    Oh wow. I was doing this all wrong. I was really careful not to use my best gear, just in case I needed it for a boss battle, and used only weak stuff instead... mostly just sturdy sticks. Then I quickly learned to ignore the weapon ghosts in the depths because they were all worthless. :P

    my personal headcanon is that the ghosts holding the pristine weapons are the ghosts of those who died in the calamity 100 years prior, and they hold the weapons that they once used in life.
    and of course, the weapons they hold can sort of indicate who they were before - anyone from a soldier, to a guard of the royal family, to a random traveler who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The calamity does not discriminate in who it kills.

  • @RevinSOR13
    @RevinSOR13 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I'd been trying to figure this out on my own for a while. Perusing TH-cam and Reddit posts.
    What I've come to learn is this.
    1: Yes, you need to break the weapons for Pristine to spawn.
    2: Certain areas in the depths will have higher rates for certain weapons. Some areas don't make sense.
    3: The saving before spawning the ghosts in works wonderfully.
    4: Regular Royal and Royal Guard weapons are the rarest in the pool. If you only want specific weapons, don't break a ton of different ones as these increase the pool and will lessen your chances for a specific one.

    • @Cojosho97
      @Cojosho97 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Had point 4 as a thought. Starting the game, using only wood sticks and whatnot initially, is it possible to B-line straight to the castle, grab and break Royal weapons, and get only those in the depths?
      I’ve only found Royal and guard weapons under Gerudo but haven’t used or broken any Rito, Goron, or Zora weapons, so I’ve been getting only Traveler’s, Soldier, and Knight gear to spawn.

    • @RevinSOR13
      @RevinSOR13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cojosho97 I've found that Royal weapons spawn the most under the Hebra Mountains just north of the desert.
      It's definitely possible to go straight to the castle as soon as you get to land, just need enough stamina refreshes for gliding over after using the Skyview tower.

Just have them suck up the weapon and they'll spit it out with a different trait. There's a Boss Bokoblin directly south of the Misisi Lightroot in the depths that always has a Cobble Crusher as well. Great to replace the Boulder Breaker if needed. You can also purchase the decayed Yiga weapons from their hideout once you find the Yiga Clan armor set. I think royal weapons are also underrated. I was testing and it seems improved flurry rush is double damage, so with those weapons already having high damage and durability they're a great option for a lot of fights.
    I dont know how it works specifically but it seems you can get of the soldier knight royal and royal guard items in the same places based on rng and how high your in game level is, i had most luck in the gerudo highlands depths area but thats likely cause i went there later and loaded in higher tier gear.
    Otherwise puffshrooms and eightfold blades are great for groups, tho if you wanted to go for sapphire rod builds either zora weapons with splash fruit or chuchu jelly to make yourself wet or gerudo weapons are good too. My issue is gerudo in particular but also zora weapons have lower durability so you run through them pretty fast, while royal weapons only have the downside that they only deal better damage in flurry rushes. Still that makes them better for lynels or boss fights that you can't cheese with statuses.
    Personally although royal guard stuff looks the coolest optimally you're only using them on lynels while going for a mount strategy when they're almost broken, but at that point either use the headshot stagger to wail on them with gerudo or zora gear or just dodge and flurry with royal gear. On top of all that you can cry at the ocd triggering red blinking of your near broken royal guard gear.
    Korok gear sounds ok until you realise you get a million puffshrooms and muddle buds already, and worst case you can buy them for poes. They don't work with ancient blades so big eh, and their damage always sucks. I rate them better than rito weapons, but honestly both of them suck even compared to soldier gear.
    Personally I'm gonna use a mix of royal, eightfold and zora weapons for durability on top of damage, plus a boulder breaker for taluses and other rocks.

      I've been wondering why everyone is hyping royal guard swords.
      A pristine royal guard sword lasts 12 hits -- when fused, it lasts 22 hits.
      A pristine royal broadsword lasts 35 hits -- when fused, it lasts a whopping 60 hits.
      Using a royal broadsword with a silver lynel saber horn, I can take down a silver lynel in three flurry rushes using the sword or lance -- and then go on and take down a second one.
      The royal guard sword instead broke midfight for me.

    • @deathtoexistance
      @deathtoexistance 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hubble5755 people are hyping the Royal guard weapons because when you mount a lynel the hits don't use durability, so you can keep it about to break forever if you only use them for that purpose. Basically people get wide eyed about the biggest possible damage number on menu screen, which is usually why they talk about the claymore instead of spears or broadswords.
      I agree though, durability and wide use is more important to me. I much prefer royal weapons and zora stuff for enemies you can't flurry rush.

    Excellent content, definitely the first video ive seen on this.
    2 questions, is it that once the weapon is broken, it will start appearing forever or is it per blood moon cycle?
    Also are the weapons spawn regionally or is any spear going to potentially spawn? Like the Zora Longsword could appear on one of the sword spawn statues under the gerudo desert?

      @@csbshaw1ah the Gerudo weapons spawn all over the Gerudo desert depths as an example, and because that's pretty flat land it's easy to farm those once you have the stone pillars marked and a basic vehicle to travel faster.
      The pillars themselves don't seem to be tied to anything that I can see as I've marked 30 or so and can't see anything on the surface that would correlate (though I haven't checked if the triple pillars are related to anything)

      @@skins4thewin no I think that's exactly what he said? At least that's what I got from the video and when I tried it myself it worked just like in his video.
      Step 1: get an auto save or a manual save close to a ghost weapon statue, but not so close that you actually load in the weapon.
      Step 2: Walk up to the weapon and see if it the weapon you want.
      If it is Not the weapon you want, simply reload the save from earlier.
      If it is the weapon you wanted, make a new save next to it. That way you make it a permanent weapon. Now, every time you reload that NEW save there will be the same weapon there. And according to his video, the modifier should be different every time you reload the new save. HOWEVER, for me I never got different modifiers, I had to resort to octorok save scumming to get the modifier I was after, but considering that I did get the weapon I was after in the end it was defo worth it despite the modifiers not changing on the weapon in the depths.

      @@mchevreI never had the chance to fully test this but I always felt that if my weapon was fused with something and then broke it, never appeared on the depths, I wasted a lot of time loading and loading the game so I decided to wait for a blood moon grab a new weapon and brake it right away, and also for other weapons I unfused right before braking and somehow that did the trick, but honestly speaking I didn't tested this long enough to define a pattern, it was all done while progressing in many other things on the game, my recommendation is to make sure you brake the weapon unfused, let me know if you have other ways to do it faster, good luck

    My zora sword casually does over 150 damage whenever I'm wet. Not including any food buffs. A full 3 attack up buffs would be over 225 damage. So pretty solid considering wet condition will last like 90 seconds per splash fruit you use.
