- Hey guys, welcome to another video! Today we go spearfishing off the Gold Coast. We punch out through some big well across the bar and find a massive school of Spanish Mackerel. We bag out in less than an hour and eat some delicious, fresh sashimi. All the mackerel we speared ranged from 5kg to 12kg. Hope you guys enjoy, if you do, please consider liking the video and subscribing for more, cheers!

That's a sick little boat.
Cheers mate, its a little weapon
This fish is Eternal. The Numbers have been reduced in many countries who overfish it, but the reason is the Mackerel School moves on to the greener pastures in the next Sea in the next country away from the threat and off course its a Migrating Fish. For example many over fishing in Indonesia and PNG has resulted in the migration of Large Schools to Gulf of Carpentaria and Torres Straits and East Coast Australia. Word. No Bull.
Interesting insight!
I can never get sick of those bar crossing videos that angle is superb. Your boat eats up the chop far out you would have blown your knees out on my tinny! Great video as usual
Thanks mate! It’s goes good in a bit of chop, I use to dive a lot out of my mates 4 meter tinny and I know exactly what you mean, they can be so harsh 😂
Nice haul of Spanish would have been fun good on ya

I asked my roommate Sean if he would share the recipe. He said it’s top secret 😂
Smashing it mate, you may as well use the tld20 as an anchor🤣
Haha I’ve only used them a couple of times, definitely prefer being under water! 😂
Did I not tell you you would get one soon 🤣😂 epic vid btw
Haha your right, it’s been a long time coming! Cheers mate 🤙🏼
I told you there was heaps of mackerel, shame it wasn’t as clean as what it has been
Cheers mate! Yep on this day there was a really thick dirty thermocline at about 10 meters, I don’t think I’ll be getting out for a while with this big southerly kicking in!
Gday Mate
Just wanted to know what boat that is? Cheers
Hey mate, it’s a Haines Hunter V133 just listed for sale actually if your interested
Your spearguns overpowered probably that was a 7.5mm shaft or 7mm and 16mm c4 bands just switch to mako 14.5mm small i.d bands and the shot will be accurate
Yeah you're right, it was so overpowered. I was using twin 16mm bands with a 7.5mm shaft. I've recently changed my setup and now I use twin 14mm bands with a 7mm shaft and it seems to be a lot more accurate. Cheers mate
make sure not to anchor on the reef
Pa support bro
thats so unsustainable, no wonder why the goldy isnt as good to fish anymore, switch on boys yous are like those asian dawgs keeping 20cm bream
I know it might seem like that but to give you some context, this was an extremely rare occasion and we rarely spear this many mackerel. We might shoot 1 or 2 mackerel between 3 blokes on a good day (during their season). We’ve had shocking weather this mackerel season so we haven’t been able to hunt these fish nearly as often as we have previous seasons. All fish taken were within the bag limits and as you can see from the vid, all the meat that was not consumed within a couple days was vacuum sealed and frozen. I live in a household of 5 adults who all eat fish so none has gone to waste. I much prefer to hunt my own fish than buy it from the supermarkets where it has been commercially caught.
