    99% of you are amazing, supportive, and understand what I do. I thank you for that! For anyone else saying I flip horses clearly does not understand what flipping is and absolutely does not understand what I do. Most of the time I hardly make a dime, and usually lose thousands when sell a horse. My heart is attached to every horse that comes my way! And I put my heart, soul, and wallet into all of them. If I do make some profit it’s not “free” it’s from years of training and work! Mushu isn’t going anywhere right now, and he may never. However, I can’t predict the future and I’m just being very open and raw with my viewers because there is no sense in being fake. ❤

      If you were flipping horses you Barn would have a revolving door … you could even buy a load of palomino mares and breed for fun but you find love and search for the lives they deserve xx also a horse you have had for months won’t be your heart horse !

      From what I see watching your channel, you are doing rescue, rehabilitate and possibly re-home just with horses...It's no different than someone who is rescuing dogs and cats from shelter situations and other unfortunately situations, making them well and then placing them potentially in homes that better suit them, like a light duty service home, a veteran needing a PSTD partner or a autistic child just needed a reassurance dog. There is no harm in enjoying them and training them to handle new situations so they are safe in potentially a new home along the way. That's not flipping animals...it's properly and responsibly rescuing them. Sorry but there are not many horses in the local humane society kennels to do this with, so the auctions are where you find them like any other animal looking for a new home. IF anyone wants to be mad at someone...be mad a the original owner who decided to sell a horse in bad condition and go get "a new one". The same thing happens with "old" dogs and cats or bad behaving dogs and cats. The sad part is, that original owner just does it again because they never learn anything!

      Yes we once bought a starved beaten horse and fixed his training and health, we then resold him to a close friend, he is now know as one of the speediest barrel horses in the county, I'm glad his new owners kept were he likes to be. (He loved running so we found we could try him with barrels and found out he is really good with that so he became a barrel boy.

    Mushu is such a darling. He just walked across that tarp like it was nobody's business, without a care in the world. What a good boy. When Mushu fogged up your glasses, that was hilarious Shae! It's evident that he adores you as much as you adore him. Well done Mushu.

    🥰Mushu Mud Ball. He’s so cute & intelligent. You put it perfectly Shae-“I don’t just collect horses”. Of course you bond with all of them, but I understand completely. It’s your passion. To train horses for another is a gift. If I knew what I know now, I would have started out by going to someone like you to buy a horse. My first horse(quarter horse, mare) would not walk through a puddle, let alone water🤦🏻‍♀️. Of course it’ll break your heart some whenever you sell any of your fur babies, but I can just imagine the joy you get from seeing them blossom with their new family. This weather stinks! I’m in western New York & we had the blizzard over Christmas, first Christmas we ever missed-ever! First one we missed with our grown kids & grandkids. I thank God they were all safe in their homes. We celebrated New Year’s Day. It’s pouring here too. The snow is almost gone except for some spots. Ugh, yuk. I rather have snow then mud, especially because of the fur babies. It’s hard enough to keep them as dry & clean as possible in the barn, but also the ones that live in the house. You take care Shae! Oh Mushu really is very confident, the way he walked right on the tarp & stood there😂He was probably thinking what the heck am I doing on this thing? Love him💕🐴

    What you do for these horses is wonderful. I personally never had the privilege of owning a horse. Always wanted one. You are living my dream life.😊 Purchase a horse , training it, love it while it is with you , then find the right adopter so they can live there best lives. People don't understand you can't keep every horse you buy. They cost a lot to feed ,vet, and shelter,let a lone shoeing etc. Doing what you do, is doing the best for the horses . It benefits them life long to live with a well rounded education and the right adopter. I love what you do keep up the good work. Greetings from Pennsylvania

    Any horse would be very lucky to land in your care and barn. I have never seen such a happy, loving, positive horse trainer like you and I've been around quite a few horse people and trainers. It's usually all about what money that can be made from a horse, not the well being, confidence and care for the horse. Shae, I just love the level of care that you have for all your animals. A lot of people don't understand the horse business. Your rescuing, rehabbing (at great expense) and training help horses and riders become the best that they can be. Please keep sharing that❤️💙💚

You'll get comments from non-horse people and opinionated horse people! But for me, I'm enjoying your channel! Maybe because Mushu was "bored," as you said earlier, he was "more confident" in crossing the tarp ~~ obviously a playful fellow, he nudges Mom's glasses and fogs them. Do you think in overcast weather that animals get depressed and a bit down?? It really was muddy out there and you show it all, how a farm looks after snow melt-off. Great show❣💯

    Bad weather usually brings down branches and trees which are then cut up and/or chipped. In some areas, landscaping companies look for places to unload free because they have so much and it costs them to unload at landfills.This might be a way to get chips and shreds for your muddy paddocks. Just be sure to avoid walnut as it can be poisonous. The landscaper delivering the chips should know what he's cut up, and may be obliging enough to drive his truck forward as the chips come out so that the load is spread in a line across the paddock. Then the horses can have fun pawing and playing with the chips. Try looking for "chip drop" on your local Craig's List. Just a thought.

      Unfortunately it only last for a very short period of time. We have clay and it just sucks everything out. We would have to spend around 200k to truly get the mud down, and even then it would only last a few years.

    I think Mushu said..."I'm bored...this thing looks interesting...at least it's something to do and Shea is giving me cookies for doing it". I love your dissertation on flooding. I really don't think that is the ideal way to train a horse either. It's not how you would train a dog either. If you want a reliable, confident, thinking animal partner, you need to engage the thinking part of the brain, not the fight or flight pure animal instinct mode. Flooding is all fight or flight....until the animal freezes and shuts down, stop thinking or is so afraid it's unable to think. Once it over comes that fear of doing that thing you are flooding them on, you will have an explosion and that's unpredictable as to when and how big that explosion is going to be. Flooding does not build trust and it does not build confidence in real world situations...it just creates an inability to move and think rationally to overcome a fear or aversion. Letting animals investigate and react and then helping to see the correct way to respond and then supporting their correct decision with gentle trust and a "matter of fact" level of confidence is a far better way to train any animal to use that thinking side of their brain. It takes longer to train that way, but builds a much more solid foundation of "experiences" to draw on when that animal is faced with an unfamiliar situation in the real world. It truly engages the thinking and problem solving side of the brain that we call...intelligence.

Just have a concern with your horses in such soggy paddocks and any affects on their hooves/lower legs. Have you ever investigated draining those paddocks? All of these comments of you being a horse flipper are just rude. If people want to see horse flipping, I can recommend several people aka kill pen buyers who swarm auctions every week, pay rock bottom prices, do no rehab or vetting, ride a few times like a psychopath and turn around to sell the horse off for the top dollar, saying "well trained youngster for sale that will ship to slaughter if you don't buy".

    I think what you do is great... getting a horse, training it so that when it goes to a home it has the training to make the next owner it's forever home. How can one not fall in love with what you do making a horse the best it could be to ensure a successful life. I love your training methods. I compare yours and Ryan Rose simular. He doesn't gush over the horse like you but than he's a guy and its not his horses LOL I also think its great your waiting for the right time to ride. Age is big issue. I feel for 2 year olds on the track so sad and to think they are ridden hard even before they get in a race... I hate racing. Anyways 👌 to you. 🥰

  • @Yangwolf0
    @Yangwolf0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I love what you do and respect your ability to love your horses but not bond with some so strongly you lose sight of your original goal which is helping horses find forever homes.
    With Mushu if you train him and come to find he’s not the right horse for you and sell him that’s your choice! If you trained him and he was perfect for you but you sold him anyways, I feel the logic reasoning in buying him in the first place would be thrown out the window and you’d lose financially/he was a bad investment. But that’s for me personally as I’m a logical person.
    In the end it’s your choice!

    I recommend not making this decision until you feel like it’s the right time to do it. I am not in any way telling you to not do it or to do it, just in my experience in this situation, is I pray about it, and I wait until I feel something. Either way, I bet you’ll make the right decision. Good luck, and lots of love!🤍

    Is this the special dream horse you bought for your birthday? Didn't think you'd sell him as he wasn't your regular fixer upper from an auction, but I guess even expensive dream horses don't always work out. He's lovely, I'm in the UK and these beauties are everywhere, haven't seen one like him though, pretty rare. If you do sell him, what will be your next dream horse to buy?

    • @JDMSakura
      @JDMSakura ปีที่แล้ว

      @@freespiritequestrian I know, I meant that because you originally purchased him as a personal horse (not like most of the others that are to train and sell) and is so special, I didn't think you'd ever consider selling. But as I said, it's okay if you're not sold on him. I hope he ends up working out for you, if not, hope he finds a good home that'll take care of him as well as you do.

      @@freespiritequestrian Oh okay then, I thought you were getting horses as projects to train and sell later, this one confused me because you said you bought him specially 'just for you', so I thought the others weren't personal horses, but never mind, I'm new here 🤐😂
