      I'm writing that one today. Hopefully I have time to get it out this week.

    great video. Makes things very clear!
    One note for local pilots- i flew out of KDVT a couple weeks ago, got a SUPER early frequency change, and called while at about 2400'. The communication with phoenix approach was garbled, and I got a snippy "don't call till you're over 3000'". I eventually got the transition clearance, of course. So better to wait until you are above that altitude.

      Great tip! I would say that some of their radios are not the best. I couldn't talk with ground when on the ground...

    Great video for letting people know there are ways to cross the Bravo!
    I would emphasize the part where you review your particular Bravo transition procedures ahead of time and take notes as many of them have different procedures. For example, here in SoCal, the LAX transition has some shortcuts, special sqawk codes and altitudes dependent on direction of transistion--all designed to lessen the workload on SoCal App/Dep and LAX ATC controllers.
    Also a second shout-out to ARSim Plane English--my CFI noticed the difference after I started going through a few sessions.
    After I get my PPL I'll be commuting from SoCal to PHX regularly so I pay close attention to your content. :)
    Keep up the great videos, FWTG!

      Thanks for your comment! I believe LAX transition has a special corridor that you can fly without contacting approach, which is what I think your referring to. I've heard about it, but never looked it up.

    For a troglodyte like me sound very overwhelming, but , i will put al my mjnd in to it. Again and again, thank you for sharing.
    At list i start ( I can’t take enough) with the Microsoft flight simulator and got a decent yoke to do little “ practice “ . Mind blowing.

    When I did the Bravo transition they gave us names of mountains and other landmarks to flyover making it a lot more difficult. I wish it could have been as smooth as this.

      I've had that out of class C before. Things that were common to people flying regularly in and out of the airport, but not on the sectional or TAC.

    Love the Mincecraft touch. :) So... if there is Bravo air space, is there Alpha, Delta, Gamma, etc? Asking for a non-pilot friend.

      Yep! There is class B C D E G and A. In fact, on the flight we recorded this one we hit all of them. 😀

    One thing I’ve seen pilots do in similar videos is to write “Cleared through Bravo” in their scratchpad, and circle it when they get cleared. It’s better to add that item to your checklist rather than getting a number to copy.

    There’s 5 ways of getting from one side of bravo to the other. Only 2 of them require talking to controllers.
    Go around Bravo
    Go under Bravo
    Go through Bravo (clearance required)
    Go IFR (clearance required)

    Compared to the one grump who works in the tower of my home Class D, working with the Bravo controllers is a breeze. They're friendly, professional, and helpful. Unlike Mr. Grumpy.

    • @flywiththeguys
      @flywiththeguys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think every tower has one of those. Our area referred to one controller as the dragon lady.

    Did controller really say cleared through Bravo? too fast to hear it

    • @flywiththeguys
      @flywiththeguys  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, or some variation of that. Unlike C and D where they just have to make positive contact with you, they have to clear you into their airspace.

    I see you were using oxygen in one the clips. Did you purchase that or was that provided by the aircraft?

    • @flywiththeguys
      @flywiththeguys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was just an O2 tank that Joe has. The pieces that made up this flight were from a longer flight we did where we touched all classes of airspace. We were descending down from 18K just before we made the initial call, and I hadn't taken my 02 off yet.
