I never ever ate marshmallow .. I dnt no whether I will make them at home. .... But definitely gonna buy one... 😁 They look soo delicious... Beautiful..
I just can't understand why my marshmallows didn't fluff at all! :( My son has been behind me to make some.. it was such a disaster! It turned out to be wet! It didn't get fluffy and white though my stand mixer whisked it on high for 30mins. I am vegetarian soni used vegetarian gelatin 5 tsps for 1 cup of sugar. I don't have candy thermometer but my syrup did reach the consistency of a soft ball when I tested by putting a bit in cold water. It formed into a play type soft ball which would take any shape/form. I just can't figure out where I failed or gone wrong?! I did all the steps you mentioned in your recipe Gemma but felt so bad I can't get it for my son. All store bought marshmallows have beef gelatin which is why wanted toake it at home for my son gets enticed to chewing and eating it seeing other kids. This is the second time I have failed!
It is because of you Gemma, i always prefer homemade now. You have inspired me to do things at home. It is such a fulfilling experience knowing that you are a part of your food's journey from start to finish. 😍 PS. I really am very excited to see your take on Sans Rival cake. 😊 Please?
These look heavenly! They're making me crave hot chocolate with a mountain of marshmallows 😍 I like that I can use golden syrup instead of corn syrup because CF is difficult to find in the UK and I almost always have golden syrup in my cupboard!
I love marshmallows......homemade ones are even better. 😍 Some people who say they hate marshmallows probably haven't had homemade ones in different flavors.
Your Irishness really shone through there when you said ‘now come here to me’! Such an Irish mammy phrase 😍 I love your videos, short and sweet. Hugs from Dublin!
Hi gemma. I'm from sri Lanka. I have learnt the right way of baking. Thanks a lot. Very very impressed with your service provider to people like me. I tryd your brownie!! The best ever brownie for sure. Thanks a million times. In a big follower of you're incredible baking.
Hi Gemma. Earlier this evening(It's 23:36 right now in Taiwan) I just got my wisdom tooth removed,so right now I can't eat anything, also my wound is in such pain due to the removal. Thank god the doctor did offer me the pain killer and other antibiotic. Watching this video just help me ease the pain. Thank you Gemma.
Despite my incredible sweet tooth marshmallows are much too sugary for me. Therefore, I am at a loss to explain why I love watching them being made, except to say that it's such an intriguing process. I had no idea how these pillowy, squeezable little confections came to be.
Looks great! I definitely would love to try chocolate marshmallows because I'm a big fan of anything chocolate. But birthday cake sounds really interesting too! I've used powdered gelatin before when I use it to help stabilize whipped cream.
I love how you take the time to include alternates or ways to make ingredients for those that don’t have access to some of the ingredients in the recipe!
Hi Gem-ma! I must say, this is by far THE best marshmallow recipe out there! I tried a few from 'well known' tv celebs, and they were horrible, time consumjng and expensive! Your recipe is Amazing! Thank you!
Yes after marshmallow fluff this was a must 😊😊..its great you got them right at the first go...wud like to experiment with more variety of flavours..thnks for sharing☺☺.
I like to make peppermint version of this for Christmas. I use peppermint extract, but I like to amp up the flavor by adding crushed candy canes at the end of the mixing.

Hi Gemma, The Marshmallows look so delicious !! I'm not a fan of them.My daughter is in her 20's. She always want me to make rice crispy treats.I don't have a mixer. I'll send this to her. Have a wonderful weekend !!
In the US you can easily find arrowroot powder and potato starch at health food stores and even some normal grocery stores, like Kroger. Maybe those could be substituted for cornstarch? I use potato starch for almost everything that calls for cornstarch without issue.
Hi Jillian! Yes, I know there are recipes with those ingredients but I'd suggest using one that is specifically made for alternative ingredients rather than substituting.
Amazing recipes Gemma. I am just 11 yrs old, but I love all your recipes. I will definitely try this one out. I am from India. Please try and make some Indian sweets. You will definitely love them. Love love.......

Hi gemma can I use honey for corn syrup??btw thank you so much for the recipe..I was just craving for marshmellows!!😂❤❤
Might work or might not work but you could try or omit. Honey is not a pure invert sugar
Cornsyrup is used because its a mostly flavorless invert-sugar which helps prevent sugarcrystals from forming when you boil then cool sugar
honey does not really do that well (after all it turns into a cloudy hard lump sometimes) and you might get texture issues with the marshmallows but I'm sure they'd taste fine either way.
