    No joke. My dad passed away in his 80’s and barely had any wrinkles and looked 50’s. He did NOT use Ponds cream or any face cream. It was genetics.

      Yes, genetics does play a major role in looking young, but but but you can’t tell me that taking care of your self does not also helps. My mom and her family have horrible skin issues, but also they don’t even take out their make up when their sleep. They also don’t use sunblock and have horrible diets and some smoke like there’s no tomorrow. I have great skin and everyone ask me how? I’m like 🙄 well I take care of it! Duh

      I've used ponds as well however it's just a glorified jar of emulsified Vaseline and wax, if you read the ingredients. It's not a miracle just an occlusive lipid that can be used to removed oil and makeup.

    I truly hope the girl who created this original message sees this. Ponds cold cream was an outstanding product in its original formulation. My grandmother used it for decades and she had immaculate skin. However, and this is a huge caveat - Ponds was bought out by Unilever a few years back and they changed the formulation and added a number of chemicals to it. It is not the same product anymore. A number of us contacted them with our request to change the formulation back but of course received no response and they are still using the bastardized version. It is not the same thing that your mother used and does not work the same. Maybe think of using your platform here to get millions of women behind a request for Unilever to change back to the original formulation. It would be worth it.

      @taytay1597 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      i mean yeah, cleansing your skin properly is very important. if all you do is cleanse properly every night and wear sunscreen every day, you will have really nice skin your whole life lol. ponds cold cream doesnt do anything for your skin except lift makeup and excess oils off the skin and break it up, so when you wash your face with an actual cleanser, everything just slides off. 90% of women's skin concerns can be solved by properly cleansing at night, since yall tend to cake your face with makeup. this is also why the memes of women's boyfriends having better skin than them despite using bar soap to wash their face exists. they dont cake makeup all over their face, therefore their skin gets to breathe all day, and their pores dont get clogged.
      for ACTUAL anti aging products, heres some of the staples: retinoid serums at night time(retinol, retinal, adapalene, tretinoin). retinoids are the one for all of skincare. they target every skin concern there is, and they do it better than any other. however, retinoids are very harsh on the skin, so they have to be used properly and with caution, and some people with more sensitive skin cant use them at all. improper use or intolerance of retinoids can cause damage and irritation to your skin that wont heal until you stop using retinoids.
      peptides and ceramides. peptides have similar end results as retinols, they firm the skin and enhance collagen production, but theyre much gentler and much more easily tolerated by everyone, at the expense of mainly only targeting collagen production and skin firming, as well as helping with skin barrier health, and at lower efficacy than retinols. ceramides are a skin repairing and soothing ingredient, helping with skin barrier health, which is one of the most important concerns everyone should have. if you have a damaged or weak skin barrier, all your expensive serums and creams you put on your skin are wasted.
      petroleum jelly. vaseline, aquaphor, cerave healing ointment, all of these things are petroleum jelly based. this ingredient is the best occlusive there is. occlusives help prevent water loss, locking all the moisture and ingredients you put on your skin in. this is the best product you can use on dry skin, irritated skin, damaged skin, etc for protecting them from drying out, which helps them repair and heal at optimal speeds.
      finally, sunscreen. sunscreen is arguably the most important thing you will ever put on your skin. many dermatologists say 90% of skincare improvements is from finding a sunscreen your skin likes, and wearing it every day, while reapplying every 2 hours as long as the sun is up(unless youre inside, you dont need to wear sunscreen when youre chilling inside at home, or if you work indoors). wear sunscreen if its raining(clouds DO NOT block UV rays, it doesnt matter how dark it is outside due to clouds), if you live somewhere that isnt sunny, it doesnt matter. your weather app on your phone should tell you the UV rating at that moment, and anything 3 and above, you should wear sunscreen, no exceptions. this is particularly important from the times of 10 AM to 4 PM, as these are peak sunlight, and thus peak UVA/UVB times.
      bonus ingredients: urea. urea is a super underrated ingredient, it pairs really well with exfoliants like salicylic acid, as it softens your skin and helps it retain moisture and enhances the skin's natural exfoliation process. this ingredient is most common for treating cracked super dry heavily calloused feet, and heels. that right there should prove its efficacy. it can be used anywhere on the body, and is valuable everywhere on the body, even face. any skin type can benefit from urea, but especially dry skin.
      another bonus: centella extract. cica plant serums and creams are excellent at soothing skin, helping repair skin damage, and protecting the skin in general. paired with ceramides and selective petroleum jelly application on particularly bad areas, your skin will be super thankful you add cica to your regimen. i love this ingredient, and believe everyone should use it.

    TBF, I am convinced half the secret is using a moisturizing product at all. I used to work in drugstore beauty, and you have no many idea how many gorgeous older ladies would confess that their "secret" is Pond's, Oil of Olay, Noxzema, L'Oreal. The common factor? They'd all been using it for 40+ years. I suspect now that everybody knows just how important skincare is (and lifestyle factors; i.e. not sun-worshipping or smoking) we're all gonna age like Highlanders.

    My mom is 65 but looks 50, I'm 30 but I LOOK 30. Why? Because I got my dad's skin. My mom barely looked after her skin and she has not a single deep wrinkle. I've had a skincare routine since I was 18. The only thing that ever helps my skin is organic virgin coconut oil (I get the Nutiva brand). I take a dime sized amount and gently rub it into my skin before washing. Even though you're cleansing it off, you'll still notice the glowiness it leaves behind and the amazing softness!

    I say this all the time to people and stand by it completely because I’ve seen first hand how it works wonders… my grandmother passed at 98 and looked in her early 50s. Everyone she ever met has always said how amazing her skin was and how she barely had wrinkles and joked A LOT about how she must of found The Fountain of Youth. She swore by Ponds cold cream, that she used morning and night since she was 14. She slathered it on her face, hands, and décolleté. At the end of her life her skin still looked plump, no deep lines, full of radiance, and very very soft. She never had acne or anything either. Thankfully she passed me on some of those good genes.

    I started using Ponds cold cream at 19 because I thought I should start anti-aging early... and ended up with cystic acne for years, still trying to recover from it. My skin was crystal clear before using this product and now I have scars that won't go away. Please consult a professional before using a cold cream, it is so popular and everyone might think that it'll work for them. If you have dry skin, it might work for you, but my oil skin babes steer clear of this unless you want to end up with damaged skin like mine!
