I understand the extreme leading class components on this truck and the thousands man hours and R&D, but I can’t wrap my head around $700,000. Let my buddies and I come to the shop and spend a day of taking measurements and creating a full parts list. I bet you I can rebuild an extremely similar truck for $215,000.
Yes but you also have to pay your tools, shop overhead, insurances, and most importantly pay yourself for all that hard work.
the parts add up too more than that engine, trans, Shocks, electronics

Why don't they make some kind of a wind shield out of thick plexiglass & aluminium loovers in front of the plexiglass or bulletproof glass. It's pretty obvious money is not an issue.

It's hard to get the weight on these things in the 20 years I've been following the sport. TT's are "heavy". However, the more you get into the physics of this sport the more you realize it can actually help. One part it helps is in sprung to unsprung weight ratio. But my guess? 5000 lbs. Wild ass guess. Could be more than a thousand off.
Other people in this class have said their trucks weigh around 5300-5400 lbs. So a little up or down from there. Everyone needs the same stuff on their rigs.

Charly Brown yes it did and finished 14 with Bryce Menzies as team mate and because of the finish Andy McMillan won the points championship.

It's just in gear ratios, change that out it will do 200 mph, but not good for dez racing.........am sure it's as fast as you would ever need in dez.....damn love to take it for spin tho,
It has a limit based upon horsepower to weight but the real limiting factor is aerodynamic drag. On trophy trucks, there's a LOT! 150 is a big number. You aren't going to do 200 without a windshield.

You have no idea what you are talking about. That Dougans engine is over $50k with Motec electronics, the sequential trans is at least 40k. It's easily $200k just in parts, plus probably 3,000 man hours of work. Go ahead and build one and show us how cheap and easy it should be.
