    Talk to your audiologist about the “plugged up” feeling you get from your hearing aid ear molds! They can sometimes create a little hole to let air breathe and minimize the discomfort. You may already know this/have this in place, but I’m studying audiology right now and got very excited to share this tidbit 😂

    Girl, YES. I have an absolute mop of naturally glossy, mixed texture hair (used to be straight, turned wavy in my mid-20s?? somehow??) that hairdressers LOVE, but looks a mess in its natural state because it holds neither curl nor proper style. I'm sure without chronic fatigue I'd find some way to tame it, but as I am, NOPE. Now I absolutely destroy it to dye it a rose pink every few months, and I've never had better hair. Love these accessible tips, thank you! xoxo

      I would say try it! But go easy on yourself and don't beat yourself up if it's too painful. Oh also, approach the whole thing with low expectations - I don't think anyone's first set was much of a masterpiece, haha. And my top tip: if you're planning to sleep in the rollers, you may be inclined to put them in before bed. Personally, I have hardly any spoons left by night-time and often my pain will be so bad that I won't have the strength to put my hair in rollers. So if you have a bit of time - and energy - during the day, I would suggest trying it then instead. Better to put them in too early than too late! :)

    the head-pressure-y feeling from wearing both hearing aids makes total sense to me. I feel it just from using earbuds sometimes. I think it might be the eustachian tubes trying to deal with weird air pressure, like when you're super congested or in an aeroplane

    • @littlebrokenbird
      @littlebrokenbird 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Its called occlusion. When you have something in both ear canals you simultaneously remove the natural "escape" route of some sounds and increase the density of your skull by "plugging up" two typically open ear canals. Sound travels faster through solids (bone) than air and so whilst you might hear sounds through the hearing aids/ear buds more loudly, your own voice and sounds of you eating might seem unbearably loud.

    It looks great! I'll have to try it on one of my wigs. My scalp psoriasis is very bad, so I shaved my hair for relief, but I wear wigs sometimes. It's actually been easier on me to style a wig, where I don't have to keep my arms lifted for a long period of time (very tiring)

    • @michellecallahan9496

      I have insanely curly hair and I can do this with mine.
      First, do not try it on clean hair. It will go frizzy and never recover. Days 3-4 work best. Dry shampoo is your friend.
      I don't straighten mine as it hates heat, but I will brush it to within an inch of its life with a soft bristle brush.
      As for the cut, I do my own. I just put it in a high pony tail, flip it over my face and take off an inch at a time, taking it down and brushing it in between until I'm happy with the length. This gives me a couple of blended layers and its shorter in the front and sides, but longer in the back. Would not recommend if you're not comfy with scissors.

    this really is one of the most clear and helpful tutorials of hair rolling I've found after many searches over time, as well as entertaining. all the others are too vague and sped up to save time. might just be me being dumb, but the fact that you showed us doing each section of hair during the rolling and combing was really helpful, bc my impatient ass always messily brushes my hair after the rolling rather than combing and shaping. hopefully this time I'll succeed!

    i have a theory that the hairstyle comes out so perfectly after this method because you are too tired to try and make each section/roll perfect, which means less adjusting or re-rolling etc of sections, thus allowing the hair to do its own thing, which happens to look exactly the way you prefer (which is just a stroke of luck lmao)

      Not sure if this will help you, but I take alka-seltzer Gold every day which helps. (The Gold type doesn't have any aspirin in it, which might interfere with the other painkillers I'm taking. It's just sodium bicarbonate and potassium.) Also, magnesium lotion rubbed onto the muscles helps to relax them.

    And then I remember I can't go 3 hours without putting my hair up in a shitty bun, and taking down at least once. My body sucks at regulating temperature just in my face/head area, and I don't deal well.

    • @kristinowens899

      Omg I have horrible trouble with regulating my temp!! It's my whole body tho, and it hasn't been that long, so I have no idea how to help myself. I love taking hot baths and showers, but I can't anymore. If I have the temp above luke warm, it will make me throw up, every single time. I get cold sweats often, and it's the most uncomfortable and terrible feeling.
      Sorry, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it, so I got excited cause I'm not alone at least.
