For a history buff from New York I would recommend "Gangs of New York", directed by Scorsese, and starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Cameron Diaz. Set mainly in 1863, The notorious Five Points neighborhood, a piece of Lower Broadway and a section of Upper Manhattan were built from scratch on the 99 acre lot of Cinecittà in Italy. Their creation is fascinating in itself.

Martin Scorsese has a bunch of great movies. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, Gangs of New York, Shutter Island and The Wolf of Wall Street are some of his most well known other than The Departed. Goodfellas, Casino and Shutter Island are probably my favorite outside of the one you just watched. I highly recommend watching any of these!

Mark Whalberg (to me) reclaimed his Boston heritage and was the good guy in a grey movie and more importantly a hero for what we will call a “marginalized city” *cough cough* perfect film, still can’t believe the fucking outstanding casting
*sees Matt Damon* "This guy is famous, yes?" You know he's definitely been busy in life if he don't know who Damon is. My brother, that's Jason Bourne, Will Hunting, Linus from Oceans 11
What class is this? Its a masterclass on film making and story telling. Martin Scorsese is a legend in film making. Taxi driver, goodfellas, wolf of Wallstreet, the irishman, gangs of new york, raging bull, casino.
Please do other Scorsese classics if you havent seen them. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas and my personal favorite The King of Comedy, in particular.
As a Bostonian I have to say the stigma of Boston being a terrible place to live is something this city hasn't been able to shake. Was it bad in the 60's and 70's yes it was. It's not anymore. I just think it's something that people around the country heard and just assume it's true still. I think it's a great place to live.
As a New Yorker myself, Boston is beautiful. Yes the corruption is rife especially in the police dept. but it’s honestly not very far off from ny in those terms. Like in any state, there’s areas you stay away from. But avoiding the city as a whole for issues we ourselves have is a waste.

I read the final scenes as the letter to keep for two weeks was an insurance policy - essentially "contact Dignam and pass him this letter and the contact details for my lawyer (who has a box of tapes and papers) should I have... 'an accident'..." - then Costello trying to take in Sullivan himself, with Bliss who he had called for assistance... and that going poorly but only because of another unknown dirty-rat cop... (we know there were two LEO inside Francis' outfit and dirty rats inside the department). I believe the guy who was shot at the shoot-out at 344/314 was a cop - 'Ask me why I didn't turn you in?'... then found and identified as a cop after being dumped in the marsh.... I buy that at face value as true, and don't believe that this was a lie planted to confuse... Not necessarily from Quinlann's unit, but from another task force not speaking up broadly about it's activities... just as much as Quinlann's hiding of Costello's identity, and the FBI are *known* to be doing with Francis. The psychologist knows that Sullivan is full of it... maybe knows that he directly was responsible for the death of her child's father - at least the one she wants it to be... She might even know what Dignam knows and what in general terms he intends to do... they are no longer together and she hasn't spoken to him about 'the baby' since she locked herself in the bathroom. Dignam is taking revenge on the dirty cop who is 'virtually untouchable' due to his success at taking down the 'mole in the department' and his praise of Costello and Bliss who 'the mole' murdered... He was also convicted enough in doing the right thing to resign, rather than expose his contacts - so I strongly doubt he is also dirty.... that wouldn't join up with his other actions.... but he does was Justice, of the swift and certain kind... and has avenged Quinlann and Costello, and 'got the rat'.

He said 314, yes, but he also said Washington Street, not Wash street. Great freakin movie!
Boston isnt bad racially ,,,that was 50 years ago... grow up will ya.
16:10 - How would we know? Your editor cut the audio. Sadly, unwatchable. One of the best reactors with the worst editor. Watch the vids of your peers.
You are supposed to have watched the movie before watching someone react to it obviously. If he leaves in too much it will be flagged for copyright. Singing is especially noticeable so no. Good editor. Bad comment. Watch the movie first and then watch the reaction and you'll get what he's talking about. He might have full reactions on petreon for you to watch.. but if he did it like you wanted to, this video would have been gone.
@@chrisnorris7527 of course I’ve seen the movie. Didn’t memorize the dialogue though.
Nobody cares, lil bro
The patheticness of your censorship is unbeaten....
I like watching you homie but have you ever been told you say “guys” too much? Because you DO!!! can’t stand it. You don’t need to say that word. We know that there are more than one of us.
gangs of new york!!!!
Barry is the best show
The other amusing part is that everyone that dies is marked with an "X" in their scenes
😯🤯😂☺️
Amazing Movie
