How can you do this on a 1958 Mercury, and the 58 EDSELS, as these car have the 7 leaf spring assembly installed UNDER THE AXEL, I THINK THAT WAS PRETTY STUPID AND DUMB WHAT MERCURY AND FORD DID, I SCRAPPN, MAKN SPARKS ON THE PAVEMENTS EVERYWHERE, ESPECIALLY ON DIPS 😭😭, MY SPRINGS ARE SUPER WEAK AND EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND I COULDNT GET THE AIR SHOCKS TO LIFT, MY BEST OPTION IS INSTALLING 4" BLOCKS, BUT I JUS CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY😭😭😭.
I installed them on my 2004 F250 Super Duty. Its a love hate thing. When I am pulling my fifth wheel they are the best things since sliced bread. When its empty it feels like I bolted the axle directly to the frame. I would say these are only good for trucks with utility beds on them since the weight is constant. While they drive like a boss while loaded I will be going to air bags soon in order to preserve my kidneys and teeth fillings.
your spot on but you forgot about off road performance. this information is useless to you slidenomore, due to your knowledge, but since you have done a good job 3xplaing all the other points I'll just pickup ;) where you left off. these will make your life hell when you have them mounted to your truck driving offroad. 4wd trucks won't suffer as much as 2wd but in my chevy 2500 it is 2wd and it doesent even have the gm Eaton g80 diff locker which makes ot even worse. My chevy is a 2005 2500 extended cab longbed so my situation is much worse then someone with a regular bwd. they are worth it but your driving patterns off road will change dramatically if you do not have 4wd. It's not impossible but the complexity of driving up a incline in a field Will increase. However excersising precautions and not slacking off at your first attempt to get unstuck will decrease the likelyhood of you grtting stuck and stranded. For anyone considering installing please take my, and slidenomore's points to see if it will be practical for your situation. I am personally not regretful unless I get stuck :)

Well my brother put these on his Toyota and when the lady came out from Walmart she didn't even have the right part so he returned them and his truck was towed much better afterwards maybe the best application is Ford or Chevy not Toyota but perfect when towing heavy loads but in the end I will only purchase separately with warranty on official auto parts store not Walmart
