Hello my beloved TH-cam family. In this video, I am making Steamed Rice Cake using leftover rice. This is a very popular breakfast and tea time snack that is widely adored by all races in Malaysia. There are many varieties of Steamed Rice Cake that we are familiar with in Malaysia. The Indian version of Idli and Wattalappam. The Chinese version of Bak Tong Gao and Guai Shu Shu. And, the Malay/ Indonesian version of Apam Nasi (rice) which is exactly what I am sharing with you on this video.
I have tried this several times and failed before. But, not anymore with these measurements and tips. It just works like magic every-single-time and you're going love it like Doraemon's obsession for Dorayaki.😁❤
Kindly refer to the key ingredients of this recipe & its measurements as listed below.
INGREDIENTS for Steamed Rice Cake / Apam Nasi Gebu (Vegan)
• 1 cup rice (cooked and chilled)
• 2 cup water / as needed (upto 1/2 cup only)
• 1 cup sugar (reduce/ increase as per your tastebuds)
• 1 cup all purpose flour
• 2 cup rice flour
• 1 tbsp dry yeast
• 1 tsp fine salt
• oil as needed (to grease moulds)
Prep Time: 10-20mins
Cooking Time: Steam for 15mins
