As a hairdresser daughter of a hairdresser I can assure you that no ones hair looks like the few minutes shown here on a 24/7 basis! This is "special occasion, going out hair" .. Its stunning & depending on texture etc may last a couple of days if fully dried.
Think this is my favourite hair tutorial ever. I can't wait to try it. Though my hair is a little long. I can't believe how well your hair curls from how straight it looks before! 👌
Oooh I love this look and I've always been envious of Rita's hair. I love Gilda, but my other faves are You Were Never Lovelier and The Lady from Shanghai. Confession: she was my first crush. I saw the famous pinup of her in a book about WWII as a small child and it was a moment.
I've always been in love with vintage styles and pinup girls so finding you has been a dream. You're such a beautiful woman and I love your sense of humor!!! Love this channel!
Dude! I just want to say, I am not girly at all and cant stand ANYTHING GIRLY. HOWEVER, i still cant stop watching your videos with or without Claudia! Including all the girly stuff, i actually enjoy it! Plus i love the way you talk and iv been watching so much of your videos i feel like im begining to talk like you! Love from Zainab the Muslim that watches your videos and enjoys it! Epic ! Keep up to good work!
theastrogherkin Malaysia Muslims are not extremists like from some other country. some of them are still rather... aggressive, but majority of them are very nice
You are so lovely!! Just the epitome of elegance and class. The world needs more of this. Thank you for making the internet a bit more beautiful! Subscribed! Cheers ❤️
My son is getting married in December and something like this is exactly what I would like to try to go with my dress. Thank you for the clear instructions! I think I can actually do this!
I'm in Betty Blue eyes in May and had no idea how I was going to style my hair. The Pin curls look so over complicated and really time consuming. This just saved my bacon. Thank you! Very beautiful BTW
I was able to do this and my curls turned out PERFECTLY! Thank you so much for this helpful and easy to follow tutorial! I finally have those beautiful vintage curls and I couldn’t be happier ❤
I can watch forever the first four seconds looped. You are so much Rita and yourself at the same time. Your beauty and smile save my days lately. Thank you so much
Although my hair's a good bit shorter I really think I'd look so darn cute with these sorts of curls - definitely going to look into buying more rollers!
Well, I’ve officially ran out of your videos to binge! Ready for many more. Thank you for being such a light and inspiration and educating those of us about disability, deafness ands many other things we may never have known (like how to curl our hair❤️) You’re absolutely wonderful!
You inspire me so much! From small things like your vintage style to the big issues like disabilities you always perk me up and make me feel more myself. Thank you!
It actually makes me happy to watch you bounce around :D you're so upbeat! Thank you for this tutorial. I can't wait to try out your technique! (shuts down the computer and runs to the store for hair rollers)
Jessica you make me chuckle you would never know what you go through daily! Your dancing 💃🏻 with the hair spray is just brilliant! Im still thinking of perming my hair! Great video! X
Just love everything about you! 😍 Now sitting with my head full of rollers 👳🏻♀️ hope it will turn out as beautiful as your hairdo! Thank you so much for sharing all your tutorials and tips!
definitely gonna buy those sponge rollers now and try this!! and btw Rita was part Spanish from Spain which means she was still European/caucasian, not Latina !
Gilda, is my #1 movie my mom showed it to me at 14 , that's when I begged her to dye my hair BRITER shared of red, see I am a red head but not as brite as Rita's was so my super cool mom may she RIP I lost my mom and my baby boy the same day, my mom to cancer my son was a stillborn .anyways back to happier times my mom used henna and turned my hair a BEAUTYFUL shade of red my hair was all the way down to my butt .BTW I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU I think you are a amazing ! Keep up the jolly good WORK 💗❤💚💜💜💙💛🌈
You are the women after my own heart! I absolutely obsess with the old Hollywood glam. And this video makes me smile, also makes me wish you were my best friend!! I have glamorous dresses and I already have the classic pink foam rollers, well I like the curls it give, plus easy to sleep in
I have an anniversary party coming up and Im planning to do my hair in an Old Hollywood style. I love Rita Hayworth and just saw Gilda last night. Man she is mesmerising. My favorite movie of hers is The Loves of Carmen.
I’ve tried this tutorial and the Veronica Lake tutorial, and both have actually worked!! I first tried hair rollers as a young teen, a decade ago, and all the floof scared me! I’m so happy with both of these tutorials, and can’t wait to try some more!
I am using this tutorial loosely for my hair in a float I will be on for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. I have just received foam rollers after using (more like ripping) Velcro rollers with my long hair, and have my hair up now. I am so excited to see if it turns out better!
Have you tried any of your vintage styles of your wife? I also have curly hair and only wash/brush once a week! I love vintage hairstyles but most of them don't hold in my long, thickish curls :(
I am seriously considering the Rita hairstyle for my wedding and, of course, you have a video about it! It looks painful yet so easy, and the result is awesome!!
Haha! I said this exact same thing in one of her vids. I honestly don't know how she came up on my suggested list, but I am glad I stumbled upon her channel....along the corridors of youtube! I subscribed pretty easily and have been binge watching since. Lol
Wooaa...Hold on!. Since when did Rita change her ethnicity???. She was half Spaniard (from Spain, Europe) and half Irish (from Ireland, Europe), so she was fully European, white, caucasoid or whatever you want to name it. She never changed her ethnicity at all, only her looks. Also she started to use her mother's maiden name (Hayworth), cause at the time it sounded more commercial in Hollywood than her father's surname. As for her first name, Rita, is simply short for Margarita, which was her true given name. She only changed a few details here and there or rather was kind of forced to do in order to "fit the Hollywood standards". But Margarita Carmen Cansino, better known as Rita Hayworth, never changed one bit her ethnicity or anything related to her authenticity. She was always one in a million. Since the day she was born. She will always be. Nice job with Gilda's hairdo!
Absolutely stunning, I do this hairstyle a lot usually using pin curls though this is by far the easiest way to do it and I have watched a lot of videos of how to, but Jessica this is by far the best and the most fun to watch too! I will post a pic of me after I've done it next time x Oh my favourite films are Down to Earth, You were Never Lovelier and Tonight and Every Night.
My hair is very fine and prone to being a bit wilful. I'm absurdly envious of both your straight and your curly hair. Mine won't do either for long. I actually quite like the Shirley Temple curls when you're taking the rollers out.
How long do your curls last? Because even when I use a ton of hairspray it becomes flat and drabby. I have straight hair like you and I normally used a flat iron to curl my hair.
To explain a bit more on Rita filming while pregnant: she filmed "Cover Girl" (1944) from July-November 1943 and her next film, "Tonight and Every Night" (1945), was filmed from May-Fall of 1944. She married Orson Welles while filming "Cover Girl" and gave birth to her first child on December 17, 1944. All the dancing she does in "Tonight and Every Night" was filmed first ("You Excite Me" is considered her best dance ever and she was three months pregnant at the time!). "Gilda" was made from September 4 - December 10, 1945, and her designer said she still had a bit of a tummy from having given birth. Rita Hayworth's hair, like Farrah Fawcett's decades later, was heavily imitated by many women and is probably the most gorgeous hair I've ever seen.
I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now. I love your hair. I'm going to try it. I feel as if I'm not going to have the same out come. :(
All right. Attempt number 2 is underway. Now with bigger rollers. And a better understanding of what I'm doing. If it does come out right shall I email you a picture? Lol
Jessica I am male as you may have guessed, but I have had a fascination with rollers and sets since I was around 3 years of age , and Ienjoy regular shampoo and sets, I would like to see a tutorial of you entising claudie into a rollerset with yourself in rollers also , then we can then also see two lovable lovely ladies with gorgeous hairstyles at the end.
her voice is so soothing and reminds me of a disney narrator
I'd love a video that is a week of your hair!! What hairstyles you do and when in relation to washing your hair.
Tatum Borealis I’d love a week of hair too! When it’s washed/how often, how to deal with days two-three-etc!
As a hairdresser daughter of a hairdresser I can assure you that no ones hair looks like the few minutes shown here on a 24/7 basis! This is "special occasion, going out hair" .. Its stunning & depending on texture etc may last a couple of days if fully dried.
@@emmsue1053 I wish though!! I'm always interested in people's hair care routines cause I never quite learned how to manage my own 😅
Beautiful!!.Rita was the best
She looks sooooo different with straight hair vs curly!!! :)
Think this is my favourite hair tutorial ever. I can't wait to try it. Though my hair is a little long. I can't believe how well your hair curls from how straight it looks before! 👌
+zoe searl ooh good luck and let me know how it goes! ✨
Oooh I love this look and I've always been envious of Rita's hair. I love Gilda, but my other faves are You Were Never Lovelier and The Lady from Shanghai.
Confession: she was my first crush. I saw the famous pinup of her in a book about WWII as a small child and it was a moment.
This has to be the closest I’ve seen any tutorial get to actually recreating Rita Hayworth’s “Gilda” curls! Epically well done 👍🏻
I've always been in love with vintage styles and pinup girls so finding you has been a dream. You're such a beautiful woman and I love your sense of humor!!! Love this channel!
Oh my goodness! I've never seen your hair so straight! It's beautiful either way!
Plus u look epic with long straight hair !! Also Claudia is soo cool!
Bushra Parveen hardcore?
theastrogherkin Malaysia Muslims are not extremists like from some other country. some of them are still rather... aggressive, but majority of them are very nice
I’m 3 years late but the immense amount of energy in this video, I love it!!! You are gorgeous!
Your upbeat attitude is contagious!!
You are so lovely!! Just the epitome of elegance and class. The world needs more of this. Thank you for making the internet a bit more beautiful! Subscribed!

My son is getting married in December and something like this is exactly what I would like to try to go with my dress. Thank you for the clear instructions! I think I can actually do this!
Oml she looks so pretty. Even with the rollers in she’s stunning
I'm in Betty Blue eyes in May and had no idea how I was going to style my hair. The Pin curls look so over complicated and really time consuming. This just saved my bacon. Thank you! Very beautiful BTW

Holy mackerel you nailed it!!! I love Rita and your hair styling, make up, everything, is absolutely perfect!!! Bravo!!!

Thank you so much
I love your voice and bubbly personality! It’s simply infectious, thanks for another marvelous video :)
Although my hair's a good bit shorter I really think I'd look so darn cute with these sorts of curls - definitely going to look into buying more rollers!
Did you ever try it? How'd it go?
Well, I’ve officially ran out of your videos to binge! Ready for many more. Thank you for being such a light and inspiration and educating those of us about disability, deafness ands many other things we may never have known (like how to curl our hair❤️) You’re absolutely wonderful!
Thank you for watching them all, wow!
You are the most darling thing I have ever seen in my entire life! What a lovely hair tutorial, too!
I’m not sure what I enjoyed the most, the hairstyle or the dance!
I have always waited for my hair to be Damp before using my foam rollers. That takes around ten years to dry. I’m excited to try this way!
definitely gonna buy those sponge rollers now and try this!! and btw Rita was part Spanish from Spain which means she was still European/caucasian, not Latina !

I love Rita Hayworth, and the curls are gorgeous! Have to try it! I think you look amazing with straight hair too, by the way.
You are the women after my own heart! I absolutely obsess with the old Hollywood glam. And this video makes me smile, also makes me wish you were my best friend!! I have glamorous dresses and I already have the classic pink foam rollers, well I like the curls it give, plus easy to sleep in
You are stunning. You are warm and inviting and an absolute joy to watch. I am so thrilled that I stumbled upon your channel.
I have an anniversary party coming up and Im planning to do my hair in an Old Hollywood style. I love Rita Hayworth and just saw Gilda last night. Man she is mesmerising. My favorite movie of hers is The Loves of Carmen.
my heart skipped a beat at the intro. Gosh Jessica, you are so gorgeous!
This hair is SO stunning!
I finally ordered foam rollers (found a really cheap set on Amazon). This is going to be the first hair tutorial I try.
I’ve tried this tutorial and the Veronica Lake tutorial, and both have actually worked!! I first tried hair rollers as a young teen, a decade ago, and all the floof scared me! I’m so happy with both of these tutorials, and can’t wait to try some more!
Yay!
I have short hair with shaved sides. I literally can't take anything away from this tutorial, but I still love it!!
You have the Gilda move down! This is my favorite hairstyle on you. Love it.
I am using this tutorial loosely for my hair in a float I will be on for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. I have just received foam rollers after using (more like ripping) Velcro rollers with my long hair, and have my hair up now. I am so excited to see if it turns out better!
I love your channel! You look genuinely vintage, if that makes sense, like you could have walked out of a film from the golden age.
I love love love Rita Hayworth and this hairstyle ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing.
I just found your channel and I'm now prepared to binge-watch your entire backlog.
That’s why I’m here too! Did you end up doing it?
I just love your hair tutorials! In fact all the other videos too haha 😄
Thanks Nathalia!!x
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard, are you decent?

Haha! I said this exact same thing in one of her vids. I honestly don't know how she came up on my suggested list, but I am glad I stumbled upon her channel....along the corridors of youtube! I subscribed pretty easily and have been binge watching since. Lol
Your hair is always perfect I don't understand
This is such a happy video with all the dancing! And the curls look great on you
OMG today i thought i want to have hair like Rita and then I found your video! Love it!

Nice job with Gilda's hairdo!
omg u look like rita hayworth as well!! gorgeous 🥺
love your style and personality but as someone else said, i LOVE YOUR VOICE
Absolutely stunning, I do this hairstyle a lot usually using pin curls though this is by far the easiest way to do it and I have watched a lot of videos of how to, but Jessica this is by far the best and the most fun to watch too!
I will post a pic of me after I've done it next time x
Oh my favourite films are Down to Earth, You were Never Lovelier and Tonight and Every Night.
I've been looking for a tutorial for this Look for so so long😍
It looks lovely and bouncy! 👍👏
This is gorgeous! I love her hair
My hair is very fine and prone to being a bit wilful. I'm absurdly envious of both your straight and your curly hair. Mine won't do either for long. I actually quite like the Shirley Temple curls when you're taking the rollers out.
just found your channel and i’m already in love !!
I just tried this, you really make it look so effortless! time will tell if it was worth the frustration. 😇😇
Just discovered your video. Stunning look, and I could listen to you talk ALL DAY. ❤️ Just caught yourself a new sub!
You are adorable. I'm so glad I found you, yay!!!!
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard If you haven't seen "Music In My Heart " you should! You'll love it. Stars Rita Hayworth and Tony Martin😁
i absolutely adore your personality!!!
I have thinner hair than yours so I hope it works similar to this for me. Thank you!
all the dancing made my eyes go wonky
You are definitely the most classy girl I've seen on the internet
I am a fan of rita hayworth and many interesting films that have her
I think of that moment from "Shawshank Redemption." When Andy takes a shine to Rita, while watching "Gilda."
Wow amazing beautiful curls thanks I think it looks fantastic oh yeah and Rita Hayworth she’s beautiful wow amazing💕
I will definitely try this! You look gorgeous!
I love this!! I’m going to try this tonight!!!
I so do not miss the aching arms of curling my hair tho
but i do love my hair curly ,it just wont hold a curl ,
your hair always looks so super
How long do your curls last? Because even when I use a ton of hairspray it becomes flat and drabby. I have straight hair like you and I normally used a flat iron to curl my hair.
I need to learn how to reproduce this with pin curls ❤
That’s a lovely hairstyle!
Soooo pretty. Love her accent!
HI there! I HAVE to know what you use to get your hair that gorgeous color! Thanks :)
How have i only just found your channel omg 💞💞
This look is absolutely stunning! How long should we keep the rollers in for? can we keep them in overnight?
Looks so cool!
I have always thought you look like her!
To explain a bit more on Rita filming while pregnant: she filmed "Cover Girl" (1944) from July-November 1943 and her next film, "Tonight and Every Night" (1945), was filmed from May-Fall of 1944. Beautiful btw you look so much like her great tutorial!!
Lol
I caught the Gilda reference at the very beginning when you flip your head!
Hi! I just found your channel and immediately subscribed! You’re so talented, and it’s nice to see a fellow lesbian so out and proud!!!! 💋🏳️🌈
you and your wife are the real life korasami ^^ thank god i found you
You’re sooo beautiful ! Awesome video, I need to get curlers like these. I have been using hot ones that don’t stay put.
I got mine from Walmart. They come in several sizes, and a durable zippered case. I bought 2 sets, and used the pink and green ones most.
Hi! Thank you for your videos! I love them so much
Love the look - stunning
Question : Can you tell me the colour /shade and brand/make of your hair colour it’s amazing
Thank you 👍
I just wondered how do you colour your hair ? Are you going to do a video ? x
