My take on Tru Hart coil overs on my 2009 Lexus GS350 AWD

  • Few months ago I upgraded my suspension from stock to Tru Hart coilovers, everything seemed well and the ride quality was perfect a little bump but good over all, about a month ago the rest started to become a little more harsh. Ex on certain bumps or bridge ledges it feels like the shocks are worn out and just riding on springs. This has caused the driving aspect of the car less fun. It’s so bad that my Subaru feels more comfortable than the Lexus itself. Perhaps I should have bought the coilovers that have the soft and hard option. I am planning to ride the car for the rest of the year as is and upgrade to Tein coilovers next year.

    your not going to beat the stock\luxury feel .Lexus spends big money making the best. i got an 07 with coilovers and im trying to go back to stock or air ride

      @@ChoppazOG absolutely and to be honest I actually don’t want the stock feel, reason why I am starting to not to like the Tru Hart is my Subaru has Tein coilovers and it’s bad when the Subaru is more comfortable than the Lexus. What coilovers are you running?

      @@GroupBEJ25 i bought it with amazon coil overs and they felt blown out so i changed to Megan Racing. They ride good but like you said they take bumps and dips hard and noisy inside i was very close to ordering the Tein's. just not fun as a daily driver for me with a 75 mile daily to work . Im torn between getting a early 2000's Ls430 or a Lx470 for my daily. i also own a 2000 gs300 and a 2004 sequoia limited guess you could say i like lexus/toyota.

      @@ChoppazOG ahhh got it interesting, that sucks I have heard stories of ppl that haven’t had good luck with the AWD GS being lowered. I just hate the stock ride height. Yep you definitely like Lexus/Toyota great cars though. I would love to get an LS too while retaining the GS as well.

    Nice 👍 brother! I got a 2010 gs350 I bought in 2017 with 80,000 miles on it and now just turned 140,000 miles with no issues (thank God). It’s all wheel drive, I’m up in the north east and it’s excellent in the snow. My wife loves it. I’m running it till the wheels fall off. These things were overbuilt and you can’t find that in other cars out there nowadays. The only issue I have is that after about 3000 miles after an oil change I have to put about a quart or quart and a half of oil in it. Other than that it’s fine. I like the white. Mine is reddish marrone.its hard to find these anymore. The people that have them are holding on to them

      I appreciate you watching + the comment. That’s awesome key word you said over built. They are excellent cars.
      Mine was burning oil too. A few things I did to reduce that was I changed the PCV valve, did all spark plugs, lastly changed the weight of oil from 5W 30 to 5W 40. That has reduced it brought the oils burning down. Lastly instead of 5,000 miles oil intervals I just do mine at 4k. Despite using synthetic.
      * you are right is actually a rare car to see out on the road* you see a lot of the 4th gen.

      @@GroupBEJ25 thanks for the info brother! I wanted to change the pcv valve but my mechanic said it was ok but I still think it should be changed. I use 5w 30 full synthetic on it and my maxima and I usually change it at 3500 or 4000 miles but not over that. I didn’t think about changing the weight of the oil but I’ll look into that. Thanks again brother

      @ anytime, yes at times the PCV valve do fail maybe yours is still good? The weight on the oil was a suggestion from my tech and it seems to work.

    Great video, I have a question, is this a good deal, 2009 Gs350 with 80k miles car has 2 dents and some scratches and the inside is a little dirty, dealer should be taking care of most of this, it is priced at $13,500, should I get it or leave it?

    • @GroupBEJ25
      @GroupBEJ25  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noahh1997 Thanks for watching, not a bad deal at all, I got mine for 11k with 136k miles now granted that’s when car pricing was high. If the dealer will take care of most of the issues I think it’s a good deal. If you can please ask for a car-fax history or you can get it yourself. This will at least show you the kind of life this car has had and how many owners etc. Also if you can check the oil, see if it’s low or it’s super dirty most of this can be tell and tell signs of the health of the car. Lastly a test drive drop down the windows and just listen for an unusal sounds. 80K is good miles for that year.
