I had no desire to get Vulcan as a character to collect but just seeing how you easily made a few cool poses with him made me want to get him lol. Dang it.
The body doesn't look as big as I'd thought, based on the promo images. I think the legs look a bit long in the thighs, but other than that, I can see this as a good basic body for most characters.
Also, I can imagine Luke Cage on the Hercules body.
I agree the thighs are a bit long. Very specific..maybe they will switch out some legs for some characters?? I dunno.

Vulcan open hands are just too big, it’s probably the comic thor hands. I had to display my Vulcan choking himself cuz the hand perfectly fits it’s neck.
The Bucky Cap body still holds up for “generic” superhero builds. Characters like Cyclops, Sleepwalker, and villains like Blizzard look great on the body still. The Vulcan body looks better for slightly more bulky characters like, ironically enough, Bucky Cap
Honestly even Black Panther would look great on this new mold too even if I do love him on the Spider-UK mold
The height problem looks like it's because they've positioned the head too high on the neck. The shoulders are only a smidge higher than Bucky Cap but then all that extra neck means the head is way higher up.
Luke Cage on the Hercules body would be better in my opinion (pinless though). This is too small for Luke
It's a great and deep analysis. I like how you mentioned they were more excited about bringing a new body than they were of the character, that also says a lot! Nice head swaps! Maybe Gambit wouldn't look that bad in this body?
Would’ve been nice if Vulcan had a diaphragm instead of an an crunch, preferably both. Also toe joints would add a lot for more acrobatic poses.

I cannot find any reason why the Hasbro ML Brand manager would have released just one character on the new body instead of a wave. When you think about the possibilities for character selection, ML should have released the 20th Ann Cap. In the wave could be Namor; Black Bolt; Mar-vel; Wonder-Man; Guardian; Sentry.
You're thinking like a fan instead of a businessman. Staggering desirable characters across multiple waves results in greater overall sales due to the BAF concept.

Keep in mind that tooling cost is per physical mould and not mould design. So based on the number of production lines working at the same, only so many of the new buck moulds are available. So they would use everything available at that time to be on full production.
Over time, I'm sure they will have more factory moulds of that buck available as their costs have been covered.
@@JamesSerapio I agree with you and Juan - and completely understand what you are describing. After all, its a part of our hobby we need to get to know. What I find unreasonable is the fact that Hasbro ML lost 24% of the last 3/4's and are aiming for higher by the end of the fiscal. With the resources (including their money) in the infrastructure they've spent millions and years on developing at their disposal, reversing this trend requires a Brand manager who has to take the old conventions (staggering good/bad figs in a wave) and re-conceive how the brand is going to continue.
@@JayWoods483 While character selection is malleable and in a Brand Manager's control, they still need to produce something with what they have. Idle factory just generates cost with no revenue; there's always overhead. They can't feasibly halt production while waiting for new moulds for all production lines.
I agree to the point that with the older moulds, they could produce less obscure characters to optimise sales, but we don't really have much choice over the available bucks.
Bucky cap’s height still works for most characters imo.
I think the 2 pack Spidey (with a fix to the neck hopefully) would be a pretty good medium sized body like what Bucky Cap used to be.
Good vid Wade! I feel like there is definitely room for both of these to coexist. The Black Panther swap looked dope as did Black Bolt. Luke Cage looked like someone wearing a Luke Cage mask, lol. If they use it right alongside the Bucky cap mold it will only enhance the display quality of our collections.
It seems that upcoming Pin less Spidey will be the standard medium sized body mold.
In the comics, Luke Cage is 6'6" (same height as Thor) and 425 lbs. Luke def needs an update and should be on either the new Hercules body or the Omega Red body mold. And if Hasbro does make a new Daredevil on the Vulcan body, then we're gonna need an updated Bullseye on the Vulcan body as well because the Bullseye on Sunfire body mold will look too scrawny and short next to a new Daredevil on the Vulcan body. I think all the Cyclops that Hasbro gave us on the Bucky Cap body mold look exactly how artist drew him in the comics. We just need an optic blast effect for a Jim Lee Cyclops now.

I’d still buy it and I’d probably love it but I just think it would still leave us needing a perfect ML legends Daredevil. He’s so simple but for whatever reason, they just can’t get it down

I think the new Vulcan body could be used for certain characters like;
Cyclops
Black Bolt
FA Sentry (The later look could use the Hercules body)
Corsair (with a newly sculpted collar for his classic look)
Silver Surfer
For the Sunfire/Spidey 2099 body, it's a good base for;
Daredevil
Black Panther (Both he & Daredevil are only 6 Foot tall)
Banshee
Angel/Archangel
Luke Cage would be suited for the Hercules body IMO
There's so many other characters I could list out, but that would take me a while to list

Good video man. I totally agree that Vulcan is way too tall for most of the characters that are already using the Bucky body, and pinless arms and legs on the 2099 mold is the way to go forward. I do not like how Vulcan cannot put his arms down closer to his body.

I absolutely agree, I really hope they don't replace everything with this. It'll be like replacing our whole collection. I can see this for a new Magneto or even better, a Doc Samson, characters that are only slightly bigger. I honestly love the Sunfire body mold and wouldn't mind if they continued with that for regular-sized characters.

Great vid as always. Enjoyed the comparisons. Personally, I think that with all the new pinless joints and sculpts Hasbro is giving us, now would be a great time to upsize the traditional 6” figure to this buck. It really isn’t all that exaggerated, if they upsize all figs moving forward (like you mentioned).
I want a Black Bolt on this body, with interchangeable arm wing pieces: folded for when the arms are down, and splayed out for when his arms are stretched out, same as the Age of Ultron Thanos BAF series Spider Woman

Vulcans legs are a little too long, that seems like that where most of the height is coming from, so maybe shorting the thighs would make it fit better for other characters

Fits sleek 6’3 to 6’4 characters to me. Silver Surfer and Cyclops. Can stretch and go for the big 6’2 guys like Gambit and Black Bolt too. I think Dare Devil is a stretch at only 6ft.

They made the buck bigger Bc buckycap has been undersized for years now. If buckycap is as small as a hellfire guard, it’s time to upsize your buckycap
This is a great video and I agree with much of what you said. A couple things come to mind though.
I don't know why they didn't get crazy and push the articulation into modernity, like you said with Classified. The 2 ball pegs in the torso like what Valaverse is doing would've been so much better and would have also made this figure feel 2022. As it is, this figure already feels 10 years old. I'm fine with the figure as it is, but for being a new figure and such a big deal, there's nothing really new about this figure.
My only real big gripes are his height. He is too dang tall and his thighs especially look so unnaturally long. Because his thighs are so long, he's going to look out of place next to old Bucky cap figures.
So all-in-all, he's a fine figure but if they were going to spend the budget and press on the figure, it would have been nice to see it be a bit more revolutionary or better proportioned, at least. Not a bad figure, just not as good as it could be.
I agree totally. In my opinion it’s just slightly better it’s not up to date to the style of the figures of today.
Black bolt was my first thought between this body and the first appearance spiderman with the under-arm wings. I like this buck for black Panther and I wish the haslab surfer had this to be pinless

The 2099 body/Retro Spidey body is good for daredevil but they need to give it bigger shoulders. (They did it with the upcoming Renew Your Vows 2pack but not with the retro black suit or ben reilly)

This new Vulcan body mold is dope... but ngl, I still like the Bucky Cap body mold. I say Hasbro should use both moving forward. An updated classic Vision would look good on the Vulcan body mold.
I definitely agree with black bolt, I can see maybe a taskmaster. For sentry tho, I definitely want a replacement for the Hyperion mold, that’s needed replacement for years. Oh, and I can definitely see Adam warlock on this body.

I’m just discussing the situation as it is. If you watched my videos you would know that I very much would like new sculpts every time, but that’s not really what legends is. As a result, I really don’t purchase all that many of them.
I think maybe the thickness of the feet? If it was slimmed down a bit for some characters it could work.

Theirs something to be said for a simple costume design. It really allows for the main focus to be his powers , not busy or overly distracting.
To be honest they should release a new Bucky cap on this body🤣😄
Need to see him in hand but imo this figure looks like he got stung by a bee and just swelled right up, like is this the body they would use gambit for, cause hes not thick like this cheesey puff, and its mostly the guy thighs that "stand out" to me

Hasn’t everyone said that the buckycap mould is way too short? Definitely compared to the most recent figures we have been getting and seeing as basically all the figures you compared to the Vulcan body are all buckycap moulds so it doesn’t actually seem fair
I think that the 2099 buck is a perfect fit for Daredevil,he’s not as small as Spider man so that retro buck isn’t a good idea.
I 1000% agree on that mold for Black bolt! 90% agree on Cyclops.. his front looks...maybe a bit weird in the legs. But the view of his arms from the side and back looks dope! Also..though arent we sure they are going to use the VHS Morph figure sculpt for Cyclops? It looks like the Vulcan buck. with some mods., right?
100% Hasbro unveals the new pizza spidey buck at sdcc and that will be the new body for daredevil and mr. Fantastic type slimmer characters. I'm excited to see the new kid spidey/kid nova buck!

Omega Red is/will be the replacement for the Hyperion body. Once they fill in the shoulder holes, it'll be ready to go.
Vulcan is the perfect body for a Scarlet Spider.
In 20 more years, hasbro will introduce... Forearm swivel! Yay! And 20 more years, toe articulation!!! They will be on 🔥 in the next 40 years!
The bucky cap has a very small head and the daredevil has the head sitting more down than the other heds on that molde, havok looks shorter, but i don't see that Vulcan is Towering anyone , and almost cyclops is almost as tall
That pizza oven chest joint on Bucky Cap is terrible though. Even worse on white costumed characters.
The body used for Morph is the perfect size for Cyclops, I made a custom out of him.
This things heavier than a similar marvel legends actiony figure. Seems Hascrap is going the DC direct route.😛
Why wouldn't an updated classic Daredevil go on the 2020 Super-Poseable Retro Spider-Man body?
I agree that the Vulcan bod is too big for Daredevil, but not that it's too big for other characters. IMO Daredevil is the right size for the Sunfire/Retro Spidey bod. I've been popping heads on my Vulcan since I've gotten him and the conclusion I've come to is that is great for the classic "heroic" characters like Cap and Cylops and more "thugish" villains like Taskmaster. Like you said anyone that's tough, but not quite Thor or Luke Cage bruisers.
I agree 100% -- this is a good new buck for bigger characters, but not to replace the existing Bucky Cap body. The upscale is going to make all the old figures look small and nobody needs a complete replacement of their collection just because of a new buck is rolled out. My two complaints with the Vulcan buck is (1) his upper legs are way too long, and if they fix that it might bring the height down to the Bucky Cap level, and (2) I feel there is a lack of depth to his chest, like he's too "flat" when viewed from the side.
Also, I wish Hasbro would trash that Spider-Man 2099/Sunfire buck because it actually looks terrible. The tiny drooping shoulders and the gigantic thigh gap look so unnatural

My main bugbear with Bucky Cap was the teeny tiny feet. Also they hardly ever gave alternative hands. Usually it had C-grip or trigger finger hands.
New Vulcan buck looks good, but should've had the same articulation as Retro Spidey.
I remember seeing DD take on Bullseye in Frank Miller's run. Frank always drew Daredevil as bigger than Spidey, so I think this works. I also want a Sentry on this bod. And Cyclops.

Oh man I never even thought about a red suit Daredevil on the Vulcan body, personally I prefer Daredevil to be slightly bigger than Spider-Man so I think that body could work, then again Bullseye would look small compared to him which I don't like. Cyclops and especially Black Panther I'd love to see on this body.
I only own two figures with the Bucky Cap mold, the 2016 Deadpool and Love Triangle 3-pack Cyclops (which even then is covered by a jacket). To me I've always felt it was a bit awkward, as you pointed out the veins and muscle wrinkles are a bit extreme and it overall feels a bit clunky to me, and the plastic for it doesn't always match the rest of the body that well. I've personally never been too big of a fan of that body mold, to me something about it just throws me off, but I can appreciate what it did for the line.
If you go by Marvel's official character bios, Daredevil is slightly shorter than Spider-Man
Comic book Spider-Man is 6'1 and Daredevil has always been 6'
@@vanillawafer1182 I never would've guessed. I think the reason a lot of people think of Daredevil as taller is because he's always been an adult, whereas Spider-Man is usually younger than him, then again he's got super strength and all that so maybe that's a factor.
@@tomtudorweaver1078 Yeah I was talking about adult Peter in 616. Not sure how tall he was supposed to be when he was a teenager, but I know Ultimate universe Peter (at 15 yrs old) is 5'8 if I recall correctly
@@vanillawafer1182 Yeah I remember reading Ultimate Spider-Man being surprised to see how small he was. The scaling is a weird thing seeing as I feel like in the early comics once they had the design down Spider-Man always looked like a bulky adult, even if Peter was still in high school or college, when the costume was on he just looked that way. Then with the whole time not really moving forward thing it makes it more weird that Peter ages just enough to where he basically catches up with Daredevil height wise. As I said, I think its just because of his association with being younger that I and a lot of people assume Daredevil to be taller since Daredevil is simply older age wise.
Daredevil need to be put on the retro Spidey buck. Particularly the upcoming RYV Spidey buck

I really can't stand the thick boi calves and duck feet. Coupled with the fact that they kept the same style of torso articulation, im just not a fan. The new buck looks exactly like the normal male body model from DC Universe Online.
Nice video. I'm not a fan of this body so far. Looks too tall and the hands they gave him are huge. Not sure what they were thinking with this one, hopefully someone asks during the next round of interviews they do.
His thighs look way too long. From the feet to the knees they look the same hight and from the crotch to the top of the head they look like the same hight but those thighs seem like where the added size is coming from.
Honestly, the thighs on Vulcan seem very long, that is my main gripe with the buck. Also the fact that it (at least to me) resembles the sunfire body a little too much for my taste. Still great buck tho
Are you small? Because you seem a bit not picky about what should amount to a couple extra inches in height,and about five to ten pounds extra muscle on a guy that's supposed to be a representative of an ideal human physique. They are super heroes after all. Also I think the bucket cap body for daredevil was excellent. Mat Murdock trains extreme and according to comic lore he's been doing it long enough to be pretty muscular. Like a cross between a heavy weight boxer and a hyper muscular gymnast. As for Luke cage, in all of his early comic appearances it was established that he's very tall, around 6'4 and very big like an NFL linebacker but streamlined with a smaller waist. The fact that when he first appeared in the 1970s, he was a comic version of the blaxploitation films starring people like Jim brown, Fred Williamson, and Bernie Casey, all big muscular African Americans who played pro ball at some point before becoming actors. So I don't know where you get the idea that these superhero figures are supposed to be so small framed, and lightly muscled. That works for somebody like spiderman when he was a teenager. Or maybe characters who don't rely on physical strength,and aren't representative of human physical perfection. But otherwise I think this Vulcan figure is a great addition to the marvel legends line. It's like the difference between CrossFit, Classic physique, and open bodybuilding. Check out those type athletes bodies and the subtle difference's, and then compare them to what different superheroes might be built like, and I think you'll find it interesting.
