You believe you are entitled not to pay for the fruits of labor, if the hands are not attached to people you agree with. Why listen at all then? Why would you want the music at all? From the clues you’ve dropped in your comment, I’d say your “network” is a network of Somali Pirates.

This should be an inspiration for future generations. Despite the pandemic, everybody is celebrating - so ALIVE! So festive. And BTW, don't those ladies have a cute sort of 'sexiness' in their swagger? 😏

It's that everything that I see
Of the world outside is so inconceivable
    Often I barely can speak
Yeah I'm tongue tied and dizzy
And I can't keep it to myself
What good is it to sing Helplessness Blues?
Why should I wait for anyone else?
And I know, I know, you'll keep me on the shelf...
I'll come back to you soon, myself."

    Summer all over
    Blame it on timing
    Weakening August water
    Loose-eyed in morning
    Sunlight covered over
    Wading in sight of fire
    [Chorus 1]
    And we're finally aligning
More than maybe I can choose
    [Verse 2]
    Soon as I knew you
    All so wide open
    Wading inside of fire
As if I just saw you
    Cross Second Avenue
    Wading in waist-high water
    [Chorus 2]
And I love you so violent
More than maybe I can do
    [Outro]
    Now we're finally aligning
More than maybe I can choose

Lovely to hear a (tribute) reference to Richard Swift, amongst the others named. I wonder how many know of his work and cannon, other than - it seems - fellow musicians? Such a wasted talent and sad life, right from that ruinous abusive step-fathered childhood. Seems he never really recovered.
This song is beautiful and yet so tragic when you think that the lyrics sum up his feelings about his last days and how he would go.
    th-cam.com/video/aFZsm-Luh1s/w-d-xo.html
On a selfish level its a shame not to hear more from him and that wonderful collaboration with the Arcs

Masking in times of a global health crisis is at least to be expected since it was a necessity. Emblamatic of the times. Not to be politicized like it was in america

Man, I fell off with Fleet Foxes for WAY too long. I didn't even know they did a follow up to Crack Up. But hey, all that means is I get to have a whole new love affair with all of this as well as revisit the old stuff. Robin's voice is SO special. I'm glad he made his way back to music after his little stint in college land 😛

Extraordinary performance. The mask wearing at the beginning, with a solemn setting and an ethereal tune was jarring. It reminded me of the difficult and strange times we are currently living through. It also reminds me that life goes on. Art and music and the feeling of soul goes on. By the end of a remarkable solo performance and the masks return, this time the jubilation of all performers is clearly on display despite the imposition of masks. This time what I feel is courage, optimism and the place of joy that is there for all of us to tap in to despite, and in the face of, an uncertain future. Thank you Foxes. Well done.

Beatriz, if you’re reading this, I would love to know more about the background resonance you captured in between tracks. I listen to this loud, and wonder if it was audible by ear in the cathedral. There’s just something about it that boggles my mind. Also, please have someone pound on that pipe organ next time. Please do this again, for it is absolutely one of the most incredible recordings EVER!

I was thinking the same. When I saw the mask (put off watching until last night, then revisited) on how amazing they all sound. This video might have been sent up to meet requirements of the time, but the separation and precautions taken and used will show a moment in our history, as well as fit beautifully with the idea of having to be separated while staying connected.

Just when I thought this band can't top their first album, they bequeathed on unsuspecting listeners, their deepest album, Helplessness blues, now this new offering is a rather esoteric one. So I am wondering if I will get used to it. The chat says this is a great album. Hearing him live is quite something else in this video. I will be remiss if I say I enjoyed their concert in brooklyn a decade back. The production was not good and the bass too heavy. This video sounds good though so they've worked that out.
