  • We tried Red Rooster and loved it! The Sweet Heat Chicken is our favorite. We enjoyed trying the garlic chicken, chicken wrap, mashed potatoes, and corn. It was delicious and we will definitely go back.
We love going on walks, biking, and longboarding on the Brisbane cycleway. Near our home, we have such a beautiful conservation area where there are so many birds, trees, and plants. In this video, we show the simple fun we have as a family at the park, riding to the beach, and just enjoying being together.

it can be a bit strange at first eating chicken in Australia compared to USA because we don't genetically modify our chickens, nor bleach them unlike USA. I strongly recommend trying more local Charcoal Chicken places near where you are - you won't regret it. Similarly Chocolate in Australia tastes different than USA because our chocolate does not contain butyric acid as it does in USA (which is literally the same chemical in vomit), and our Coke is made from Cane Sugar, not Corn Syrup. Generally speaking USA fast food is made to taste good through chemicals, but worse for you.

So true! I am happy to know Australia has cleaner food.

Unfortunately Australian chicken for the most part is bleached or dipped in a chlorinated bath.

    • @tironibusmaximus6100
      @tironibusmaximus6100 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@julzhunt7790 all commercial chicken is chlorine washed. In fact it's been an EU requirement since 1997. In the US the bleaching is absolutely necessary, in addition to the genetic modification of chickens to grow big and fast, (which also stops chicken tasting natural hence the need for more chemicals and flavourings), the very cramped conditions means they have extremely high levels of salmonella and other disease. .

Same with Cheeses. I remember various American’s coming to Australia and commenting that our cheese is wrongly coloured. The reality is our cheese and those in most countries don’t have colouring.

I don't think even chicken in the US is genetically modified.
Very highly bred, and the 'breed' (actually a hybrid) is very unhealthy, but (as far as I know, and I have looked into it quite a bit, as chickens are a hobby of mine) not genetically modified.
Australian meat chickens are very similar.
Agree about all the rest though, and am very glad to live in Australia!

they are a great bird! We rescued one as a baby which had fallen out of its nest and was covered in green ants! We got it back to good health and let it go in the tree in our front yard and it has introduced all its family to us since. sO we now have about 5-6 butcher birds that come and sit with us if we go out on the patio. They don't expect or get food they just come and sit with us! 🤣

If you make it to WA or Vic - you should have a feed at Chicken Treat - similar to Red Rooster but I think is alot better.

in the 60s, 70s ect it was a big treat for australians to visit the local chinese resturant and have for desert either pineapple or banana fritters with a few scoops of icecream,, im surprised to see it carried on into the menu of contemporary redrooster items tbh *i havent eaten their food since the late 80s

It comes from the classic dish Chicken Maryland which is chicken served with a banana or pineapple fritter and chips. This is what the old Chinese restaurants used to have on their “Western food” section 😆

Growing up in Melbourne during the 80's we used to get Red Rooster every Tuesday after Kung Fu because it used to be half price chicken and chips day.
Go the old school Hawaian pack: Quarter piece of chicken, chips with a bannana fritter and pineapple fritter. I really miss the bananna fritter.
Try a local charcoal chicken place. And always choose chicken salt. .. and try to switch to metric. xx

    But it is more expensive.

      Yes.
However there could be a problem with this. When a Chick Fil A opened in Berkshire, England, it closed after six months. This was because of militant protestors. First they called for boycotts. The same thing would happen in Australia since we have vocal minorities who dominate certain narratives in public discourses. They will talk about their rights, and how they are discriminated against. They will complain about something. Then things are quickly done to placate them. I do not see how Chick Fil A would last in Australia.

You should introcuce your location, especially the beaches, there is more than 10,000 beaches in Australian and depending on where you are the weather and conditons are all different.

there really isnt "australian food" in the old days it would be loosely based on traditional anglo food which is pretty bland and basically just survival food lol, these days i think you would find a lot of modern australian food is a fusion of asian and other more flavourable cooking styles due to the multicultural nature of our society now days
