Native Nevadan here, we've got some pretty crazy back country. When people say there's nothing here, they only mean there's nothing along I-80 or I-15. Glad to have you do a video on this great state! (obligatory, it's pronounced Nuh-vad-uh)
Yeah, this was a beast to edit! We shot it in April, I chipped away at it over the summer, between videos, and then finally finished it last week. 8 days of footage and 1.5 tb of data... this video was a monster
Nevada offered us so much. Views, type 2 fun, epic sunrises and sunsets. More than that, it was a joy to spend yet another week with y'all in the woods. See you in AZ.
@@joshuabaker5712 it’s activity that's challenging or uncomfortable in the moment, but feels rewarding afterward. Pushing through adversity delivers a satisfaction comfort cannot.
Love this stuff. Highly entertaining. Immensely inspirational. Motivates me to get my rigs finished. Y'all really know how to make a viewer feel like they're part of the adventure.
I was in the movie "Postman" I was one of the armed guards when he was doing the poetry scene with the guy on the horse. It was filmed down in the Sahuarita pit mine.
SO.DAMN.GOOD. You guys always nail it with these BDR videos. Your trips, videography and team work are inspiration. Bravo! Can't wait for the next one!
My buddy had a really nice older one. Absolutely great vehicle to go camping in. He just recently go hit in it by a guy, almost head on, on the drivers side. Walked away from it without a scratch. But his Burban totalled.
Powerstop on my TJ. Nate thanks so much for the wholesome, realistic, high quality content that continues to inspire me even at my lowest points. Also to Powerstop & ONx we all appreciate you making things like this a reality.
Suburbans ride nice, have good flex, soft suspensions to climb rocks, parts commonly available, sleep well, climb into the back & stay warm, good windows, heavy duty...
The Chevy is just awesome!!! The articulation test at 30: was great. That silty stuff on the lake bed is crazy fun on a dirt bike when dry (except when you hit a rock underneath 😮)
Lucky i get austin as my back yard. And that's alkaline mud, i had the unfortunate experience probably in that same valley this spring also. Glad you had someone with you to help.
I moved to Utah this year back in march, greatest decision ive made ESPECIALLY for my want to offroad freely. The saltflats are amazing and anything pushing towards nevada is just amazing. ive barely scratched the surface of whats to come out here. Great video
I can attest to the raptor in the snow thing. My 19 5.0 f150 with raptor conversion has 35" MT baja boss a/t's with method 703 bead grip rims. When I air down to 5psi, I plow through feet of snow almost as well as my jeep on 37s and beadlocks. I rescued a 4runner in three feet of heavy snow on the weekend at the top of a mountain pass in CdA idaho and it crawled right through no problem where others with lighter, larger tired vehicles where spinning. The MT baja boss Ats are a really popular wheel up here for snow wheeling regularly.
It's awesome to see David still wheeling the suburban. I remember and have pictures somewhere running trails back when we were in college in TAMOR. Another great vid.
When I had my current set of MT Baja Boss ATs installed on my Method Bead Grips, one of them took 80psi to get seated. The others were in the 60-65psi range. But once seated, they have held great for me. This was another fantastic adventure.
This was fantastic Nate! I cant imagine the editing this video took. Also, made me realize just how important it is to roll with a crew and how different rigs can perform in different situations! Such a cool video!
Welcome to Nevada! The wheeling here can be a lot of work, but you did a good job of highlighting the reason why it's worth it! But I did get some serious anxiety watching this! Consider yourself lucky with the lake bed experiences, could have been a lot worse. And I'd like to encourage future visitors, if you are close to a town, stay in their motels and eat in their restaurants to support them. These small remote towns struggle to stay viable, and there's plenty of camping between them.
Looked like a excellent time, that mud you never seen before, is under most of our Salt pan's, always slushy, glad everything went well, can't wait for the next one, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Quality content as always. Also, Liquid Death is top tier refreshment power. Looking forward to the Series Land Rover snow adventures now that winter is here.
I'm a Nor Cal guy, but a bunch of family around Reno, Truckee, Stead, Sparks, Elko, Carson City, Silver Springs, Yerington, and a brother in Wellington. Spent a lot of time in Ruby Mts and around Lahontan res. Love the vid.
@ thought the same , but then Nate did a video explaining insurance gave him a decent chunk of coin & he was going to fix it … but you can still be right..
Cool vid! You got the FULL NEVADA EXPERIENCE! Have spent my whole life all over this state. Learned all about Nevada mud and snow and mountains and desolation from practically birth! ✌️😎
When I saw "Denio Junction" , I knew the video is starting in NEVADA. The vast majority of people are in Vegas and Reno, but the vast majority of Nevada is not in Vegas and Reno.
I used to work at a tire shop, you typically have to air up way higher than normal pressure for some tires to finally seat, and then you lower the air to where you want
Great trip! Some of those veiws were amazing. I have the front PowerStop kit(Tundra calipers & rotors) on my 3rd gen 4Runner. It made a huge difference! I recently did the front & rear kit on my RX350, which I tow my Aliner. It stops so good now. It's like the RX & camper are one. Outstanding product!
I can attest to your struggle with those tires. Hardest tires I have ever mounted, and took 60+psi to seat the beads on the rims as well. You’re not alone lol.
Nate … When you showed the Yota after the accident and the uncertainty of its future , as a fellow Taco wheeler I was saddened.. To see it back in action is awesome 😎 🤙🏼
As a Nevada native that has wheeled a bunch around the state there are some very unforgiving areas where you can get in a situation quick. That being said I would love to go do this trail
I have done a couple of solo trips into Nevada over the last few years. But not in conditions like what you guys were in. I still ran into trouble. Than the Lord, I was able to get myself out of it on my own.
In European mountains we just use snowchains, they protect wheels from sliding off-camber from the trails. Also key to stay on trail is to mantain slow but constant speed, in the moment You stop You will slide rear off the trail. Btw. Great choice for hot sauce!
Nice!! There are so many great places to off road in Nevada. Snow is fun to play in. Mud? Not so much. Airing the tires down that much I do not agree with, unless its on flat ground. The lowest I will go for mountain play is 10psi. But to each his own
Born and raised there but living in WA haven't had the chance to go back and do Nevada yet. Definitely going in the next couple years but I'll stick to the warmer weather months haha. Thanks for the vid!
That snow looks like no joke! I’ve been in a few sketchy situations in Colorado snow and I’ll tell you, I’m not a snow wheeling fan! At least not in the mountains off camber snow wheeling. I’m sure super flat ground snow wheeling is fantastic 😂
21:26 It would be really cool to see a weight reduction build series on a big girl like that. Goal being to cut weight down equal to something with a much smaller footprint. Maybe call it the Lighterlander build. I’d watch the hell out of that. Love my Powerstops on my TJ BTW.
Without cutting it apart, you can make a suburban about 6300. Small axles, stock tires, LS, ally transfer case, no sliders or bumpers or winch or gear. Just a people hauler. One tons, 40s, and all the gear around it adds up. Plus, there’s a lot of glass and steel. Lots of steel.
Most people highly underestimate the Nevada Backcountry. I grew up in Elko riding and racing motocross. I remember the first few times we started seeing off road guys up the canyon there I grew up (kittridge canyon) the road to the waterfall has become extremely washed out and was pretty hard riding when I was a young teenager. If people want to go outbacking in nevada I highly recommend picking either late may early June or wait until September when the brutal summer temperatures have started to subside. Thanks for the great video I'll definitely be subscribing!

Same. There's lots to see if you know where to look.
We had a ton of fun navigating our way through NV. The mountains were beautiful 👊
Nevada native as well. This state has some very cool places to adventure, wheel, hike, camp.
There are dozens of us!!! And shhhhhh it's a wasteland here, no one should come
I live in Elko I wish I could have met you!
People, including myself , often severely underestimate how critical it is to have someone with you during these kinds of adventures.
It's pretty dangerous. Even simple dirt road can be dangerous along. All engines need a water pump eventually for example 😁
As much as I like the builds, i do very much appreciate these overland videos add all the work you put in to them
Thank you 🙌. It's alot of work but I really enjoy this kind of project.
@@DirtLifestyleabsolutely amazing video though and I love the longer videos!
Amazing adventure and video! We hope everyone gets their tires dirty (or snowy!) this winter
Good to see a real truck on the channel again!! (Square Body Suburban)
Based on the rig you took, this video must have been sitting in the can for a while. Love these snow videos. 👍

Between this video and the last one really highlights the power to weight of a diesel for messy off-roading.
