What always shocks me is when anyone else signs this song, or songs like it.. they finish completely out of breath, sucking for air, basically panting with the amount of effort it takes to sing it... Lara finishes and is like “that was fun”. Lol
Her stamina is out if this world and just one more reason she is indeed The Ring!
Even when she's holding a note for 19+ seconds, You're Not From Here, Je Suis Malade, it always feels that she still has more in the tank. There's never a hint of struggle. She's so amazing vocally and so shockingly stunning.
Lara makes this song sound so BIG, that it tricks the mind. I am like, "Wait, there were no backup singers/ vocals?"

The BEST INTERPRETATION of ADAGIO ever. One of the most beautiful voices in the world. And the difference with all the great singers who have interpreted Adagio, Lara Fabian is the one who has the MOST EMOTION with her song.

It is so hard to give props to one or another at the absolute top of the ladder.
Who is THE best? What are the criteria? Is it technique? Is it passion? Is it highs? Is it lows? Is it Lara? Is it Floor? Is it Diana (and which Diana would it be, Navarro, or Ankudinova), is it Angelina, or is it someone else entirely. There are so many great singers and the more I hear, the more I am sure there is no best for me. Just good and better ones. :)
Lara makes every letter, word, syllable, sentence of every Lyric as clear as a bell to all, no matter what language she sings in !
Yes! I don't know why don't even a single vocal coach points out the fact that her English is so great! She barely has an accent!

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, …
They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love.
Her italian version is also amazing.

And her voice stays absolutely gorgeous in those higher belting notes. There is nothing forced to produce that beautiful voice. One thing you mensioned, this is rather old concert now, but still...has anyone heard better live vocals lately...
