  • I try out the Ironman Load Plus which I received from Riverland 4x4 & Outdoor. It is designed to raise your rear end & reduce sway by 40%

    Sooo Did it feel better? Like more stable around the turns. Could you feel a differance?

      It did make a slight difference. Not a huge amount though. But I'm still running them 👍

    Great video review. Can you tell me how much weight the Steel canopy is on its own?

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never weighed it on its own but when we painted the car it took 8 people to lift it off. I'd say between 300/500kgs

    Mint so with air bags and a load plus works well?

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do work well but is suggest getting your suspension sorted first and then if you need extra support look at these options 👍

    cant beleive HOW THICK the rear leafs are already and you need helpers ? how much weight are you carrying in the back , and how does it all go with all that weight when 4wdriving , dirt , mud etc ?

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว

      The existing springs can handle the weight. The purpose of the load plus is to help with body roll as my car is so top heavy I needed all the help I could get. Because of all the weight up top I no longer take the car 4wding after nearly rolling it several times. Now I only use it for touring

      You should get a heavy duty leaf spring Set (constant load). Then, add a leaf + helper.

      The car already has the heaviest springs old man emu make. Because it's such an old car no one makes gvm upgrades

    Haha you sure the u bolts werent swapped around? Mate im a mechanic not giving you grief just seems like longer u bolt was meant for other end?

    • @nosignal88
      @nosignal88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless u bolts were same length my bad

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually questioned the same thing 🤣 it would have made more sense. But I was following the instructions & also the long u bolt would have cut open my airbag if I swapped them. Every picture I've seen of them the big u bolt the nut sits a lot closer to the end

  • @shanepleasance2498
    @shanepleasance2498 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey mate ,you've got the u bolt towards the back around the wrong way

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry mate but I was following the instructions and even their photo which you can see on the thumbnail the ubolt faces upwards

    • @shanepleasance2498
      @shanepleasance2498 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Camping downunder me bad ,others I've seen had the u bolt facing down. Thinking about it ,it wouldn't matter . Nice set up you have there
