Great video I had the same problem with mine. Not really what you'd expect from Husky

Did it ever develop a leak after cleaning it? I have the same saw, same problem. I've heard to use a little Loctite 518 as a sealant in the area it sits against the "oil port" as a fix. Just wondering if its really needed. My saw is basically brand new. Used 2 or three times for a few minutes.

This saw too was practically brand new. You could see where the seal was folded over. I have only used it once since the fix and so far so good, it would be nice if it had a way to meter the oil like some others. This seems to really drench the chain.

@@timtimeprojects3576 Interesting, I did not find any folds or deformities on my saw like I expected to.. I've heard that the oil port/rubber insert can leak so I just finished applying the Loctite 518, we will see. Or perhaps it was leaking from another place I missed and haven't heard reports on yet. One thing is for sure, it was not coming out of the oil feed tube properly to soak the chain and left the dreaded puddle of oil doom in the chainsaw case/anywhere the was placed.

Mike, did the Loctite 518 work and where exactly did you apply it?

Does that chainsaw have an oil adjustment screw? Every video I’ve seen shows one on the husqvarna saws. I have a 440e and I can’t find any adjustment screw!

They are automatic oilers . I have both the 440 an 440E . Good saws about to replace my pump clutch and oil pump cover . Because I cut the bottom of mine

It doesnt, I changed mine with 455 oil pump that is adjustable

I have a 440E2 and I I'm not getting no oil pumping and I replaced everything with the filter and I heard it might have a error flow valve on the oil reservoir?

@@wipsaw100 did you try cleaning the oil holes on the bar .they can get clogged up and it will not oil the chain.

@@wipsaw100 same, won't oil even with bar off, I'm at a total loss

I'm glad you made this video . It gonna help me take mine apart to rebuild the drive system. When you were talking about antennas . Are you an Ham Radio Operator?

I have a 440E too and I'm not getting no oil I replaced everything but the oil filter but I heard that may or may not have a air flow hole In the oil or reservoir?

No need to replace the oil pipe, a little dab of super glue will clean up that oil leak right away.

I really think this is on purpose, i have a 50cc 2.6hp german chainsaw, and when brand new it would also leave a small pudle under it while sitting in the garage for a couple of days, but once i started heavy use on it, all day cutting, it stopped.
Maybe to prevent easy clogging of the oil outlet once you really start using the chainsaw.. thats my theory.

This is definitely a fault on this saw because mine over oils too / leaks even when not in use. Thanks for making this video. Where did you buy the rubber hose from?
