An American Family's Epic Experience at the "MegaMall" in Manila!

- Many Filipinos have told us that we need to visit the Manila Mega Mall. We had a fantastic evening enjoying this huge mall. There really were so many stores and so much to do. We had a blast.
We were on a quest to find Filipino souvenirs and were happy with what we found in Kultura in the SM store. We had fun trying on lots of traditional Filipino clothing and got some pretty good looking ones. Each of the boys ended up buying one. Then, the boys had fun looking around in the huge H&M store.
After shopping, we were hungry. We first stopped at the Snack Shack and were delighted with the portobello mushroom burger. The other boys wanted to try the dumplings at the Din Tai Fung restaurant. They were so delicious that all of us joined them. It was fun to watch the workers make the dumplings. Grace was downing them and loving every bite. It was a fun experience at a great restaurant.
Afterwards, we enjoyed some delicious black frozen yogurt for dessert. It was made from activated charcoal and the frozen yogurt along with all of the delicious toppings and fruits. We loved it and the black yogurt showed it all over our faces.
We found a play place that was so much fun. They had bikes and scooters that the kids could ride. Our favorite was playing on the stage with all of the balloons. We played keepey uppy and soccer. We were laughing and having a great time. To end the evening, we decided to buy a fun Nintendo Switch game.

Way back on your 2nd Day of School (in Costa Rica) video I remember noticing Jake's fancy socks were worn through and I thought it would be fun to send a bunch of new funky socks I have but there was no way to do it. I appreciate that you are loving the Barong shirts and ethnic style Filipino products. Not all Filipinos use Barong for ordinary occasions, only on special or formal affair like Weddings we usually use Barong. That’s cool. At MALL OF Asia there’s an ice skating ring, if you would like to learn skating on ice you can try it there, even kids like Gracie. Nearby is the Star City, a small theme park.
Sm Megamall has ice skating rink too :)

One thing I notice with your kids is they are so involve being together with their family. They have no devices in their hands I can see how active they are. So great seeing kids like them I am so impressed. Great family👍👏
I think you should have been directed to the main store of Kultura which is on the ground floor of Megamall, right across Wendy's and Hawker Chan, that store solely sells native stuff, you could have bought your native spoon over there. But if you want cheaper souvenirs, you have to goto the area of Quiapo (pronounced as Kee-a-po) in the city of Manila, underneath the bridge, lots of vendors selling local wares, Kultura sells refined ones. If your kids find the Barong itchy, ask them to wear a plain white shirt underneath, no local wears it without an undershirt.
Greetings from Toronto Canada ! Welcome to Manila ! I was there just a month ago but I was not able to visit MEGA MALL this time. Oh I am glad that you guys found KULTURA, they the BARONG TAGALOG is the traditional Filipino shirts, its see thru and its made from pineapple fibre. It look like your kids enjoying the place so much ! Oh wow you guys have burgers and now at the Chinese resto! I had that at MOA the last time, I am pretty sure that is the one that is MICHELLIN STAR RATED. Oh wow ! those are fancy ice cream after. And at the end its PLAY TIME !

No worries about foods in the Philippines. Because there have many many international restaurant in the Philippines from American, European, Persian, Asian etc. aside from delicious local foods..enjoy Philippines!

you really can spend the whole day at Megamall being a one stop mall. They got it all.
The best thing about the Megamall is the AC. You get to escape the Manila heat for a while. That's why malls are so popular especially in the hot season.
THOSE THINGS THAT YOU BOUGHT ARE THE PHILIPPINE'S NATIONAL SUITS/DRESS.. AND EVERYTHING IN THE KULTURA STORE IS MADE ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES. I love that you are enjoying the cultural items. The 'itchy' see thru shirts are our formal wear called 'barong Tagalog', like suits. They are typically worn over a plain colored collarless shirt or tank top and paired with dark pants. They're used for formal occasions or business settings. I hope you found the large wooden fork and spoon to hang on the wall.

You NEED to get this wooden sculpture of a man in a barrel from Baguio city. You raise the barrel from his body and a surprise pokes out at you. Even Filipinos buy that special wood souveneir its iconic

Benny That Barong is really too showing because that cultural dress is really made for summer wear. It's made of Pineapple fabric.It's a combination of Pre colonial Filipino and Spanish Clothing Styles. It looks good on you though.

If you visit again, check out kultura in mall of Asia! It’s waaaaay bigger and they sell stuff like local chocolate there! I’m not sure if it’s still there so I’m just recalling my experience from the last time I went there

Barong Tagalog is a men's national dress in the Philippines. When you wear a barong, you need to pair it with a plain white undershirt to make you look much better, feel better, and also avoid the itchy feelings. 😊

SM megamall which is located in Mandaluyong City in Metro Manila, used to be the biggest mall in the Philippines and was the first to have an indoor ice skating rink.

If you still have time, I would also suggest taking the kids to Puerto Galera. They would love the white sand beach. It’s only less than 2 hours from Manila and I could recommend an inexpensive place to stay.
