    That phase of the renault .a lot of cause is the scuttle panel.water running down windscreen into plastic cover onto head n into injectors.usual problem .

    I bought the cheaper injector tool you mentioned. We found that by warming the engine first and then working on getting the injector out, we had much better success with it. If the engine's cold, then the injector's more likely to be stuck. I know you're probably saving yourself a headache by passing on it, but thought I'd add my thoughts because once that injector was replaced, my van was running beautifully.

      Nice one and good to know the other tool works well. Think if I bought the van, it was the thought of doing the gearbox too that swayed the decision really.

      @@garageofdad Ahh gotcha, I didn’t even think about the gearbox. Well, I thought it was worth sharing as I know the injectors can put some people off. I believe the cheaper one we bought was around £200 (£90 second hand).

    £1500 for a crew cab with double sliding door. 145k on the engine though but they fetching more today for sure. Great video. I learned a lot. Considering buying either a Crew cab for both sliding doors then remove the rear seats and put a bulkhead in for work. Unsure whether to go for a 2014 old shape 2L or a 2015 new shape Trafic 1.6 sportive or a Vivaro bi Turbo. Probably be too expensive for me to find any with the double sliding doors but what would you suggest is the best one to go for? I do courier work but I still like the odd weekend away etc.

      @garageofdad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I suppose buying the newer van is always the best option. But the old Vivaros are solid and generally reliable and easy to work on (this one was an exception) The beauty is, you can convert them exactly as you want and, as I use mine for my work, I have the bed raised at the rear so I can use it as a van during the week. Good luck with your search & conversion.

      @@garageofdad Hi there. Thank you for your reply. As of today, I am a new owner of a 2014 traffic sport SWB in black ofc. I am no mechanic and really needed the van for work so purchased it after a good test run. Everything works as it should, however, with me never driving the older shape the steering feels a bit stiff or tight only when in the central position? Perfectly fine once I get past a few degrees. No wining from steering fluid & no leaks, just wondered if it's how they are or I need to look into it more? Cheers.

      @@PCG2022 If all is well when you buy them, you can keep them serviced and should incur no faults. As usual, it's neglect that causes problems. I'd check all the steering joints and alignment. (jack it up - both wheels - and lever about and pull the wheel to and fro)They are all relatively easy to do on the Traffic - Great vans!!

      @@garageofdad sorry to hijack the post , my van which is a 2006 traffic has developed a power loss at low rpm , with the glow plug light coming on intermittent at around 60mph , engine idle is smooth cleaned the egr , maybe the maf sensor , im not sure , ive had the van from new and apart from replacing the starter which was a real pain to change the van has performed great until now.

      @@fromabovetheycame8137 Have a look for the rubber pipe as in one of my other videos. However, that would put the 'check injection' light on. Yours sounds like it needs glow plugs which is not too bad a job to do (he says having never done it before!!) Tell tale sign is delayed starting in the morning with a smokey exhaust.

      Hi bud, great video. I'm in a similar position myself. I'm thinking of selling it now as I've already chucked £700 into it. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up selling it for? As i have no idea how much I should sell mine for. It's not knocking as bad, but on idle every few mins, it will make like that fuel knock you mentioned. If I rev it, it will sometimes be normal. Otherwise, the rev needle bounces on the way down. Drives ok, just nothing happens when I press the pedal, and then all of a sudden, it reads the pressure on the pedal.@@garageofdad

      Hello. Try some injector cleaner (Redex or similar) in the fuel tank and take it for a good drive. See if the noise quietens down.

    My 2015 1.6 biturbo may need your help if you dont mind... it had map fault. Air flow fault. And a billion other air related rubbish. Also check injection and anti pollution warning. Dpf has been cleaned properly. Map sensor changed for vauxhall item. Air flow changed for vauxhall one. Hooked up a boost pipe better that i wasnt happy with. Tried to clean upstream pressure pipe. Van now revs freely sitting still. Wudnt go above 2k before. But now sadly its still struggling... there was no smoke coming from exhaust pre-dpf cleaning. It was fine a day ago. Now just smoke everywhere. No faults back and sluggish.
    Van starts perfectly. On the spot it will rev just past 4 but still feels sluggish.... i dont have a smoke tester to test for leaks.
    Any recommendations would be greatful. Im just going in circles here. Albeit a mild improvement.

      Have you tried a cam or crank sensor?

    • @GhostTrader37

      @garageofdad I havnt. Van is on 92k. Allegedly well serviced my issue is there's so many sensors I don't know which one is which. There is a sensor down beside the pressure pipe for turbo. Intact there's two. Really need a diagram so I know what I'm looking at and ordering.
      It's so weird the van runs just lovely. Until under load and it sluggish. I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure why it's like that under load. Had a new biturbo both of them at 70k. Thanks for the reply👍 also iam using a launch diagnostics tool so it does read everything. As for live data no clue what pressure fuel should be at or boost pressure. However boost pressure drops on live data when I stick my foot down. What a nightmare my van is lol

      @garageofdad even if you could tell me what you would maybe do next or check? I can have a look no problem. I've worked on loads of vehicles but my engine bay knowledge is limited. I can fit suspension radiators etc etc no problem. So this van has been a steep learning curve. And 1500 quid in tools to diagnose it myself after 4garages couldn't find the problem. I appreciate your reply.

      @@GhostTrader37 Blimey! Forums are a place where I usually find answers but you have to do a lot of digging. My son's car had a similar problem and by pure chance we noticed a tiny hole in one of the vacuum pipes that connected to the turbo actuator. Replaced the pipe and solved the problem. Maybe worth a look. My old Audi also had a huge problem running and turned out to be a massive vacuum leak in it's old brake servo.

    • @GhostTrader37
      @GhostTrader37 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@garageofdadI have been on the vauxhall forums. Tried all they could suggest. I will hunt for vacuum leaks. I can hear the servo when I press the brake ignition turned off. But the brakes are fine. Just a noticeable sort of suction. Any tips to find splits in pipes other than just a visual inspection? I must add someone has tried to take the egr valve. Bolts are gone but the egr is stuck solid on the Inlet. It's the egr under coolant bottle on the 1.6 biturbo. To be honest my engine sounds a bit like this video. I hope injectors aren't an issue on mine. Everyone prey for me haha

    Glow plugs don't make it run rough. They are only used to heat up when it's cold. They don't do anything in normal running.
    You could have done a simple leakback test on the Injector
