Today's bowlers could take a lesson from these greats. Not only because they were incredible cricketers but the attitude of confidence without arrogance as well. They celebrate the big wickets but hardly make a noise when cleaning up the tail. Also not even the slightest chance of the bullshit sendoffs that are such a common sight these days.
So I should convert to Darwinism because it's scientifically proven wrong? Darwinism isn't a religion, and isn't identical to a belief in evolution. And it is broadly correct. I see Indian secular state is failing you. It needs to reform the Islamic education in Kashmir for young ones sake there. Btw check Kashmiris don't pay service tax to Indian government, unlike any other state. They receive massive aid packages from Indian government and have full property owning right anywhere in india, while it's not reciprocated. Kashmir has been utterly pampered by Indian state, and time for all that is about to be over. Get ready to stand on your feet and call yourselves proud Indians again.

That's a good compliment but that ending is something else.... McGrath was absolute class but if you think he was more skilled than Marshall alone, then you are sadly mistaken.... #JustSaying
the most intimidiating team ever to play cricket. The Windies team from 79 -92. Roberts,Garner,Holding - Marshall- Walsh,Ambrose,Bishop. Marshall being the common binding factor between 2 FAB4 bowling units. When a team gets the service of 7 fast bowlers who avg:ed < 25 baring one who avg:ed slightly over 25 over a period of time , no wonder that team deserves to be called as the undisputed best of all time.
The West Indies teams of the mid 1970's through the 80's were arguably the greatest test teams ever to play cricket. Myself as an England fan were often on the receiving end of these great cricketers in that period.
Just look at them clock 145+ every ball with such good ball movement. These run up are so ahead of time. The elegant bowling action. Back then every run had to be earned but now just a swing of the bat and the ball just goes for 4. How times have changed from a balanced game to a Batsmans' game

I was brought up watching windies- two west indian greats played in their youth at my local cricket ground in north east england- tynedale c club - Courtney Walsh and I an Bishop- yes it was incredible and they both played for windies with distinction especially big courtney, who was a lovely man- I whitewashed Bishop at pool, lol lol injury prevented him being a great as he was quickest anyone had ever seen. I followed courtneys career with Gloucster where he teamed up with Sid Lawrence to be formidable partnership. Loved windies in 80's- best team ever- the 85 team that came to England was unbeatable- simply the best ever.
Best team with best fast bowlers and best batsmen! Did not get chance to view these fast bowlers action! Thanks for uploading this! Love watching this great team and their performance!
Holding, Allan Donald, , Lillee and Hadlee are the best I’ve seen. Honourable mentions Garner when he sped up to open the attack, Shane Bond. Worst actions….Rackerman, E Chatfield, Mitch Johnson, F DeVillers
God they were just an incredible team. Everyone knows about the deadly fast-bowling and dominating batting but what you really get a sense of in these videos was the standard of the catching. This of course in an era before dedicated fielding coaches and multiple fitness instructors etc. There's Michael Holding at 18.48 taking one of the best catches you'll ever see. Just an incredible side, truly a team of all the talents.
Jeffrey Dujon is the greatest wicket keeper the world has ever seen it. is time to honor him while he his still alive , he was so acrobatic no other came close to his ability behind the stump, he was cleaner than the rest before and after him, with skills far more than the rest ,Jeffrey Dujon a real west Indies legend.
What a Compilation. Great work Rob Thanks for reliving some mesmerising moments of Golden era of Cricket. Good to see the unbeatable natural fast bowling greats from WI and look how the Mighty Aussies are looking as sitting duck for these hunters ...
I remember when they toured Australia in the 80's.. we'd bust our guts and often they'd still beats us... But we knew we were privileged to see a champion team like they were..We respected them...I'm reminiscing I know.. but I wish I wasn't..world cricket is better off when the Windies are "on song"!
but u guys use to wup our ass back in the 60's early70's, I can remember that 5-0 whupping that the Aussies put on the West Indies in 1975 and that was the wakeup call for the west indies
I remember these series very well. The Windies used to come to Australia virtually every summer those days. The most popular touring team in Australian cricket history - everybody loved them. Simply awe inspiring!
One thing you don't see from highlights is the accuracy. Either bang on line and length, yorker at the toes, or bouncer to the throat, ball after ball. No respite for the batsmen and sheer intimidation. Went to a couple test matches against the windies in the 80's, is what got me into cricket, and was frightening watching sometimes :) Defnately the best pace attack i've ever seen. Great vid, thx
Greatest team ever one after the other fiery fast bowling, batting even more , fielders wicket keeper superb , oh what a dream team and a super captain Clive Lylod
Some of the best cricket videos you will ever see on here. You can't but help admire the skill of the west indies fast bowling brigade. Such legends and I would have to say probably the best group of fast bowlers that will ever play the game bar for a few such as Akram, McGrath and Younis. Thaks for uploading these classics I love em!!!!
crystal clear dismissals are a hallmark of the West Indian bowling of this era. Holding, Garner, Marshall and Walsh- what a quartet . Richie Richardson's debut match. Wonderful memoirs. The only mistake they did is not to encourage the younger generation to play as well as they did. Thanks again Rob :D A big fan !
The reason I would love to see another west Indian side, like the one Loyd led, once again, today, is because I always felt that west Indies are perhaps the only team in the world that played the game for the fun of it. They played with a gay abandon and never bothered about loss or victory. They were aggressive players but not aggressive in a negative sense like Australians who provoked opposition by indulging in verbal duels. West Indians instead made their ball and bat do the talking. Perhaps the absence of great players after Lloyd's team members retired led to west Indies losing it's power and this further made west Indian youth take to games other than cricket. For the sake of keeping cricket, the game, (because today it has become to serious a commercial business) we need another west Indian side like that of Lloyd's.. Hope they rise once again and bring back the calypso dance on to the fields!!!
Colin Croft, Patrick Patterson, Michael Holding "gay abandon"? Please. Ask the batsman who had to face them. They cared so much about being bounced out by Australia in 75 that they decided to get their own back.Don't blame them but please... they were fierce competitors. a team would face about 8 overs an hour with only 2 deliveries an over possible to score from. Fantastic cricketers but please see the whole story.
Easwaran R. B. I think the current West Indian players don't have a love of the game like these guys did.Ironically, the legendary players were loyal to the game while the current players are in it for the money only.Additionally, the West Indies Cricket board need to get their act together as well.
You are wrong Easwaran. West Indies under Lloyd did care about winning and never liked the moniker 'calypso cricketers.' Lloyd wanted his team to be professionals and after the 75-76 drubbing they received in Australia, their approach to training etc., changed. The Packer world series cricket helped a lot. Some people who say that today's players only care about money are wrong and unfair. Many of the WI players of old barely made any money and most of them had off season jobs. Certainly we cannot expect our cricketers today to play for peanuts. Our problems in the WI are many. Management, infrastructure, trainibg/coaching and finance or rather lack of finance. Space is limited heret to go into the solutions. Whatever it is, though, it will not be easy.
Truly, pace like fire. An absolute delight to watch. Robelinda, you deserve to be mentioned in Wisden for your invaluable contribution in preserving the beautiful game of cricket for posterity. Those with ADHD (i.e followers of IPL) and Team BCCI maniacs will never be able to appreciate vintage cricket, so nuts to them. Are there any existing videos of Vanburn Holder and Wayne Daniel? And wasn't Pat Pat also a part of the 80's Juggernaught?
What a tremendous team WI was - Never before and never after was there a team to match them! Aus likes to think that McGrath and Warne would have matched WI in Richards-Marshall days but the truth is that McGrath- Warne were no better than Lillie-Thommo. WI would break them down mentally. There are pace bowlers and then there are pace bowlers if you know what I mean. WI pacers were different as they could hurt you easily and they did. They bowled bouncers without bowling it short - It just kicked up and hit you on the hand or head.
Five great batsmen, five great fast bowlers and one great wicket keeper. If this is not the greatest team the world has ever seen, I want to see the greatest.

We need to learn the gentle man behaviour on ground with this team.thats make them greatest of all time.the quality, aggressive game and gentleman spirit.the greatest team ever.
Amazing team this was...almost all of them greats 🙏
The standard of catching there was flippin' amazing !!!
The best bowling attack era till now
Awesome video.... We miss West Indies 80'S Team, Marshall, Garner, Holding, Sir Richards, Clive Lloyd and Jeff Dujon. They decimated all the countries during their prime.
you sir are amazing for getting all these videos. I started following cricket mid 90's and for someone like me these are priceless videos of the legends of the game. Thank you
I've really enjoyed spending my May 2021 nights looking at all these vintage game of cricket videos especially of the West Indies. It's good to catch up on this golden age.
Great fast bowlers of all time. They were all bloody fast indeed. Not just one or two. All five were equally fast. Imagine what a situation the batsman will be facing them throughout the day without any respite.
@@anuraagdekaviolin5856 No chance. India's nowadays' fast bowlers could best be considered as fast spinners. That's all.
@@anuraagdekaviolin5856 . No point in arguments here. India is now having a stable attack. But I have seen both the Windies fast bowlers and seeing current Indian fast bowler. There is no comparison brother.
Was born in '81 and didn't take to the game till '94 ( Blithering Idiot that I am!!) but, still, remember my mom and dad singing praises about Roberts, Holding, Sir Viv and the Gang!! You help me relive my parents passion and I never doubted them then and I don't doubt them now. You, Sir, are fantastic...!!
Wow, what a class of bowling ...
The greatest bowling attack of all time with batsman like Haynes, Greenidge, Sir Viv, Richie Rich, Lloyd, Gomes and a great keeper in Dujon.
Surely Sir Clive Lloyd. Or am I wrong
Back when Cricket Bats were actually bats and not logs and Boundaries were proper circles and not as small as the ones we draw in Geometry class.
Theyonly look like logs, for the guys are much taller so they have to mske the bats to suit their height
Viv Richards Stuart Surridge "Jumbo" bat was 3lb+
Definitely. When you got a boundary it was earned because it was a lot harder to get one. Now with the boundary rope taken in by half a mile it’s a lot easier!!!
A masterclass in bowling and fielding. What a time it was to watch this live.
you can't see so many greats at ONE time in ONE TEAM, deadly bowlers including the shortest and quickest Malcolm, great
i sat and watched this from start to finish in complete awe......great video
My favourite, of all your videos.Thank you Rob !
Malcolm Marshall ahead of his time. All are legends, but Marshall was an absolute genius.
Bilal yes sir
Bilal Malcolm, andy, holding, garner are worldclass bowlers......but we should not forget imrankhan was the first bowler......who introduce the legendary swing bowling... that sent havoc around the world ...the guru of all modern swing fast bolwers.
Bilal
That's right! I agree.
@@vivinpanicker2305 Not really, people have swung the ball since the game was invented! But yes Imran was a great swing bowler and he had a big part in teaching Waqar and Wasim to become World Class bowlers also!
Indian Occupied Kashmir
Agrees with you Sir
Very true
Convert to brahminiam again. Return to Kashmiri roots.

U CONVERT TO DARWANISM
scientifically proven wrong belief
Holding + Marshal + Garner + Walsh !!! A draw without an injured batsman would be a victory for the opposition :)-
This was Walsh just beginning his career.
Quite simply the greatest team in any sport in any era. Winners and played fair. No need to cheat or sledge when you are the best ,well done.Simply the best.
The greatest team ever! I was 10 when they came to Oz in 84-85 and they destroyed us and a few careers in those 3 months!!! Aus was great from 94 to 05 but there W.Indies were something else.Especially the bowlers!!! McGrath and Warne were top and would get you out but the Windies pace-battery were SCARY!!! The got you out through fear whilst McGrath and Warne used skill.
I am glad that you admitted that. Aussies generally take lot of pride (sometimes overt) and never seem to agree greatness in opposition.
Stratos1974 the Windies bowlers were skilled.
That's a good compliment but that ending is something else.... McGrath was absolute class but if you think he was more skilled than Marshall alone, then you are sadly mistaken.... #JustSaying
I’m glad you admit the Aussies shit themselves when they played The West Indies
@@markgrant4509 Everybody did!
the most intimidiating team ever to play cricket.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BARRING MARSHAL WHO TOUCHED 140 THEY WERE MOSTLY 130 ISH. IT IS ONLY AFTER MCGRATH,DONALD, AKRAM AND THAN WAQAR PUSHED IT TO 140 ISH.
==============
WITH ALL RUNNING CRAIG MCDERMOOT WAS 136 ISH MAX!!!
----------------
DONALD COULD TOUCH 145 ISH SOMETIMES. IT IS ONLY IN MODERN ERA: BRET LEEE,SHOAIB AKTAR ARE THE FIRST TWO TOUCH THAT 150 KM CONSISTENTLY AND NOT OCCASSIONALLY. BRETLEE ALWAYS HIT 150 AT WILL.
-----------------
THESE DAYS MARK WOODSON OF ENGLAND IS THE REAL 150 KM FAST BOWLER. HE CONSISTENTLY HIT THAT SPEED.
--------------------
ALSO YOUNG DAYLE STERYN WAS ALWAYS ABOVE 145 KM PER HOUR AND ALSO COULD HIT 150.
-----------------------
OTHER THAN THAT PEOPLE HAVE HIT 150 KM PER HOUR BUT OCCASSIONALLY.
-----------------------
MY MAN BHUMRA HOPS FEW LENGTH AND GETS IT TO 145 KM. I HAVE SEEN BHUMRA HIT 150 BUT NOT OFTEN!!!
-----------------------
SHAUN TAIT WAS FAST BUT HE DID NOT PLAY TESTS NOR LASTED LONG.
----------------------
SHANE BOND WAS DECENT BUT NOT VERY FAST.
---------------------------
NZ FERGUSSON CONSISTENLY HITS 146 TO 150!!!
Not just surely the greatest pace battery in the history of cricket, but also what a great, superbly athletic fielding unit too!
They could also bat a bit too! (:
Best team with best fast bowlers and best batsmen! Did not get chance to view these fast bowlers action! Thanks for uploading this!
Love watching this great team and their performance!
Smooth run up and action of holding rolls royce of fast bowling
Michael Holding - best bowling action ever!
It's an absolute joy to watch West Indies fast bowlers fire.
@@randyeduo 5/1 surely shcummisstake. Hic
I remember these series very well. The Windies used to come to Australia virtually every summer those days. The most popular touring team in Australian cricket history - everybody loved them. Simply awe inspiring!
Really! I remember when they were abused because of their race one year
@@virgin26 when?
@@virgin26not abused maybe some racial slurs but thats okay
It fueled them even more.
Surely the best ever! never seen a bowling attack remotely in this league before or since.
Ive just been taping cricket off tv for a LONG time......
Awesome work
I think Malcolm Marshall was the best of them all the complete fast bowler.
They called him ET...express train...and gee he was quick. Accurate and clever, great bowler.
Stephen Davies - totally agree, the best of the best
Great times for cricket. You can see how intimidated the Aussie batsmen were. Most of the shots played were nothing more than a nervous prod.
I think it's becoz of lack of safety gears , nowadays batsman wouldn't be this intimidated becoz of good safety gears
Greatest team ever one after the other fiery fast bowling, batting even more , fielders wicket keeper superb , oh what a dream team and a super captain Clive Lylod
They the WestIndies were menacing and unplayable. It was the best side at any point of time 👍
Thanks Rob. This is your best video. Half an hour of West Indian fast bowlers...priceless.
Every day watching and everyday we are surprising.
This is a freaking awesome video.
crystal clear dismissals are a hallmark of the West Indian bowling of this era. Holding, Garner, Marshall and Walsh- what a quartet . Richie Richardson's debut match. Wonderful memoirs. The only mistake they did is not to encourage the younger generation to play as well as they did. Thanks again Rob :D A big fan !
Andy Roberts was my favourite
brilliant video, this is my P.E. revison for the next month
Holdings action is awesome
Easwaran R. B. .Yes very true. Loyds team was seen to be believed. Relentless fast bowling indeed.
Gay abandon?! As a West Indian supporter I can assure you 100% my team played to win.
