    We did a compete front end rebuild on my buddy Ryans 2003 Tacoma.

    Since you were replacing the ball joint and the upper control arm it would have been easier to take an angle grind and cut the ball joint shaft. The flush cut makes it easier to press out the ball joint cup.
    I like to support the lower control arm and just back the jack a half inch under the lower ball joint, back out the upper ball joint nut almost all the way, spray it with Deep Creep, and wack the upper control arm horizontally where the ball joint mounts with a 5 lbs hammer to shock it. The spring on the strut provides the downward force and the jack catches the lower arm while the nut catches the upper ball joint. This works every time for me and I live in the snow zone with salted roads.

    I don't mind the Tacoma content. I've had an '03 for 18 years and just picked up a 97 FZJ80 so I'm happy either way :)

    At that mileage should have done the wheel bearings while you were in there.

      We definitely should have- unfortunately I ran out of time and we didn’t have the press to get the old one out. He’s having someone do it for him because I’ve since moved out of Vegas 🥵
