I find the temperature of 118-120 deg C is fine. Once, I made it but stopped at a lower temperature and when I put it in the tray it was a bit soft & squidgy (should be “snap-able” in my opinion) so I popped it in the oven (cooling from making dinner so prob about 50 deg C) that was switched off so just cooling. Once it all cooled off it was perfect
Have not watched yet Pamela, but I will, been making tablet from a recipe I found online, so addictive but a little bit of home now and then. Washed down with IRN-BRU of course. Congrats on the 700, great job.
For this amount of tablet, I’d say 20 x 30 cm (approx) obviously a smaller pan will make thicker pieces and a larger pan will make thinner pieces. There is no exact or prescribed tablet instructions, it’s your preference too.
Making tablet is like playing golf. You hit a great shot and think you've mastered it then next time slice into the trees. I made great tablet for Halloween then tonight tried again and its just a big blob of brown sugar. It will not beat me! 😂😂
@PamelaMarshall oh aye the old cooker excuse 🤣 I've currently got a pot on as promised lassies who I work with I'd make some more. The things you do to keep folk happy 🤣
all you have to do to get perfect tablet is boil untill soft ball stage , its perfect every time , or get a sugar thermometer then you can be super accurate , 40 mins advice is terrible as every cooker gives of different amounts of heat my tablet is perfect at around the 20 mins mark now are near 40 mins
I made a video following my grans recipe, I’m not handing out bad advice. Three generations at 40mins, always perfect. Each to their own though. Thanks for your comment.
@@PamelaMarshall i didnt mean to sound rude , was just saying if you take a little mixture and put it in some cold water , after 10 seconds you should be able to make soft ball , if its to lose to make a ball its needs longer , once you hit the soft ball stage it will make perfect crumble tablet ,
@@stewartwilson1 no offence taken, I usually do the step where you take a bit out roll it in a ball in your hand and plop it in cold water, to see if it solidifies, but I forgot to film that bit. 😊
