How to Build a Door Alarm System that Calls You When Opened

Hello in this video we will learn how to use the GSM A6 or SIM800L modules with arduino to make a call when someone or burglars try to sneak into the house. The call is triggered by the reed-switch that when the magnets attached to the door or window is pulled away as the window is opend.

This is an interesting video. I am wondering if it is possible to use this as an alarm system for a car alarm. I just found out thieves can open the trunk of my 2019 Chevy Malibu without setting off the alarm system and have stolen the valuables in my trunk. At one occasion we found the trunks of late model Chevrolet (Cruze , Malibu) all open. Do you think you could make something like this for that purpose?
