Thank you for reacting to one of the greatist artists out there. Lara is a world class performer and i'm not surprised that she is Dimash's idol. The way she gets into character, tells the story and conveys emotion is just phenomenal. Speaks 4 languages ( French, English, Italian and Spanish) also convertional in russian and portugese , sings in 12 , wrote 90% of the songs on her 16 albums ( 3 in english) more than 30 millions albums sold and at age 54 still the # 1 voice and more gorgeous than ever . She just started a new world tour in 2024 and i have my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal in june 2024...

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version:

Or you can check her recent excellent rendition in Paris early october 2022

Lara Fabian is undoubtedly a great singer. Back in 2017, a friend called her and told that a young 22-year-old Kazakh had just interpreted her song in China and was incredible. Lara watched it, and was so impressed by him she called him to congratulate him. The young singer was Dimash Qudaibergen (Kudaibergen), and had admired her art and work for years. Fast forward a couple of years, the two sang together as a trio at the gala celebrating the 65th birthday of famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy who composed a number of songs for Lara. That 2017 Chinese reality show had propelled Dimash to international stardom. By now, he has millions of fans around the world, has held three concert tours in sold-out venues in Nur-Sultan, Almaty (Kazakhstan); Changsha, Fuzhou, Shenzhen, and coming up, Hong Kong this December 2023; London; Moscow; Frankfurt; Kiev; Antalya; Kuala Lumpur; New York; and I think I missed some… Dimash is being hailed as the greatest singer of all time. He sings up and down seven octaves, in just any genre from opera to rap, often within the same song it the same line, and pushed the boundaries of vocal music to an incredible new horizon.
Please react to Dimash’s Adagio as performed at Singer 2017. To avoid being blocked, simply put big words on the video.

Lara wrote the lyrics of this song Adagio in English an Italian.
    Personally I like more the Italian version...;
Like she wrote a lot more songs she sings an wrote the lyrics in two or thee other languages ..
Lara speaks an writes 4 languages. Her 2 (3) she speaks fluent her native languages French and Italian and understands the language of her father Dutch...SHE speaks fluent English an Spanish.
Lara composes and writes lyrics in French , Italian, Spanish and English and sings in 7 other languages...
Beside her very beautiful, very strong velvety 4.1 octave voice in all her ranges, Lara has an exceptional breath control.
Lara can manipulate her voice how she wants ........
Lara seems to sing so effortless in every high ranges, no distorted face..;Witch makes looking to her singing even more pleasant and captivating.
Liquid gold for the ear , some say.....
Lara is very underrated , certainly in the US.
On top of that Lara is a very soft and beautiful personality

Lara Fabian was born gifted with such a talent for singing. PLUS, she was very well trained by the best opera teachers from Belgium and Italy, but she decided to sing pop songs, she also has the knowledge to sing in operatic way, she studied from her 8 to 18 at the Belgium Conservatory of Music (there she learned Bel Canto, piano [she composes her own songs on piano), she started singing professionaly at the age of 15, in 1985, her first video clipe came when she turned 16, in 1986 and her first world wide album was released at the begin of 1990. Then since 1998 she kept having vocal lessons with her Italian teacher untill nowdays, she has two vocal teachers (From Belgium and Italy) and she keeps having vocal lessons at least 3 times per week on-line. Lara also has been working as a vocal coach on The Voice Canada, she already worked as the vocal coach at the Star Academy program in France from 2004 /2008. Please react to Lara Fabian - Llora live in Kremlin 2010 (Llora means cry in English). She speaks fluently and composes in 4 languages (English, Spanish, Italian and French), but she is able to speak and understand a little bit of Russian, Dutch and Portuguese, she already sang live in 12 languages. She has many live performances holding notes like C5 and D5 for over 12 seconds, in chest mixed voice, eben C5 for 20 seconds in chest voice. Her live vocal range is Eb3 - G#6, in Studio D3 - B6. But most of all she's a storyteller white performing, she's gives everything everytime. So emotional.
    Thank you.

It's not the first time that you have chosen to ignore that LARA had a separate vocal teacher in Quebec that she turned to when her voice was stressed in the mid-1990s. She credits this woman, whose name escapes me at the moment, for saving her voice at that time.

The music for Adagio in G minor for violin, strings and organ continuo is a Neo-Baroque composition popularly attributed to the 18th century Venetian master Tomaso Albinoni, but in fact composed almost entirely by the 20th century musicologist and Albinoni biographer Remo Giazotto. In 1999 Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics to the melody for Adagio. Side note: Lara has been Dimash’s muse since childhood.
You may want to checkout others songs from the same concert (From Lara With Love 1999-2000): Caruso (Italian), Broken Vow (Lyric by Lara), I Will Love Again (made the US Dance charts), Quedate (Spanish), Perdere L' Amore (Italian), Love by Grace (a song which made her popular in Brazil), Yeliel (My angel) and I Am Who I Am.

The similarities with Celine are vowel pronunciation inherited from their native french language.
But, apart from this, Lara’s voice is less nasal, is fuller, and velvety. More resonant.
Also her upper range is less stretched, completey fluid and effortless.
Not talking about her emotions conveying, second-to-none.
