Hey Doug, I doubt you'll see this but I thought it was really cool how you complemented the design of Zenon. The Production Designer was Joe Garrity, A teacher of mine at American Film Institute. But thank you for your thoughtful reviews and understanding how many minds go into creating a film.

Even in Nightmare Before Christmas, they still had a daytime and that was pretty regular. I will say for Halloweentown, maybe they should have used warmer colours like orange for the lighting to give it more of an autumn feel, but I really liked how Halloweentown was handled overall.

How have so few heard of Wizards of Waverly Place? That was one of the few shows memorable enough from my childhood to actually remember the names of most of the characters. It kinda stood out even among Cartoon Network and Nick cartoons in how enjoyable I found it.
Selena's character was such a badass snarky witty firepot! It felt so natural that you could see her being like that in real life. My favorite was Harper though! I had a mad crush on Jennifer Stone!❤️
the thirteenth year is my favorite disney channel movie of ALL TIME. smart house is a very close second, but the thirteenth year is the one I remember always watching every time it was on.
I live in Utah where they filmed High School Musical and parts of Luck of the Irish. It's nice to see a little bit of places I'm familiar with in bigger movies.
I really wish he had done Princess Protection Program. That’s like one of the only ones that I remembered. I don’t really remember much about what happens but I clearly remember that I saw it.
Deshawn Edwards Probably as part of Disneycember 2019, along with some 20th Century Fox movies like X-Men or Anastasia (1997), since Disney acquired Fox.
Not gonna lie. I didn't think Descendants was that bad. It had a good idea for a message "don't judge a child for the sins of the parent" and I did enjoy the fact that Cruella's son was terrifird of dogs. That was a neat concept.
That doesn't even make sense. Why would Cruella's son be afraid of dogs? He would have grown up with them. And the dogs weren't mean or aggressive in the movie
@@propogandalf Maybe it's supposed to be a joke or shows that he's not that interested in what Cruella wanted? Also, fear of dogs exists and dogs don't necessarily need to do anything in order for that to happen. I'm scared ot heights, but I didn't have to fall off a roof to have that fear.
@@monsterhanna6691 I mean, I would assume having cynophobia would make him MORE similar to his mother than dissimilar. It would have contrasted with his mother if he was really good with dogs. Acrophobia isn't generally an acquired fear like cynophobia. In fact, you have a much higher chance of having acrophobia if you DIDN'T experience heights and/or injurious falls as a child. The interesting thing is that animal phobias (and I assume a lot of other acquired phobias) aren't nessecarily from trauma or firsthand experience. Cruella's son, ironically, could have easily acquired it from his mother saying a lot of bad things about dogs at home, which I'm sure she does.
@@propogandalf Well, no. Cruella always tried to steal dogs but she was the villain: she always failed or even if she did succeed for a time, by the end of the movie, the dogs were safely back with their rightful owners. Now I kind of want to watch that 101 Dalmatians movie with Dr. House as one of the henchmen.

One thing you didn't notice, critic, are the colour themes in the HSM movies. The summer movie has the brightest damn colours with saturation and contrast turned up, the HSM3 has saturation turned down in the sad parts and turned back up in the happy parts... that's some pretty subliminal messaging for a Disney flick.

When it comes to Kim possible I didn't watch the movie when I was younger but I was watching it recently and I have to admit i was laughing a lot especially at Ron he was hilarious to me personally.
Ok, I may not be an expert on DCOMs, but I feel like there a handful I know of that I personally would love to see him tackle: Teen Beach Movie 1+2, Lizzie Maguire Movie, Zombies, and Hannah Montana Movie, amongst I'm sure many other older ones he left out for time reasons. Therefore, eventually, I hope he does a Disneycember DCOM Pt. 2, to cover the ones he missed last time.
I am thirty eight years old and grew up on Disney stuff and still enjoy Disney stuff now. Even suit life which i have seen both series the suit life of zack and Cody and suit life on deck!!!!!
Halloween Town isn't a creepy place because the entire point was that they were actually ordinary citizens when humans kicked them out for being different.
If you weren’t lucky like me and didn’t grow up in the golden age of the DCOM it was the best! whenever that “Lets Watch A Disney Channel Movie” song and the kids were dancing over the film strip you got excited. If they advertised one was coming you were hyped all week and if you didn’t know and just happened to be watching when it was on you sat through the whole thing. Even though they’re cheesy and over the top they felt like they were films made for you and not pushed at you by adults. And they did shape parts of our childhood. Anyone who saw High School Musical before they were actually in High school thought that this might be what high school was like. My generation has nostalgia goggles superglued on to our faces where these movies are concerned. These were the ultimate kids movies, not family movies kids movies
2:33:38 the song in the beginning of the film is a daydream Mal has not something that actually happens. It's part of her motivation to go back to the Isle.
Be cool to see him talk about Brothers of the Frontier, Horse sense , and Jumping Ship if anyone remembers those. And if he has please point me to those episodes cause I've not found them yet.
I'm 54, and 'Phineas and Ferb' is one of my all time favorite animated series. It sits right next to the 'Avatar the Last Airbender' animated series. NOT the live action movie. THAT atrocity was never made. So saith the Rotten Tomatoes. Henceforth, we shall NEVER SPEAK ITS NAME!!!...or whatever. But yeah, Phineas and Ferb. 👍 Great show.😊 ✌️❤️
I for some reason remember “under wraps” being the second Disney original movie and I thought that “you lucky dog” was the first it’s just that I remember it being advertised as the first one. It was a movie about a guy who claimed to psychically speak to animals but is surprised when one of them can speak to him after he relays what he feels to the owner the old man dies and leaves all his money to his dog with the animal psychic been given the job of interpreting what the dog wants.
WOW, I am getting flashbacks to my childhood on a high level. Some of these I totally forgot even existed (a few I think I wanted to see as a kid I never did). Now yes, Halloweentown (and at least the 2nd), Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, and Can of Worms hold some special spot (nostalgic really), to where my family and I have even made references back to them to this day. Smart House still hasn't wondering the possibilities of that today (from when I was a kid), and then Luck of the Irish (because of my Irish heritage). I think I have some of these still on VHS
Jett Jackson was a great show that would have fit on any network. Definitely worth watching. The movie was a bit out of character but fun. Worth checking out
I felt like camp rock the cliche was needed for the younger audience but the cliches atleast had more of a development with it that teaches younger audience something or atleast inspires them somewhat.
i know the writer of this (Cheatah Girls) , her name was Deborah and she has a history with foster care. when you said something about the problems of growing up, that is some children's reality of growing up. i know because i spent four years of my childhood in foster care and some kids it is their whole life. i have a the largest most active group of former foster youth in the country, Former Foster Children United which is a support and discussion group to help former foster youth and educate foster parents, social workers, and all others involved with the foster care system. but foster care is a reality for many children and sadly there are a lot stories.
Doug, you left out the following movies: Cheetah Girls: One World, Don't Look Under the Bed, High School Musical 3 and The Scream Team. Also, the name of Gary Cole's character in "Cadet Kelly" is Brigadier General Joe "Sir" Maxwell
The only ones he likes are under wraps, smart house, proud family movie, K P sitch in time, so the drama, twitches 1 and too, wizards and phineas and ferb
This is the most nostalgic thing. I was born in 2000 so I have probably seen most of these except Can of Worms and Underwraps. I remember wanting to stay up late if I was still awake when the movie started playing. Also Cheetah Girls were the bomb. And London Tipton is a delightful little airhead heiress. She probably thinks that mammal is just another word for camel. And I hate the descendants because it killed Ever After High which is so much better. I mean sleeping beauty's daughter is a party animal because she knows she's going to sleep for thousand years and all her friends will be gone. Raven Queen the evil queen's daughter she had with Snow White's dad and she doesn't want to be evil which can destroy the entire world That's great!
I Kinna feel like he skips a lot through the movies, just by watching this I would think that in Twitches Lucinda was Alex's step mom but it was her best friend. And in Even Stevens movies they DID ask what the catch was, they were told there was non and it was to give a review before they allow tourist to the island.
Kinda surprised that NC knew who the Jonas Brothers were, but called Demi Lovato "the girl playing Mitchie"... Demi Lovato has kinda inarguably gotten more famous than the Jonas Brothers did (admittedly they broke up as a band so that's a factor too) so that took me aback x'D
Halloween Town was so-so as an entire series of movies. I do have to say I think it greatly improved from the first one though. So much so that I am almost certain I watched the first one now but I don't remember anything about it. If I'm honest, I think I got to a point where I assumed the second one was the first one after so long. I don't think they actually showed the first one on Disney Channel near as much as they showed the others. I remember catching the others, I don't remember really catching the first.
You need to do a Part 2 to this because you missed Mom's on a Date With a Vampire, Teen Beach Movie (both of them), Mostly Ghostly: Who Let the Ghosts Out?, Up, Up and Away and My Date With the President's Daughter. Still a great video though. 😍😍😍
RE: The Cheetah Girls movie.... First off, Nostalgia Critic, don't have a coronary over it. Second, having watched this movie more times than I probably had any right to... They were not just self-righteously saying "girl power" before every song. In the clip you showed, for example, "Girl Power" is the song title.
Produced by Whitney Houston, as ICONIC (if not more, as they actually went ON TOUR) as High School Musical, and no less ridiculous or silly than the plots of other DCMs! Cheetah girls empowers women, teaches us to follow our dreams, but also put work into achieving them, and is just all-around iconic!
Am I the only one who remembers Princess Protection Program I mean I've watched it with my sister a couple times but it is pretty corny and terrible but it has some rememberable moments and some not too good ones but whatever and to anyone who doesn't like Jesse and Wizards of Waverly Place I don't know they just have a special place in my heart and they always will

“The Moon Is A Goth Girl” sounds like some indie song from the 80s, wish it was
My wife was an 80's goth girl! ❤️
@@Eris_Strife "My Wife is secretly an 80's goth girl that came back from the DEAD?!? (NOT clickbait)"
It definitely has some "my girlfriend turned into the moon" energy.
Kim Possible: So the Drama very good movie. Kim and Ron the most beautiful couple Disney!
the thirteenth year is my favorite disney channel movie of ALL TIME. smart house is a very close second, but the thirteenth year is the one I remember always watching every time it was on.
I wish he would’ve done “Let It Shine”, that’s my favorite Disney Channel Movie
Critic...show me on the doll where The Cheetah Girls hurt you.😂
I still remember all these movies. This is totally my generation I grew up all these movies and loved every single one.
"I'll never forget the day shaggy walked on set and announced he killed god"

What?
Omfg bless u for this comment absolutely 💯 😤
Doug/Nostalgia Critic can you view then review the new live-action Kim Possible Movie.

We have not heard if it's going to be Canon or not for all we know it actually is
@@jmoney228 your face isnt canon
Ugh. Why are you asking him to do that to himself? That is going to be a hot mess.
Deshawn Edwards Probably as part of Disneycember 2019, along with some 20th Century Fox movies like X-Men or Anastasia (1997), since Disney acquired Fox.
The Suite life used to take place in a Hotel when the actors were kids. Then in their teenage years the set was moved to a ship.
@@monsterhanna6691
I mean, I would assume having cynophobia would make him MORE similar to his mother than dissimilar.
Here are some that I watched that weren't on here
Brink (my favorite original movie)
Color of Friendship
Quints
Paper Brigade
Motocrossed
Horse sense 1 and 2
The other me
Miracle in lane 2
Doubleteamed (lol!)
Johnny tsunami
Alley cats strike
I absolutely love Brink and Alley Cat Strike. Would love to hear NC's thoughts on them.

Cat King YASSS Critic should do Girl Vs Monster I was young when I watched that movie, I recently re-watched it and its basically a bad version of Ghostbusters
Nerdy Gamer I agree. I really liked that movie when it come out.
2:29:06 From this silent footage, she reminds me of Rita Repulsa from MightyMorphin PowerRangers!
The color grading on HSM2 is so bizarre 😂

Clyde Savage the Fox he did princess Protection Program already
Tangled: the series?

Thank you for mentioning Halloweentown I've vaguely remembered it for years but couldn't remember what it was called. I know when I was little I liked it a lot and watched it whenever I could.
Nooo you forgot about Pixel Perfect! Am I the only one who remembers this Disney channel movie 😢
nope. pixel perfect was amazing.
@@kia-mariekhelawan8113I agree I'm 43 but an avid toon fan miss this
I have “there’s no difference between the teardrops & the rain” & “don’t even try it” on my IPod, & I remember going to Media Play to buy the soundtrack CD which I still have lol. & Raviv “Ricky” Ullman ❤️
I fell for Raviv Ullman the very first time I saw the promo for that movie.
No!! That was always my favorite dude omg!! I had the biggest crush on Ricky Ullman back in the day 😂
The songs were fun too
I stg nobody remembers or ever talks about that movie and it was so fun!! Very underrated
it is amazing how many of these were suppressed in the back of my mind for years!
When it comes to Kim possible I didn't watch the movie when I was younger but I was watching it recently and I have to admit i was laughing a lot especially at Ron he was hilarious to me personally.
Jump in and lemonade mouth are seriously underrated
Jump In was amazing
Yesss I loved Jump In
Ok, I may not be an expert on DCOMs, but I feel like there a handful I know of that I personally would love to see him tackle: Teen Beach Movie 1+2, Lizzie Maguire Movie, Zombies, and Hannah Montana Movie, amongst I'm sure many other older ones he left out for time reasons. Therefore, eventually, I hope he does a Disneycember DCOM Pt. 2, to cover the ones he missed last time.
Oo I agree
slightly disappointed that Phantom of the Megaplex didn't get a review. that was one of my favorites and the inclusion of Mickey Rooney is just a plus
the competition in wizards of waverly place makes way more since if you have seen the show lol
idk how much these count as Disney channel movies but A Cinderella Story (with Hillary Duff) and Wish Upon a Star are my favorite
Oh wow, you madlad
2:33:38 the song in the beginning of the film is a daydream Mal has not something that actually happens. It's part of her motivation to go back to the Isle.
I remember the night Under Wraps premiered, I only saw the first little bit then my family went play mini golf. I was 7 (just checked the dates)
👍 Great show.😊
✌️❤️
Definitely not all of the DCOM’s but good selection. That took me down memory lane haha
"It's time for an explanation, and it better be good."
I couldn't agree more.
The theme park is real and still open. It’s Lagoon in Utah. One of the few amusement parks not yet owned by Six Flags.
52:06 I always seen him as Jake from Animorphs even after X-men.
Holy crap!! I remember Can of Worms!! I can’t believe I didn’t remember that I knew it 😱 oh great childhood
None of them even say frick or heck

Jett Jackson was a great show that would have fit on any network. Definitely worth watching. The movie was a bit out of character but fun. Worth checking out
Halloween town is quintessential Disney channel camp, it’s beloved!
I felt like camp rock the cliche was needed for the younger audience but the cliches atleast had more of a development with it that teaches younger audience something or atleast inspires them somewhat.
I was recalling hoping for you to mimic the "Grahm Crakus" line from Camp Rock 2 lol
I LOVED this....and I died laughing at the Cheetah Girls part
i know the writer of this (Cheatah Girls) , her name was Deborah and she has a history with foster care. when you said something about the problems of growing up, that is some children's reality of growing up. i know because i spent four years of my childhood in foster care and some kids it is their whole life. i have a the largest most active group of former foster youth in the country, Former Foster Children United which is a support and discussion group to help former foster youth and educate foster parents, social workers, and all others involved with the foster care system. but foster care is a reality for many children and sadly there are a lot stories.
I've seen a few of these, heard of Cheetah Girls, but never seen Cheetah Girls. Wow! Did not expect that review.
Think you can do a review of the Street fighter cartoon from the mid 90s?
Doug, you left out the following movies: Cheetah Girls: One World, Don't Look Under the Bed, High School Musical 3 and The Scream Team. Also, the name of Gary Cole's character in "Cadet Kelly" is Brigadier General Joe "Sir" Maxwell
"GO SOCCER MUMMY! YOU TAUGHT ME TO BELIEVE IN MYSELF!!!"🤣
The only ones he likes are under wraps, smart house, proud family movie, K P sitch in time, so the drama, twitches 1 and too, wizards and phineas and ferb
Be glad you choose Smart House. Princess Protection Program is pretty stupid. And this is from someone who likes watching Tinker Bell movies.
They still havent done pixel perfect and back to the suburbs which are one the disney channel originals I remembered
Still waiting on Pixel Perfect.
Does that mean that, Apple White is Raven’s step sister?
When I watched the Jet Jackson movie as a kid, my first thought was 'I hope they never send Silverstone on an undercover mission. He can't act.'
I Kinna feel like he skips a lot through the movies, just by watching this I would think that in Twitches Lucinda was Alex's step mom but it was her best friend. And in Even Stevens movies they DID ask what the catch was, they were told there was non and it was to give a review before they allow tourist to the island.
The maleficent movie did her more Justice flushing out her character even though it still didn't do good at least a flush draw more
I paused the movie I mean video to say this:
GRAMCRACKERS!
1:20:00 OH MY GOD IVE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS MOVIE FOR 3 YEARS
The moon is a goth girl.. I learn something new every day 😂
Lol Can of Worms is God damnes bananas and I don't care, I fucking loved it lol.
I can see JonTron flipping through that same calendar he had in the Clock Tower video.
18:03 thats very easy for me to imagine bc thats how I learned about this movie.
At 5 in the morning!!!!
18:05 looks like the cat in the hat (2000 movie)
Halloween Town was so-so as an entire series of movies. I do have to say I think it greatly improved from the first one though. So much so that I am almost certain I watched the first one now but I don't remember anything about it. If I'm honest, I think I got to a point where I assumed the second one was the first one after so long. I don't think they actually showed the first one on Disney Channel near as much as they showed the others. I remember catching the others, I don't remember really catching the first.
I watched the entirety of the video just to hear Doug Walker's opinion on The Phineas and Ferb Movie...the only Disney Channel movie I've ever seen.
Did he just refer to Demi Lovato as "lead girl?"
yes, yes he did
Yeah lol
You need to do a Part 2 to this because you missed Mom's on a Date With a Vampire, Teen Beach Movie (both of them), Mostly Ghostly: Who Let the Ghosts Out?, Up, Up and Away and My Date With the President's Daughter. Still a great video though. 😍😍😍
Mostly Ghostly is a Universal Movie so it wouldn't count
