Good thing I didn’t break the peg to give my Spider-Man more range, gonna try this soon. Thanks 🤘🏼😎👍🏼

Appreciate you bro! Thank you!
Great tutorial! I didn't mod any of the Vulcan figures yet because I was worried what would happen to the unsupported shoulders over time (if the peg was snipped). This is a much better solution with minimal extra work. Thanks!
A good replacement for the extremely powerful Dremel is an off-brand nail drill kit. It operates at a lower wattage and some models have the speed regulator. I use those when I’m doing really detailed work like sanding or grinding parts for my toys.
At least on Vulcan, found it impossible to separate the butterfly part from the shoulder part, makes putting it back in place super difficult
Excellent tutorial! I just wish I had the stones to try! Also, you really demonstrated confidence just by using a Walmart exclusive figure! Not so easy to replace in the event tragedy ensues! LOL
Thank you bro! Yeah haha I have done it so many times felt confident! It’s funny I don’t think I have ever actually found a Walmart exclusive at Walmart I always have to get them some other route. 🤣
Nice, thanks! Definitely want to see the process for the IDW Turtles!
That's cool. Thanks for sharing. I don't really have a figure I could use this on, but you explained and showed so clearly I'm sure somebody that needs this will find it to be a great help.
Same tip works for Hawkeye and if you have a extra Bone crusher torso you can swap the shoulders for more heroic look on Clint, also a wash doesn't hurt, thanks for the tutorials, and yes we would love one for the turtles
Thanks man and thank you for checking out the video!
Great tutorial. So much better than trimming the pegs. Thanks for sharing 👍
I preffer triming the pegs. I did it for my classified series and im a happy man
@@alfernandez9493 I’ve not had the need on Classified, but with the Legends Vulcan buck, trimming the pegs makes the joint unstable
No problem! I appreciate you watching! I agree it’s much better. It take a little more work but honestly after I did the first couple it was super easy and I like the stability in the arm better.
@@artwittoyz6859 I suppose it should work better for some sculpts than others, the important part is to enjoy your figs!
@@alfernandez9493 for sure!
Great tutorial man!
Thanks man! Thank you for watching!
Do you think you would ever attempt forward moving butterfly joints on the latest Hulk?
Thank you be pretty awesome! I have seen one person do it. I might try it on the new Hulk since they should be easier to get.
Oh snap Donatello
Good ol Donnie! 🙌
Great job, appreciate the tip for shoulders, lately I've been thinking in get my own Dexter's laboratory to fix son figs and you gave me some ideas 👍
Great vid my dude. Keep them coming. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for watching bro! Will do!
I had no idea hasbro changed the way they did butterfly joints so dramatically!
I remember on the pizza Spidey mold the shoulders got so much movement you could actually see the peg sticking out the cup socket.
Yeah super weird they changed them up that way.
It’s weird they did butterflies fine for so long but on this buck, and a few others they changed it. Even on the new black widow I had to do this mod.
I love the old 'Sectaurs' looking Starlord design more than the newer 'Mask and biker jacket' look the MCU went with.
Excellent fix/tutorial, man!
Thank you bro! 🙌
Great job man! I’ll definitely try this out! Appreciate it
Awesome! Thank you for watching bro!
thanks for this tutorial! keep em coming!
Thanks for watching man! Will do!
Thanks again, partner...I will do this with my Black Panther figure!!
Thank you that was educationaly awsome
Great job sir!
Thanks bro! I appreciate it!
Would love a video on the Turtle mod!
Will do!
Would love a video modifying the turtles as well.
Will do!
Thanks for this Rick.👌🏻🔥
No problem thank you for watching!
Very Informative. Thanks !
No problem l! Glad to help! Thank you for watching!
Iam going to half too nut up and try that on some w.w.e ultimates with they butterfly joints
Would love to know how you modded the TMNT figs. those waste swivels need all the help they can get
Super informative bro
Thank you bro and thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video
Thank you so much for watching!
Just be aware, if you leave the figure soaking too long on hot water it will damage the paint or matte finish and make it super glossy and make the paint faded. Just a heads up
Nice tutorial, thank you. My Star Lord arms coming out in one piece, but somehow the butterfly - arm connection was stuck, i can only cut down the white butterfly ,,shell". In your video comes easy down. I have also quality issue the shoulder pants piece during i try remove the white paint on one side falling into pieces (maybe toy was previous hold long on sunny window), on other side material was strong. Any idea for both prob?
yes please do the mod vid on the turtles
Thank you❤
That's cool and all but I'm fine with just clipping the peg to allow more range. I'm like 50/50 on butterfly joints, if they work I'm fine with them but when they don't they piss me off cause they're basically ruining the sculpt for the illusion of greater articulation when you don't even need to engineer that in the first place. I wish more companies just adopted ball joints and called it a day, so much easier to implement and you get way more range of motion.
Yeah clipping the pegs is fine I’m not saying not to do it and if you are nervous to do what I did or don’t want to do the extra steps it’s a quick and simple mod. There are some figures with limited butterflies I am fine with but the ones on this buck and even a couple others I want to get full enjoyment out of because I like the figure so much so taking a few minutes to knock this out doesn’t bother me. I’d rather not have to do it but it is what it is I guess. I agree a ball joint would be great…
Great video my man! Quick question: when you put the shoulder piece back in, you say its better to heat the shoulder piece and NOT the figure (torso) itself. Wouldn’t heating/softening up the torso be better? I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m just assuming a hard peg would be easier to stick into a soft hole, rather than a soft peg into a hard/cold hole? (sorry how perverted that sounded😅)
Hahaha I’ve answered a few questions for people and it’s super difficult to make it sound not perverted hahahaha.
I tried that but the body is made of such a harder plastic that it doesn’t get much give to allow that mushroom peg to pop in if it’s not soft. I usually soften the peg but not too soft as you need it to have some give but also be firm enough to pop it. Once you do it once or twice it will be a piece of cake you will know exactly how much heat and force you need.
@@artwittoyz6859 Ah ok! Thanks! I'll try it your way 🙏🏽
Great video Rick. Is this the same thing you do with Widow?
I believe so I’m going to be trying it on her next!
Be careful with popping the female shoulders out, it's a lot harder to push the mushroom peg back into the torso because it's fatter. Had lots of trouble with mines and its still not %100 in.
Brother love your tutorial and greatly appreciate it!! I tried to do that with my New Marvel Legend Bucky Cap 2.0 and it came out but the butterfly joints are stuck at the bottom and seems like it’s sealed into the plastic and won’t pop off like the usual Vulcan buck molds. Let me know if you think it will work but i didn’t wanna tear or stretch it and snap it even as soft as i got it i just gave up lol
Thanks for watching man! Just got Bucky Cap today so going to give it a try!
Way better!
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching!
Will this work with the newer Spider-Man body’s?
Hello, yes it will I have tried it on them as well and adds a ton of range for dynamic posing
Are you telling me hasblow cash grab a multi billionaire company can't figure this out?! What the heck marvel legends team....Dwight? Does he know what he is doing?🤷
I’m having trouble putting the butterfly joint back into the torso. Any tips?
Best thing I would say it make sure the peg is not super hot as it will be a little too soft and just bend. Use the flat head and work it in as if you pushing move the butterfly back and forth like you are posing it.
It’s better than chopping the peg
😘 Promo-SM
Great video. Shame we don't get that range standard
