    Why don't you just put a standard sticky mount on the top?

      That would work great but it would have been about a 15second DIY Video. I thought this way you might be able to use this mounting method on other projects as well.

    Nice idea! I've used those joby pods on the ground but they fall over. This would fix that!

      Haha, I have some DIY lights I have made. The two soft boxes have 6,150w equivalent CFL bulbs in them and I have two can lights that have 2, 150w equivalent CLF bulbs. The two soft boxes are mounted to the sealing and the two can light I move around depending on what I am shooting.

    Or you can apply epoxy to secure the nut, or to make the connection even stronger.

    Where did u find those 1/4 x 20 inch rods? Great build might do this but I would get a longer stake

      Most hardware stores carry it, it is often with and strips and steal

    Spray the nut and screw ik with black spray paint

      Yep! That would make it look much better but it would have made it hard to show how the mount worked on camera
