Hey guys, how's it going? Chris Connor here and welcome to another episode of filmmaker reacts for my channel. Seat back, relax and lets study the filmmaking techniques as well as talk about what visual effects can be pulled of within after effects! This week we are reacting and taking a look at two LEAGUE OF LEGENDS cinematic trailers!

Chris Connor the take over video has hidden symbols of team logos that lets you know that the people you see fighting the main character are actually pro players that are world champions in previous worlds and the person giving the main character the chip was Faker. He is a famous all-star in league of legends. I had plenty to learn in video making but thank you for the lessons

The final part of the video when you see the guy with the phone is the way of the company to say that on the world they are gonna launch league of legends for mobile or a beta for all the world. And the characters the main character fights here and on Rise's cinematic are actual characters of the game with the face of actual champions of the worlds.

16:34 Yes, that is because this particular character (a player of the team SKT T1, Faker) was the "final boss" in RISE, that's the only character these cinematics share
He is a literal kid watching an epic battle scene and I'm loving every second of it.
So to give you some background info Chris, the weapons go with the characters that certain people play in the game, and the characters are based of actual professional players. So the guy who helped him rise up and kept giving him the gem thing, goes by the name of faker. And you may have recognized him from rise, where he was the opponent at the top of the mountain.
Yup, in order they are:
- Faker (Hooded man); star player for South Korea Telecom (SKT) who helped his team secure 3 championships. Nicknamed "The Demon King".
- xPeke (Purple energy sword); snuck behind the enemy team to win the first World's tournament.
- Mata (Green Hook and Lantern); the only support player thus far to get MVP at World's.
- The next few don't have faces shown, but they are; JakeyLove (purple feathers), Crown (giant shadow), Bebe (sniper rifle), and Ambition (falling spear).
- The last one is Tian, playing the blind monk Lee Sin (yes, the name is a pun of "listen"), he was the MVP of last year's World's.

@@donncamulos6191 Yeah it's more player who won worlds on their iconic champs, not necessarly the one they won with. Like Xpeke played malzahar and Karthus against aAa in the first worlds final. But his kassadin backdoor is his most iconic moment.

@@donncamulos6191 no, no, no, no, no. if you are gonna add extra facts, at least make them be correct. xpeke did NOT backdoor on the first worlds, he did it at IEM, against SK, not against AAA, how you can get SUCH a well known story THIS wrong, is insane to me.
"the guy that gives him the thing" is called ingame "Faker" - his team SKT won Worlds 3 times.
He is like a god to the League of legends community.
He deserves all these honor moments.

your reactions have to be my favorites, love how you go into detail about everything but take the time to just watch and genuinely enjoy them at first without focusing so much on the technical stuff on the first watch
edit: also hope you'll react to some of the league stuff you haven't watched yet! i think there's still light & shadow, as we fall, the path, wild magic... there's also the other star guardians videos but i don't remember the names of those right now
"the character's design look similar to rise" yea dude, the guy on glasses is Faker, who also appears in Rise cinematic, as the final opponent. He's known as the best player in the world.
Basically the story revolved around the league of legends world championship like rise, the guy who is instructing the player going in is Faker considered the best League of Legends player of all time, however in recent years a number of younger players have risen to the status of best players and Fakers dynasty isnt as prominent anymore. His team didn't qualify for worlds this year, the foundation and road he paved for the sport is a metaphor in the video of him instructing newer world champions. Each player he faces in the game is a former world champion representing a different team and the weapons they use are a symbol of their signature champion.
-And if I may add on what you said, the first encounter we see, with the energy blade, is the player named XPeke, known for his strategy of sneaky attack the enemy base while his whole team was defending. We can expect him attacking from behind from this previous strategy.
- Then we see the player named Mata, who was absolutely an insane player on the champion he played, Thresh, soo we can see him holding Thresh's scythe and lantern, who are the weapons of the champion.
- Then, the feather on the ground, rushing back to the main character, belong to a Champion named Xayah, we (League players) can easily recognize Jackeylove's Xayah then, even if we don't see the guy directly, he was particularly good with the champion, along with another champion named Kai'sa. (But i can understand Xayah's feathers was easier to recognize.)
- (Sorry for Galio, the flying giant crushing the Player in the vid, i can't find find who used to play him very well, and don't know the history..)
- I can assume the Sniper is Caitlyn, the player that come to my mind if I may chose one may be BeBe, who play the Champion a lot.
- For the Spear, if i refer to somes others players said, it's a player named Ambition, who has retired, but keep playing the Champion who belong the spear, named Jarvan IV.
- And the last player we can see, is Tian. From FunPlus Phoenix team. Known for his Lee Sin, the blindfold belong to the champion aswell. I believe they're many reasons why thoses players were chosen, and Lee Sin in last. I like to think Lee Sin is the HARDEST champion to master in League, the champion is very powerful if used well, like how Tian play Lee Sin.
Anyway, if imust make a TL;DR : Remember that any weapons you see in the vid belong to a Champion, and any encounter the player is facing in the vid is a famous player in League Esport ! (An explanation for Chris, don't mind me.)
The guy in the red cape is "Faker" and they used him in a lot of those tournament music videos because he is one of the best League of Legends players of all time. That's why he is being called "The Greatest of all Time" and that is the reason he is put in most of the videos in some kind of final boss.

A thing I feel a lot of people look over is the history in this video. As a person who recently got into league two years ago, I saw IG vs FNC and was hooked instantly to not only this game, but the community of other esports titles like csgo and siege. I saw FPX take down G2 live and I really felt and understood what it meant to have your favorite team win a championship. An underdog taking the trophy

people probably already told you this, but the last guy isnt the one who trained him. and the blindfold serves both a way to show his confidence and be like "i'm op" as you say, but it also functions as the character trait from the game that every person had (everyone had a gun from a character on the game). the character is called lee sin and it's a blind monk
so basically you could say the guy's gun from the game is the bandana he uses to blindfold himself, but its also such a cool thing to do ahhhhh!

This reaction (and everyone on Chris Connor Channel) make me appreciate more the job behind every cinematic video or music video, you can enjoy them more, and also, when you see a video a few times, you can lost the feeling with the time, but see a person seeing the video for first time, absolutely bring him back.

The difference between this one and Rise is that he is literally fighting the other world champions. Basically if you want to be the best first you need to be better then the ones before you. Rise was like a mountain that everyone that he fought was trying to climb too.
Each stage is a call back to a different worlds winner. The person giving the gem is Faker, a player who won the championship consecutive times and earned the name "Unkillable Demon King" (the shop they were walking into in the beginning.
The first stage was xPeke's Kassadin
Second was Mata's Thresh
Third Jakeylove's Xayah
Fourth Crown's Galio
Fifth Bebe's Caitlynn
Sixth Bengi's Jarvin IV
and finally the most recent world champion, Tian's Lee Sin (lee sin is a blind character in LoL hence the blindfold.

23:14 That is a comon technique in animation that's very used in action scenes specially in anime called "impact frame" they go so fast that you can't really see them (unless you really know exactly were are placed and subtely notice) in real time but they add impact to the hit, explosion, cut, epic transformations or whatever is happening in the screen. There's a lot more impact frames in this music video alone, just you didn't notice them.

It is because the guy with the cat is Faker, the epic mid laner from SKT T1 team. If you watchthe scene on the bridge you can see the T1 shirt. And he is known to play EVERY champion on the mid lane, and is a legend among league of legends players.

Another League of Legends song that is pretty unique imo is their song for their card game (Legends of Runeterra) which is called "Breathe". Its a dope song and I think the art style of the animation is also really dope
My favourite part is when the chorus goes to the second take where he gets shot by the sniper and it transition to the game piece

In RISE you see Faker at the top. Faker is the guy from the start, setting up a potential candidate/talent that he's spotted in this video.
The guy climbing the mountain in RISE is Ambition, and the guy with the arrows at the lava area is Uzi (RISE music video).
Here, in Take Over, the new talent is fighting a member from every team that has won Worlds in LoL. Faker, being the most successful, having won 3 Worlds titles, (two in a row) and made it to the Worlds finals three years in a row (four total), is the talent finder from the start, representing T1 (Formerly SKT T1, which stands for South Korean Telecomunications. T1 is unknown). He was given the title "The Unstoppable Demon King" during his first year of competetive play, as he was literally unstoppable and won Worlds in his first year of competetive play, and it can be seen in short as the title of his facility.
The first guy the talent fights is xPeke from the first team to win Worlds, Fanatic (FNC), on his signature champion Kassadin, which I do not believe became his signature champion the year he won, but is the one he's the most associated with as he pulled off an insane backdoor play to kill the Nexus of the opponent's base during a high stake match and win the game.
The second guy he fights is Mata from Samsung White (SSW), who won the 4th Worlds title, bringing Korea to a 2/4 victory alongside T1, who won the year before (which was 2013). Mata is the support for SSW, and is known for his insane Thresh hooks that would turn games or secure them.
The third guy he fights is off screen, but is presumably JackeyLove from Invictus Gaming (IG) on his most dominating champion Xayah. They won Worlds in 2018, making it the first time in 5 years where Korea was not the winning region, and showing how powerful the other regions could be.
The fourth guy is also off screen, but is by order of elimination Crown from Samsung Galaxy (SSG) on what looks to be Galio, but some have debated it's Aatrox. The tail, though, convinces me it's Galio. SSG won the 5th Worlds title for Korea, securing the Samsung organisation's second Worlds title in 2017.
The fifth guy is Bebe from Taipei Assassins (TPA), as you can see their logo at the top of the champion Caitlyn's rifle's handle in the video. Taipei Assassins won the season 2 Worlds title in 2012.
The sixth person, throwing the Jarvan IV spear, is unknown. Speculation, though, has concluded that it must be Bengi in 2016 where he played Jarvan on T1. Bengi is the only other player in LoL Esports that has won 3 Worlds titles, being the Jungler on T1 every year up until 2016, along side Faker in the Mid Lane. Fun Fact: Faker has not won Worlds without Bengi, but has won every Worlds they've attended together.
The seventh person is Tian, jungler of FunPlus Pheonix (FPX), who won the last year's title on his Lee Sin. Some would argue that he was the carry for FPX during the finals, where he dominated the opponents heavily on his performance. He was also the MVP of the series. FPX's victory at Worlds 2019 celebrated China's second Worlds title in a row and total.
There were only 7 opponents in the video, presumably, because T1 has won 3 World championships with Bengi and Faker. You see Faker outside coaching the new talent, technically referencing them twice.
The final showdown with the girl from the start is to show that any anonymous person can become the Worlds 2020 title holder.
Should definitely do "Breathe" and "Legends Never Die" LoL videos, great art styles in those ones too! Love the videos you do, cant wait to see whats next

The character with the hood and the glasses is the same character in the RISE cinematic that fought in the last fight with a book. He is Faker, one of the best players in league, considering to be a legend
Except the one impersonating Lee Sin is not Faker. I don't know the name since I don't really watch esports, but he played Lee Sin for FPX in the last worlds. Another person listed the player names in a newer comment. Even if they look similar, one distinct difference are the different glasses.

So... The guy who gave the cristal thing to the main caracter is the champion last year in LoL, the "best player", his name is Faker. The hero he used, the blind fist master (lmao) is named Lee Sin. By the way, the cybercafe was in China, at least the name is written in Chinese（大魔王）. The "thing" under bridge you were talking about at the begining of the video, 水晶影院（the cinema of cristal）it's a cinema...

This league of legends cinematic: "As We Fall" it is indeed an amazing cinematic, it has great music and the animations are just breath taking. You should really check it out in the future, it is worth the time
The guy giving him the thing is the legendary pro player in league named FAKER. He is also Ryze in the video you reacted before because he used Ryze as his champ to win a championship.
You did the newer trailers from star wars the old republic but there are 3 older trailer they are amazing would love to see you react to them :)
Quick sum up, this is representing League of Legends in a very futuristic world, in which its basically virtual reality. The main character becomes Fakers protégé. Faker is the most legendary player in all of League. All the enemies in this video represent past esports players or champions who have won worlds (Im not really sure if all were champions), each one representing a character from League with their abilities and weapons. However, each one smiles at their defeat, instead of feeling sorrow or anger, because this is showing how the new gen of League esports is now starting and rising.
the one character with the scythe looking weapon is different from the one from RISE. This one is a former league player, Matta, that was an expert with Thresh (a champion from the game that has the exact same weapon), the character from RISE is Uzi, a well known player that was highly associated with that sharpshooter, Vayne. Nowadays, Matta is a League coach, that's why he uses formal clothing in this video, and Uzi has retired at somepoint earlier this year or something like this.
Additional info: the first character that appears in the 'game' that the main character of Take Over plays is xPeke. He was a very good player back in the primordial years of League, winning the first World Championship and becoming known because of his backdoor play with Kassadin (a champion from the game that has one ability that allows him to teleport back and forth), that play gave his name to backdoors, when a player wins the game entering the enemy base without the enemy team knowing/seeing/trying to stop.
I just realized that they were having the brand "Secret Lab" involved aswell, as a partner of them for gaming chairs i guess, since they just recently started working with them and creating league exclusive desings.
I would suggest the Tales From Runeterra series of videos that they have put out as they showcase a variety of characters and locations from the league of legends lore

You should cover some of the champion rework trailers! They're pretty short so you could cover 2 in the same video. I'd suggest the Fiddlesticks Rework and Warwick Rework trailers that some other guys also said before!
