- Patch 7 has finally arrived, with a ton of cool stuff. Unfortunately, Larian saw fit to break another Vendor Bag Exploit...so today I'm going to show you 2 working strategies you can use to get the cool items you want.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THESE IN HONOUR MODE, unless you are extremely careful about who is around to witness your crimes. Messing this up in HM can end your run, so it may not be worth it.

For me it's basically back to getting gloves of thievery early level 3, and using Volo as an ATM.

Are gloves of thievery better than gloves of power for the +1 to sleight of hand?
@@LordZues101 Advantage is better than +1, so unless you can stack these (cat's grace via enhance ability till you get the cloth), at least for pickpocketing, you want the gloves of thievery.
I have those two on switch on hotbar on any dex mode, so I switch between battle gear and nonbattle gear.

Usually I don’t use exploits but the bag exploit was such a good and useful timesaver for repeat playthroughs. It will be missed

Over all I am very pleased with the toolkit/mod mgr. The documentation for the toolkit aint too bad considering, but still lacking in the finer details.

Yeh having a pre-patch 7 file set up was definitely the best play.

took me oreginaly when i was grinding gold like 148 h first playtrught was fun and all but for another round its not worth to go and do it "the right way " its like vid author told ez extra 30/40 h of pointles gamplay
Oh poor Larian, they can’t get rid of us robbing vendors all too easily.
Much easier way: bind a weapon to someone, preferably something expensive. Put a normal weapon in the barter box. Swap that weapon with the bound weapon equipped on your character. Bound weapon will never dissapear from the box even if they pay you so you can buy all the stuff and then spam sell the bound weapon to get ur gold back.
Yeah, but a LOT of unneccessary clicks. That is what I am trying to avoid.
I just tried and didn't work, once you put your character's bound weapon in the barter box, it is no longer equipped, and so it can be sold, given to someone else, sent to camp and so forth. I tried with a cheap dagger to test.
@@gianlucamorelli Odd. I've been using it. It still works for me. Are you dragging the unbound weapon into your inventory and dropping it on your equipped bound weapon?
@@clivedoe9674 mmm maybe I am doing it wrong, but I don't get it maybe. So, I have a bound weapon equipped, I am at a vendor's trade screen with the barter option toggled. What's next? 😂
@@gianlucamorelli Put a non-bound weapon into your half of the barter screen. Then drag it and drop it on to your bound weapon to simultaneously equip the non bound weapon and put the bound weapon into the barter screen.
While this is more tedious ... I feel like this doesn't feel like an exploit ... because the vendor DOES drop a 'random # of items in their inventory' ... and since it's a singular bag and probably an armor/weapon piece... *Shrug* ... 🙂

you can do the 'hold person' way even in crowded areas. you need to use darkness to block the vision of those surrounding the vendor, and they need to have a sufficient distance from the vendor because they may hear the 'hold person' spell and then attack you.
You can also use subtle spell if you’re a sorcerer!
I wouldn’t use the bag glitch if when you took out a vendor their stuff didn’t disappear. Makes no sense.
Some of the consumables and maybe even a piece of equipment might be destroyed when you kill them, realistically...
But killing a vendor and they only drop like 3 things is nonsense.
The first strategy is quite effective, but if you ask me, that's not really an exploit, because you use game mechanics as intended by the developers.
The only reason I consider the first to be an exploit is the fact that the vendor is holding a backpack with 50 tons of shenanigans in it.
Now, if it WERE a Bag of Holding...no problem. But it doesn't make much sense this way.
I don't consider either method to be cheating.
Alternatively, you can make a level 3 warlock. Bind pact weapon, multiselect the weapon and a item to add the bind pact weapon to wares. Finally go to each vendor and spam sell wares.
Bingo you can take all their gold and never lose your weapon. Plus you can buy all their stuf and just spam sell wares to get your gold back :D.
You can bind weapons even to an Eldritch fighter, which is my current build for Lae'zel. Imma gonna try this trick later when I play

@@Fabio-zc7bs update: I tried with Warlock, just finally found a use for Wyll 😂. I levelled him up to level 3, picked "Pact of the blade". This gives the "Bind pact weapon" ability. I then equipped him with a weapon, used the ability to bind it (it's a permanent bind, so, even if you can have your warlock wielding other weapons, that specific bound weapon remains permanently in your inventory, you can't even pass it on to any other party member). After that I went to a vendor, put an unbound weapon from my inventory into the barter trading list, then with the mouse I clicked on that weapon and dragged it over to the bound and equipped weapon, which causes them to switch place. Once I did that, I just clicked on Balance offer, making the vendor add money to the barter, and clicked on confirm. What happens is that the money come in, and the weapon remains in your side of of the barter list! So you can continuously make the vendor add money to balance the offer and make him pay without actually taking the weapon. After a test with a cheap weapon I gave my warlock an expensive one I wasn't using, so that I can clear the vendor's pockets much faster, and then I used the gold gained like that to buy all the goods I wanted from him. Overall it's not as quick as the old method, but it's still easy and effective. I suggest, if you don't intend to use a warlock in your party, to just keep one ready at camp, most likely Wyll, and just let him into the party to do this operation, and then send him back to camp until you need him again. Hope this helps!
im sure it still works, but this same hold person exploit can be done with the selune's dream amulet and feign death spell
Feign death works only on allies so I guess you gotta pay the vendor first till he becomes your ally but the selune's dream one I gotta try
Honestly, now that mods are trivial and there are some that give you loads of stuff when you get to camp and also some that make consumables not be consumed after use, I don't imagine I'll be wanting for money anymore.
I still really liked these ideas. I might like to gamble on putting vendor items on a bag in the cases I expect a vendor might die, last light inn being the first example that comes to mind for me

With no bag exploit i will probably not do another playthrough. Sad but the time saving of this exploit was nice for those of us who have already gotten the foehammer achievement
Keep an eye on the mod manager for Gold Mods. I've heard of a few already, and I bet they'll be available on console ASAP

The best Gold exploit in patch 7 without mod is the Warlock Pact Weapon trick. All you need is a level 3 Warlock companion to pact bound an expensive weapon, then Add it to Wares by selecting that bounded weapon with another item, right clicking the other item and adding them both to Wares. Then click on the other item and remove it from wares, only leaving the pact weapon in Wares. Now you can go to any vendor and buy his stuff then spam the "Sell Wares" button on the Trade (NOT Barter) menu to get your gold back without losing your pact weapon. After initial setup This lvl 3 Warlock companion with their Pact Weapon in Wares , essentially becomes your go to shopping person for the rest of the game. And BTW, this does not work with Eldritch Knight bounded weapons, ONLY WARLOCKS. It's only a bit more annoying than the previous bag trick, but it works well enough. And if you're already playing a pact Weapon War Lock, it's free.
I don't know why Larian keeps wasting development hours trying to patch gold exploits, it's a single player game, if people wanna cheat, it doesn't effect others. And If someone wants to role play the game as a Rich Character, gold exploits allow them that choice. Not everyone should be forced to role play the game as a broke ass adventurer.
Damn, I wish I had thought of trying non-lethal attacks, but I thought everybody would stay hostile forever. I was doing the same thing but then taking my 1 in 20 chance to steal the bag.

Honestly I tried to do things where you don’t steal and just use a 22 charisma wyll to buy and sell and there is just no way you can actually buy gear you want from vendors for your party without stealing. At least not one that doesn’t involve you picking up every fork plate and penny you see. I just wished they reduced that price of stuff
You can actually change the vendor prices of items if you play in Custom mode!
I know it isn't exactly what you meant, but it is an option.
It is just a shame that vendors are so greedy. jacking the price up on everythiing. If you could get them to be Green (allies) then the price is drastically reduced.

If you're planning on buying out a vendor totally it's worth donating some stuff first. About 600 gold should get them almost in love with you. The net savings are worth it
@@Jules_Diplopiayou can "invest" in some merchants like damon by giving hime a bunch of gold in the early game you can then buy discounted items for your whole playthrough
Honestly I have made about 13 characters, got the golden dice and beat HM without any gold tricks or task manager, and I know what items i would be able to afford without exploits, so i give myself the gold I would have and items I would realistically be able to grab and just play the fun combat. Grabbing camp supplies off the ground for the 14th time is boring. I only played HM for the legendary actions so thank you larian for allowing me to play custom HM rules with a save file so i can revisit my favorite scenes finally

I have a Museum in my Camp Chest! Don't look like that! Others have a collection of Hands or Corpses! I have a Library and a Museum, don't judge me! 🤣

I just ended up turning a character into the ultimate pick pocket and splitting their gold in the barter menu so it only takes like a 1-3 roll to loot it. bought big ticket items that were like 15+ rolls and stole the gold. added an extra 10ish mins to every encounter with a new vendor so i can get their items but its all canon. or install a mod that allows you to create gold with a cantrip. either way. solid guide here!

Nooooooo lol! There are other vendors you can use for this strategy though, so not a huge deal.

I've been using this all times.
There's traders you eventually have to kill.
Don't need to farm them but as you go with your longrests they reset as well.
That way I had tons of money with garth, the gith and the bugbear at moonrise.
It's annoying probably. But if you do it a couple of times it's already enough. Doing it more only adds consumables, food and money to the unique items the vendors had.
When you reach act 3 you're so rich you don't need to to it again.
You can set up the Warlock shop exploit by respec at level 3, set it up, then spec back, and it's bugged forever so you can just take all their gold with a couple clicks 😅
this is a good way to have multiple people use the same equipment, like 4 rangers all using titan string bow with risky ring, etc. Really good exploit!
Really? Rare equipment like the Titan string bow gets cloned? Though certain items were unique
@@gianlucamorelli They don't. Merchants have unique items that don't restock (such as the Titanstring Bow and the Risky Ring) and non-unique items that do restock (such as generic weapons and armor, most potions, etc).
Theres a mod called EasyCheat that allows you to choose how much gold to spawn in your inventory
I love exploits and how they work in all games. Just for the science you know. It's cool to see people finding exploits. But if you guys play on PC, why don't you just use a trainer to get unlimited money so you can just go there and buy all the items you need? You don't even need to use it all the time. Just run it, get like 999.999 gold or whatever the trainer has and then save and never use the trainer again. You have gold for everything. No exploits, no hassle and shit. If you wanna cheat, cheat the right way
The vast majority of players will never touch mods or any kind of files they have to download outside of the game itself.
They just won't do it. Doesn't matter how much easier or more effective it might be.
@@PanicRolling Well yeah but if you're on PC, it takes literally 2 minutes to save yourself from 1 hour of exploiting for no reason. Although if someone is on console, I guess I get it.
Maybe I have to use this exploit secretly with my friend on multiplayer so he doesn't realize I cheated otherwise he'll whine I ruined our save 🤣
you can add a warlock pact weapon to your wares by unequiping it, then select it and another item, then sell it infinitely, then buy the stuff you want then sell wares till you gold is full again
I mean, why would I use that strat to steal 30K worth of items if I can just use that strat to put all the items I want in the bag to get them for free... xD

Might I suggest just playing custom settings? You can turn the slider down on the multiple vendors charge to buy and sell. If you do that, you will have no trouble affording everything your heart desires from the jump. If you're hunting for your honor mode achievement, this won't work, but for us sickos on playthrough 30, it really shouldn't matter and will be much more convenient.
100% agree. There is also a fully functional gold mod available on the mod manager now! I'm making a video about it as we speak.
Mods now out also. Im pretty sure you wont have to worry about gold if you dont want to.

This worked in patch 6 too. I had a whole party with Dwarven Splint by sack farming the bugbear in act 2. Long rests also reset the inventory in patch 6 (haven't had a chance to play patch 7 yet)
FYI, the Warlock bound weapon vendor exploit still works just fine, and it's far more efficient (in my opinion) that all that stuff with the bags. Pretty much unlimited gold and thus items. :)
Or the other way is u can just stay in patch 6 if u playin in it on steam and u can still use the same method as before

I love watching the Bag war between players and Larian, but I'll just stick to my auto clicker method thank you very much. It's super easy and my guess unfixable since its a bug in the way the interface works.

It's really hard being a hoarder in every single game we play.

with npcs who are alone you dont need any exploits. And with npcs who are in a group this does not work
I always end up with way more gold than I can carry like 40-50 lbs gold stacks

is there a special way to place the items in the bag? i highlight like in the video, but they dont transfer over to the open bag i sell to vendor
I'm just clicking and dragging them after highlighting them all. I'm not sure if there's a way to do it on a controller, if that's how you're playing.

I just had that same thought a few minutes ago! I'm not sure, but that would be a suuuuper good move if you wanted to set up a few runs with a ton of cash.
Should work fine as your saves just pass over to new patch. So you should keep all inventory items on startup on new patch.

I just downgraded my game back to patch 6. Mod Manager software just couldn't load profiles when my game was on patch 7 therefore I couldn't use my mods probably. Playing without mods is very uncomfortable to me so I'd rather play the old patch. (My character also looks uglier without the mods LOL)

A bit of mental gymnastics is needed, but I just consider it a time saver. I could loot and sell everything I find, easily. Or I could save some time this way and achieve the same thing.
I understand what you mean though, and I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to use these exploits.
I'm a console player, so this exploit won't work for me. Do you know if the pact of the blade exploit still works on patch 7 ?
I just tried this out on PC and it works for me :)
If you're talking about the pact of the blade + extra attack, it still works, It's only disabled in honor mode.

it use to be really easy because the nonlethal blow would knock her out based on her human form HP and it woudlgnt put her into hag form. not sure if that still works in patch 7 though

Most of us have done the “slog” playthrough with picking up tons of trash to sell and / or leveling a thief to pickpocket. Being on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th playthrough the grind is not fun.

That means hating the game after awhile and moving on to something else or find workarounds so you can stick around and enjoy different runs.
You are on your own on this one boss. Sorry but I'm not interested in a game with a broken economy where its takes hours to get enough gold to buy one fucking piece of gear. I have a life and only a few hrs max a day to play. Nobody like me will spent their time trying to grind that out in a single player game, until they are insane or its their first playthough.
@@zzFlare Then U are playing it wrong. It does NOT take hours to get gold to buy gear. EVER HEARD OF SLIGHT OF HAND? You can literally steal 10 pieces of armor or weapons in the first 1-2 hours of playing.
