I could help clear things up with my explanation on whwy their pushinng videos I'm happy I could help!
Cars 3 was photorealistic Loved lemonade mouth Loved captain America civil war Love guardians of the galaxy Loved incredibles 1 and 2 Loved nemo and dory, they even managed to out cute the cuteness overload of nemo The color of friendship seemed to be too cliched and expected, didnt know until later that it was based on real events.
It was cooler when Disneycember used to have a theme, but after having done most movies in each media it's kinda natural he'd start doing leftovers and new things for each year... so I expect it to be like that in 2019 also. And that's okay. After all, previous Disneycemebers are basically anthologies for each genere/media, and they were up to date at the time, so he's basically done, he completed his Disney Encyclopedia, now all Doug gotta do is add updates to it.
I hope the following are reviewed this year: Doctor Strange, Ant Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider Man Far From Home, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (could even be next year, since the last season is coming to Disney+ in February 2020).
sO When will he review that creepy animated BFG? The other animated animated BFG. The cartoon that had that creepy scene where the giant eats one of the kids at the end of their super long finger nail? Or did I just imagine that?
We're really complaining we didn't get a third Spiderman origin movie in the space of 15 years? And just 5 years after the last one? We make fun over seeing Batman's parents die over and over again, Marvel was specifically keeping the same thing from happening to Uncle Ben
For The Last Jedi: There's absolutely no reason to tell Poe anything. He has just been demoted by the only person in the high ranks that actually doesn't hate him, and they don't know how the First order is tracking them. It might as well be a spy/saboteur that just a while ago cost you almost all your bombers by disobeying orders. Do you really tell the full strategy to one fighter pilot if you are a general in that case? That's some bad strategy there mate. I really don't get most of the hate Last Jedi gets. Sure it wasn't great. It wasn't as bad as people yell it is either. I can explain at least half of the "plotholes" people say it has by just reading between the lines. Why the bombs drop? The bomber has artificial gravity. They don't start floating after they gain momentum and enter the vacuum. How can Leia fly? Force pull, come on! Ask how she didn't die and I can only answer "force magic?". Put some effort to it people The plot was kinda basic and they added quite a bunch of things to it that didn't really drive the plot at all. You know what? The original trilogy did those too. Sorry to break it to anyone, but they are not perfect. Better than Last Jedi, but not that much better that you should hate LJ the same way you hate Phantom Menace
was actually necessary to spend an hour of movie on Fynn's subplot that went nowhere? Not trying to be an ass but, you can take Fynn and Rose from the movie and nothing would change, they didn't contribute anything substancial. The chase part was overly long and why was the option of using a droid to kamikaze the ship out of the question? In thousands of years of space travelling, is this seriously the first time a kamikaze tactic was ever used in that way? A single ship literally obliterated an entire float. Wouldn't that be a better tactic? Using kamikaze ships controlled by droids? It was the equivalent of a space nuke. I'm not gonna talk about the Leia part, I understand that they had to do it that way. I bet if Carrie Fisher hadn't died the final scene would have been of her stopping the laser using the force for the first time and sacrficing herself saving everybody instead of Luke. and, if by killing off Snoke they wrote themselves into a corner, that's why they are bringing back the emperor. I wouldn't be surprised if Anakin's ghost appears in the next movie.
@@RaVisions I understand very well why Luke was how he is. How long would you bother being the messiah who has to save the galaxy? I would go dark side or eff off in about a year or so. Luke was better than me, but in the end he came to the same conclusion. One messiah is not enough to save the universe
@@0Quiwi0 and honestly I agree with you. I can see that outlook on the film however what I think people miss when holding that perspective is how the filmmakers themselves needed to look at this situation. Though doing an interesting thought provoking take on the character who couldve just been "ultimate force guy" the execution was off. They ruined it with the Luke killing Ben moment. Yes I know he didnt strike or anything but it just felt so out of character for luke to even ignite that blade. Other than that. Rian failed to see the goodwill luke has with people. He is nerd jesus and to many tlj was blasphemy. Again I dont disagree with you, I think that was the most interesting aspect of the film and if they did it well it couldve really been interesting and a truly successful "subversion of expectations" however the execution of this idea coupled with the mess that is tlj just made for a weird empty and hard to sit through film. Had Rey been a genuinely charismatic character along with luke, truly being him when he was younger with that same eagerness to learn and fight the empire I wouldve worked better. The luke idea was honestly just a boat caught at sea in a lightning storm. With sharks
That zootopia review made me remember why i find Doug such a great guy and why ive been coming back to this channel over what feels like at least a third of my life. Keep it up man

Really wondering how this year's disneycember will be like ?
I'm guessing 20th Century Fox movies because Disney owns that now or movies on Disney+
+Nathaniel Foga Trailer coming out either tomorrow or Monday.
It will basically be a mix of Disney Channel Shows and some popular demand
@@ChannelAwesome Thank you for informing us
Channel Awesome is it the Disney Live Action Remakes? The fact that it’s become a genre is sad
I think the scene in Coco where he's performing was totally tied in to the rest of the movie for two reasons: He's trying to win the contest to get to his (supposedly) great great grandfather's party, and also, he's facing his fear of performing, despite his love of music, and realizes just how talented he is. No, the Teacher's Pet guy did the box art for the Cranium games; his art is amazing and it's a shame that we never saw more of it.

Pretty much the only thing I like about Kylo Ren is imagining Anakin seeing him doing all this stuff, believing he's carrying out his grandfather's legacy, and just being heartbroken.
Why didn't you cut out the logos between each one is feel like that would've made it flow better
I desperately want a review of Klaus from Doug. It's so good. Not to hype it up but it's so good.
I wonder if the big mouse himself has contacted Doug yet like “Watch yourself. We see you Makin a profit off of us.”
"this movie was not a financial success when it came out"
(made almost $800 million)
Can't wait for Disneycember 2019.
it's so weird, I remember watching Wendy Wu once, but I don't remember how, and where, and when. just some moments from the movie
i just relised the battelfront 2 plot is literally rouge one
how about doing a review of the magic roundabout
Well...Googling that just sent me down a rabbit hole and now I want to watch both versions just to see how much they changed it for the US audience. I never saw Doogal, wasn't the target audience at the time and heard it was a bad movie. Had no idea it was based on a UK movie that was based on an old french tv show. So interesting to read about.
47:50 apparently Doug hasn’t seen the Wonderful World of Disney film “Ruby Bridges” because that is another great historical film and just a good film in general.
A decent hype for *DISNEYCEMBER* 2019, again I don’t like having the intro for every transition, but I mean- whatever
Congratulations, I wish I liked them that much
Chase Hedges I admire your courage for mentioning that you like TLJ, but you might want to go off the grid because I guarantee an angry mob is headed to your house right now.
I love it to and I like Rose Tico go ahead fanboys lynch me I don't care
Anyone else notice he called mark Ruffalo eric bana?
1:10:43
Yes, they did. IG-88 from Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire.
Recess:school's out is a classic
Could you do a review of good luck charlie on disneycember in the future?
can't wait for disneycember 2019
Why is there 12 commercials? There always seems to be 6-10 commercials on these videos
Hey, have you reviewed Scott pilgrim vs the world. If not I’d really appreciate it if you did. Thanks.
I remember watching Frankin winke and it freaked me out
For this Disneycember I hope he does ones like Let it Shine, Gotta Kick It Up, Descendants 3 & Obviously Avengers: Endgame
I’ll start it now. How long til I end it?
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the internet not a creature was asleep not even a doug
How about a Disneycember on The Mandalorian!
In the Thor ragnarok review that’s mark ruffalo playing hulk not Eric bana. Eric bana was in the first hulk movie.
So Doug what Disney Films are you gonna do for this year Disneycember?
Deshawn Edwards he’s actually doing a few Disney Channel shows and also some popular demand movies, I’m assuming he will finish the marvel movies, with Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home
I hope he reviews Dumbo. I'd love to hear his thoughts on Eva Green. She was the best part of the film.
he said he'll release a trailer tomorrow or monday....I hope tomorrow
Hoping he'll do Descendant 3 for this year, he already did the other two.
disneycember 2019 is gonna be cool
Doug, could you please review Gabby Duran and the Unsittables and Disney’s Hall of Villains?
It’s November. Why are you pushing your months on us earlier than their normal time frame, Doug?!? It’s not even thanksgiving yet!!! I’m definitely memeing on the older-ish holiday episode. :P
Ps; god damn I loved Kiera knightly in the first pirates.
@@cbearslife4950 oh sorry didn't know i just was trying ta help explain why their pushing videos out sorry
Cars 3 was photorealistic
Loved lemonade mouth
Loved captain America civil war
Love guardians of the galaxy
Loved incredibles 1 and 2
Loved nemo and dory, they even managed to out cute the cuteness overload of nemo
The color of friendship seemed to be too cliched and expected, didnt know until later that it was based on real events.
Hey critic I got a review request can you review Friday after next in December and bring your friends including Malcolm
After hearing the rant against planes. Whispers does he know about the sequel?
I hope the following are reviewed this year: Doctor Strange, Ant Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider Man Far From Home, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (could even be next year, since the last season is coming to Disney+ in February 2020).
Can you do the shorts this year?
Doug, you do know that in Thor: Ragnarok, it was Mark Ruffalo, NOT Eric Bana, who played Bruce Banner and The Hulk, right?
sO When will he review that creepy animated BFG? The other animated animated BFG. The cartoon that had that creepy scene where the giant eats one of the kids at the end of their super long finger nail? Or did I just imagine that?
That's the Cosgrove Hall film you didn't imagine it, it was quite real and those evil giants were the stuff of nightmares
That's not Eric Bana doing The Hulk @Nostalgia Critic. That's Mark Ruffalo. =D
Who's Roland Dahl?
drakocarrion major children’s literature writer.
@@falloutmind check again.
Channel Awesome you should talk about Marathon Media shows like Totally Spies, Martin Mystery, Team Galaxy & Monster Buster Club
he briefly brought up Totally Spies in the Kim Possible review, I guess you'll have a good idea there about how he feels about it
iHeart Gaming and Whose Line in the Nostalgia Critic review and where
Has he done FOX movies as a part of Disneycember? I cannot remember.
You should do the short films fr fr
We're really complaining we didn't get a third Spiderman origin movie in the space of 15 years? And just 5 years after the last one? We make fun over seeing Batman's parents die over and over again, Marvel was specifically keeping the same thing from happening to Uncle Ben
I'm honestly using this as background noise while I'm Photoshopping. I think Disneycember 2019 will be Live Action Disney remakes and Fox movies.
10 times. Owen Wilson said wow in cars 3 10 GOD DAMN TIMES.
I wonder what Disneycember 2019 will be. Maybe X-Men (since Disney owns Fox now) and More Overlooked and Recent Movies?
Eric Bana? Doug, Bruce Banner is the Hulk. Eric Bana just played him once.
@ChannelAwesome Now for DisneyCember you r gonna need to cover Endgame
Put some effort to it people
The plot was kinda basic and they added quite a bunch of things to it that didn't really drive the plot at all.
@@bancon666 I agree that the Finn-Rose thing was the worst offender of those things that didn't drive the plot at all
Destruction of Luke's character
Keep it up man
Wtf... I guess its a thing to do recaps of movies from last year...o>O
I am born a month that is a Disney holiday as well as Christmas...
I am ashamed to be born in December now
Wait as this years Disneycember being all the movies from Disney+ which he had never reviewed from previous Disneycembers. Or possibly all Simpsons Seasons since Disney owns the Simpsons now.
Pulling your hair at it.....what hair?
The only reason I stay subscribed.
Hahah Owen Wilson’s wow. “Waaaaaaaaow!”
Review Descendant 3 for this year Disneycember, you already did the other two.
Eric Bana lol
