There's a documentary called "The Last Shaman" I watched on Netflix and the main character sings a song to the shaman towards the end, one of the lyrics went something like"Sean brother of mine have you missed your connecting flight?"....my brother Sean was flying to Missouri to start a new life and I wanted to send him that song for his journey but couldn't find the name of the song, a few months later I was sending music to this girl I had been talking to and she sent me a song called "Blue Ridge Mountains" by the Fleet Foxes and when I heard that line I got chills because that was the song I had been searching for, I never did send that song to Sean but on his first day back in Georgia he passed away, I was wanting to play it at his funeral but I didn't have a say in the matter but I like to think Sean can hear it when I play it, I Love You And Miss You Brother
@@danielgranato9002 thank you as well, I thought I replied to your comment this morning but I guess it didn't post, if I ever cross paths with Robin and am lucky enough to meet him I'm gonna tell him this story
Been a fan of this band since 2010 and finally saw them over the weekend for the first time in Spokane WA, and it was one of the best concerts I have been to.
Love the 2000's indie era. Fleet Foxes (along with Bon Iver, Decemberists, Iron and Wine, Band of Horses, Okkervil River, Grizzly Bear, My Morning Jacket... this list could go on and on!) were a huge part of that.
I'm hoping that era comes back around. I feel for the last few years "indie rock" has kinda been seen as passé and I think it's a shame because there was just so much interesting, creative, beautiful music from those artists
Love how you can hear each album play and how it has inspired Robin in small or not-so-small ways, yet his music as Fleet Foxes still manages to sound consistently his own.
that arthur russell bit sounds like a caffeinated jim croce. can't wait to check out more. such a recommendation is precisely why i watch these "Bags". cheers to amoeba.
It’s ironic that Labi Siffre is his first pick because their voices sound nearly identical 😳 like idk if I could tell them apart... they’re both great!
Vinyl - I must say that the Fleet Foxes sound sooo good on vinyl. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and music Robin. Not so surprised he has some jazz in there.
Pre watch comment - Please surprise me with something good. Post watch - Points for the Street Fighter reference. Nothing really surprised but Tim Buckley 👌
Never knew he lived in a white box, that’s probably why his vocals are so huge sounding
“A Great Roadtrip album” said by someone who makes great roadtrip albums is high praise
someone who wrote an album literally on a roundtrip
interesting home, robin
I guess he lives with John Oliver

Robin has a brother named Sean
Sorry for your loss
@@Bloodbarn Thank You
It's called Blue Ridge Mountains. It's my favourite Fleet Foxes song, by the way and it was written for his brother. Sorry for your loss, mate

I personally think this video is a proof that Robin and Fleet Foxes are not indie, but their own folk genre.
Robin does sound very much like Labi Siffre in his singing! Def gonna check this album out
First. . . to say this band has been super important to me, and love to get recommendations from him.

Don't forget midlake and radical face!
@@mathy906 yes! I love so many indie bands from the 2000's *too many to mention.
El Mal Querer still blows my mind, been on repeat for almost 3 years now.
Woah that first record sounds just like fleet foxes.
was just gonna comment this, can see the influence
Always thought that Robin sounded like Labi Siffre. Especially on the song Cannock Chase, and the album Crying, Laughing, Loving Lying.
Love how you can hear each album play and how it has inspired Robin in small or not-so-small ways, yet his music as Fleet Foxes still manages to sound consistently his own.
Tim Buckley ❤️ one of my favorite singer song writer.
Tim Buckley, what a great artist!!
I've listened to tons of Jeff Buckley's music, but not his father's. I might listen to some of Tim's stuff when I get the chance
Ahhh me and my friend were just talking about how the fleet foxes concert we went to was a religous experience for us 😭
He is so precious, wow
Always great thoughtful and interesting choices by robin

Cool records and all, but do turntables even exist in the Void?
Great group. Great sound!
If I were him I’d just fill my bag with fleet foxes, they are excellent!
I love the ecleticisity of these selections... TY!
I understand what you mean and agree, but that's not a word.

He's so right about Arthur Russell's music, there are so many beautiful gems hidden in these records.
Nothing better than genius discussing genius.
Robin!
Beautiful... but what else can you expect from mr. Pecknold
He must live in that white room, cream sung about...
I didn't see any curtains, but you may be on to something here.
Robin and I have the same birthday
I wonder if Robin knows that Kanye sampled Arthur Russell for “30 Hours”?
Robin lives in a white box
It would be great to get the whole band in some day and do a What's In My Bag
Interesting stuff to check out. I love Happy Sad, particularly Buzzin' Fly.
Picking up Labi Siffre asap. Always excellent recommendations ❤️
Let’s fucking go
is this the fleet foxes alternative for the black lodge?
