How of Tears of the Kingdom did you do? Did you do everything, or just the main quests? You can let me know here or follow me on my socials! linktr.ee/imklubb
beat all mainquests and like a 3rd of the sidequests after 90 hours of gameplay. game is nowhere near good enough for me to even consider going back to do the rest of the side quests let alone shrines and koroks, caves and everything inbetween .
My first playtrough, did the temples got like 13 hearts, then destroyed Ganon. Its what a hero must do. Second, I am just enjoying going around completing quests, building death machines and exploring. Well worth the 65 euros man. I still have the golden cartridge from the original NES zelda. That costed a lot of money back in the day, but dad was cool enough to say: "you did well at school, here is a chest with the gold cartridge". Quest completed. Just now I was going for a chasm, and I saw Naydra, grabbed a claw, then I forgot what I was doing. Yeah so much fun, and at 42 years old (until november) I felt the magic from 36 years ago. I hope Nintendo keeps their tradition of well made games. I know Mario is the mascot, but link is the appointed knight. This resonates so much with me, dunno why. Also 1000 korok seeds? Not gonna do it. I know what you get from it...
22:33 The satori isn’t wanting us to murder his species, I’m pretty sure bubbul frogs are cursed ones of his kind, and therefore he wants us to free them. This is why a bluepee comes out of the bubbul frog once you kill it, basically freeing that bluepee from a curse and leaving behind a bubbul gem.
Upgrading all armor to max: “Na, that’s too tedious.” Getting the extra 570 or so koroks after you’ve maxed your equipment slots for the golden poop: “Oh ya baby, you know I’m getting that!”
@@SwitchGamer84it's tracked in the sense that it's visible. Just by changing your armor it's apparent that this save file is not in fact 100% completed and there still a big objective left and unlike picking up every weapon in the game it's something you can't not notice. So if I'm being honest this video is clickbait to me.
@solidzack there is alot of shit in this game that I wouldn't count as 100% completion, yet everyone wants to make their lives miserable and slash every blade of grass😭😂
It would have been cool if there was a room for your house with shelves for the collection items like the snow globe, hestu gift, lightroot thing, monster medals, so on. the gallery rooms are pretty cool though.
Actually, I love that I found the spirit temple randomly. It truly felt like a “what in the world is this?” moment of discovery. I found it on my own, no hand-holding. It made me feel clever and ahead of the game, and that was really rewarding to me.
@@DanielMazahreh Yea, I mean the overall design could have been a _bit_ more ornate and standout in the gloominess of the Depths - but overall I _Loved_ discovering it. The fact that 2 _totally_ disconnected pieces of Land link up and slowly form into what in the end is a pretty simple ''puzzle piece'' Dungeon but so fun and intuitive. Really blew my mind when you look at it in hindsight!
When you replay the game, you realize that receiving the rewind ability is Zelda giving you her sage ability to use through rauru’s hand, since she doesn’t have a physical avatar after swallowing the stone.
You can get rice from cutting grass in certain locations too. To avoid wearing out your weapon, use a horse with a towing harness, attach the swords to the harness and ride around to cut grass and harvest lots of rice and wheat.
There’s really no point creating such a device if you played the game efficiently, such as purchasing wheat while exploring and meeting sellers, as well as using a fused sword with Claymore spin attack to cut more grass.
@@DanielMazahrehevery single comment I've seen from you is just being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. You seem completely insufferable
The ice pick puzzle is nearly identical to a puzzle that researchers gave to some birds to test their intelligence. Fitting that it was in the Rito temple.
The track that plays as you dive down a chasm is the best sound ever, when I first played the game, with no prior knowledge of the story, (thank god) hearing that made me so excited and terrified of what this dark place held. Amazing use of music to convey feelings on nintendos part
I was one of those people who came across the 5th dungeon on "accident". At first, I was exploring the underground and randomly came across the Construct Factory. It looked epic, but after climbing around for a bit I couldn't find anything to do, so I just left knowing that there was something important, likely story related, that would happen there later. Little later, I wanted to explore those thunderclouds in the sky because I figured obviously there had to be something cool hidden there. I entered the storm and the first island I landed on happened to be Dragonhead Island. Stumbled around for a bit, found a shrine and Mineru's mask and did the quest from there. At least I managed to do the memories in order and didn't entirely get the Zelda reveal spoiled. I found the abandoned shrine with the map and took pictures of all the wall paintings so I could look up the order while I was out exploring. Early on I did think "wouldn't it be funny if Zelda turned out to be the Light Dragon, lol jk XD" so I saw the reveal coming, but it was still awesome when it was confirmed.
Yeah... That seems to be the case for a lot of people. Although for some it didn't bother them too much. I personally am glad I got to experience the build up on my first playthrough
I suppose its my own fault for reading this (even though I didn't watch the video). I found the spirit quest by accident too but in the clouds. Had enough hearts by then so it wasn't an issue.... Gross. How about the spoiler that ganon dwarf is-
I had the same experience, and very strangely in Phirone on the top opf a mountain there was a falling stone. When time reversed, it leads directly to the island in the thundercloud and i thought it was intended to explore. I did everything just as you and now learned that there was an epic build up that i missed ... XD
I was exploring in the depths and came across it I assumed that I was missing something since the gate thingies kept turning red when I tried to interact with them, but I had no idea it could be plot related (this was before I did the fire temple so I didn't know sage content could be in the depths) I googled it and immediately got spoiled that there was a fifth sage and that it was mineru I wish the game was a tiny bit more linear because it just made me kinda bored when I returned to it
I came across the construct depots and the dragonhead isles first too, and at the time I liked it because I got to discover stuff on my own without the game telling me to, but when I eventually found out the whole point of the ring ruins was part of a quest to lead you to the spirit temple, I felt like I had robbed myself of part of the game. On the memories though I didn't mind watching them out of order. Reminded me of the Netflix show kaleidoscope, and I embraced the messiness of finding out what happens out of order
Weirdly enough, having only 3 hearts makes the Gannon fight easier. Because if he permanently takes you down to 1 heart, everytime he hits you, you get brought down to a quarter of a heart no matter what attack he uses. So then you can just use eat 2 apples and repeat, you're practically invincible
I used the sapphire attached to an arrow to freeze the gloomhands then a ruby attached to an arrow to set them ablaze. Works better with a multi shot bow. Worked pretty well.
An hour long review and no mention of my favorite addition, the Rock Octorok Weapon Repair Shop? They completely negate weapon damage and give you a brand new weapon!! But seriously, this was an awesome review!
I'm glad someone is bringing up the Sky Islands' absolute letdown. They couldn't talk about them enough and I've already beaten the game twice and visited them maybe a handful of times. I ended up LOVING the depths, but the sky islands are just disappointing. They're spaced so far apart and sometimes there's really just nothing there worth the effort and so I don't even bother. Great video bro!
The depths are honestly the same, mostly just a nothing burger. A couple of neat things to discover here and there, but it's a lot of repetitious filler content that gets boring after the first couple of times you see it.
@@nick15684 I disagree if only because of the enemies in the depths - I love re-fighting bosses down there and finding poes and defeating enemy camps to take all the zonite they have
I was really hoping that there would be something like a sky continent outside of the Great sky Island. Like really think about that. A giant area where you can just run around and almost forget that you're in the sky but have all the zoni devices around you!
I literally could not have said this better. Its like you took my exact feelings about TOTK and put them into words. It just needs a better balance between linear and non-linear. Especially with the story, which I am very thankful I realized the memory order and did it like that to get the full story. It definitely makes the story infinitely better when you get to experience all of the emotional impacts
IMAGINE THIS BEING YOUR FIRST ..... i'll repeat that, FIRST time you ever played a zelda GAME! tHAT WAS me Oh lord AND ON TOP OF THAT it was the first time i played a FULL OPEN WORLD GAME, the most i have is RATCHET CLANK 2020 and Pokemon ARCEUS which BTW I AM SOOOOOOOOO MAD AT POKEMON now with scarlet and violet, and went from addicted to it, to realize how possible it is to make a CRAZY CRAZY AWESOME OPEN WORLD... LIKe IMAGINE A POKEMON OPEN WORLD with the INTELLEGENCE OF ZELDA TOTK OR BOTW anyways I am stuck at the second main monster to get a sage, Not because i don't understand, but because I GET BOREDD!!! THER IS TOO MUCH AND THE STORY LINE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE! Now if this game had all the same things but had a linear story line for main quest like most games eh erm ..."pokemon" IT WOULD BE THE BEST GAME TOO ME EVER!!! I am in my 20's so Im so glad to play a true game that requires intellegence for the first time and doesnt treat me like a child!
Imagine someone finding the memory of Sonia dying as one of the first memories because you went to the Rito region first like the game heavily implied to you.
Zelda also treats you like a child, you were just in a super tight bubble called pokemon (the lowest quality franchise after sport games). If you want an actual open world game that respects your intelligence and has unique content instead of repetitious copy-pasted cr4p, play Elden Ring.@@jessebaldo1204
@ShallBePurified Yeah the placement of Sonia's memory is really bad - they should have put it somewhere you're more likely to visit later in the game :(
Yeah, the _impact_ was better than Botw but the lastability not so much so as you became too Overpowered and post game rewards were abysmal. But then in it's defence - it didn't get DLC and I _loved_ the main game content and felt the loose ends so deserved it. If only to give Us more Sky content!
The quality of this video, in both writing and editing, made me fully expect this to be from a long-running channel. It's astonishing how great this video is for how new the channel is. Glad to see all the effort got the attention it deserved. Also really love this kind of review format, a completionist's perspective and thorough review of a game, it's great. Definitely keeping an eye out for more videos in the future.
1:04:35 I think Elden Ring did this the right way. While letting you freely explore around 5 open world areas the second you step into the world, it locks you away from the endgame by blocking you from going to the capital unless you defeated atleast 2 of the 4 possible main bosses you can kill at this point in time. It also constantly shows you the directions to go down the main paths, without forcing you to do any of them if you dont want to.
I think I'd definitely like to compare the 2 more closely in the future. Elden Ring is probably the better game, but they are both just so amazing in every way!
Tears did do this, pointing you towards Rito Village this time. But they should have used suggestive Direction more, and definitely had more exciting Unique enemies to encounter and loot. I loved the Ancient Hero's Aspect though. I mean, this guy's video was very fair in it's ptasie/critique but isn't that exactly how the Zonai's were envisioned? Tribal, Animalic Warriors - but with a bit of fancy tech?
Thank you so much for this! The best heart-whelming video of TOTK and explanation of exactly the way I've always felt about BOTW along with this game..... I just found your channel today and the algorithm definitely brought this to my attention, it used to be solely skateboarding but after this game's release, it tended to veer more towards Zelda related topics' and what WhyFiles uploads. Either way keep up the good work and I give thy nod of appreciation to you and your channel. Kudos & Stay Classy
Yeah I easily got the memo on the memories' order, but beefed it with Mineru. I found the factory on my own because I live in the Depths. The sheer cliffs in darkness, the looming froxes, the weird flora, the gloom and lightroots, it's perfect. Then, I discovered Thunderhead Island because I wanted to see the big cloud mystery and had the exact number of hearts needed to get the door to open. Mineru was my second sage in the game after Tulin 😂. I still only have three sages, but I've discovered every single lightroot and have all three sages upgraded lolll. Idk I love the exploration in the game so much that I keep getting sidetracked, and the game kinda punishes you for not doing things in the intended linear order. I don't think linearity is necessarily the solution, though; rather, I think that the stuff should be hidden better and have better consequences when doing it out of order. Strict linearity in open world games is pretty bad when it's done. I think a few soft linearity checks could work, though. Make Thunderhead Island unreachable unless the player gets the lightning attack up armor like usual, explores enough to find the lightning resist armor and levels it up to level 2, or has the Lightning Helm replica from the Yiga hideout. Make it so the Light Dragon only offers the Master Sword to you after she sheds her last tear or you've talked to the Great Deku Tree or you've restored the giant Hylia statue and it tells you to seek the Light Dragon. Having multiple things that can trigger one event happening is a brilliant way to make players feel like they're playing how they want to play while still making things difficult to discover early unless you're actively seeking them out.
They already pull BotW save data to pull your horses over, you'd think they could have checked who you've talked to/what quests you've completed to see who'd remember you. Though that would make more dialogue to write/localize probably.
the thing about BotW's Champion Abilities, vs TotK's Sage Powers, is that the Champions were like an "extension" of Link's abilities-- hold the Jump button for a second, and Revali's Gale will send you wayyy up; hold the Shield button, and Daruk's Protection will nullify any and all damage; hold the Attack button (charge a spin) and Urbosa's Fury will expand your effective radius; and of course, Mipha's Grace can undo fatal damage and then some... ...whereas TotK's powers were more like the Sages directly helping Link, since you have to walk up and Ask them to activate it each time...in my opinion, Nintendo couldve made the squad much easier to use by simply changing the input needed-- for example, Holding a D-Pad Direction usually brings up a menu (for swapping weapons/bows, shields, or hand-runes)...and the direction Relates to the function-- Link holds his shield in his Left hand, so holding D-Pad Left pulls up the Shield Menu... so why not use "Hold D-Pad Down" to bring up a Sages Menu? just Tapping it could stay as the Whistle button (which RARELY works as advertised, at "summoning" your companions), but Holding it should let you select a specific sage and automatically Activate their ability (like making the water-bubble, or expanding the lightning-circle)... ...there are a lot of 'small misses' that start to overshadow the 'great hits' that this game achieved...hell, even limiting the House Building to FIFTEEN PARTS, and decorations like Flower Beds counting toward that limit, is just another example of how they were just So Close to what couldve been called a 'perfect' game...
So I kinda managed to make my way to dragon head island and the spirit temple before finishing the region phenomenon quests (a couple of hours of squinting through the fog on the map and drinking sticky potions in case you were wondering). While it was kinda cool to discover before it was mentioned, I would not advise it for a first playthrough 😅 it made the narrative feel a bit wonky when they lead up to revealing that there must be another sage only to be like "Oh.. You found it. Cool, moving on". And the following quest to clear up the island felt kinda pointless. It made the hot research dude happy though. So that and finding all the dragon tears while everyone continues to scratch their heads about the Zelda sightings lead to a few narratively jarring moments. Love the game though and I am looking forward to replaying it with full control over the pacing
For a "Zonai-less run," I think that you should still be allowed to use the Zonai devices that are strewn about, and only use zonai capsules when ABSOLUTELY necessary (which is only like twice as far as I know - getting to Eventide Sky Island and Akkala Sky Labyrinth). There are a lot of things the devs probably intended for you to use certain devices, and they will often provide those in the area.
That is what I did on my first play through. It made the game quite enjoyable, I would have probably found boring to auto build the same solution every time…
i’m not really a fan of your take on the non linear gameplay, in previous zelda games i really hated backtracking with a late game item to see things in earlier dungeons, i really prefer doing it however and whenever i want its super refreshing to have almost total freedom in a video game, that being said i do think this was a well made video with some valid criticisms, keep up the good work :)
in response to the memory order, I happened to watch the one where all three enjoying a picnic and I found it a perfect wrap up to those tragic scenes. Getting to see them happy together one last time was the perfect bookend to the PAST story. but I understand its a 1 in 12 chance....sorta. other than that good points.
I actually liked stumbling upon the fifth sage before clearing the storm! I didn’t know it was a sage and so putting it together gave me anxiety thinking I was putting together a boss fight! So the relief that I felt was so cool in addition to getting another companion
18:16 Okay bro, yo- chill! I knew what the game wanted me to do, I just couldn’t figure out how to do it. Okay! geez! and you know what! Mr smarty pants TH-cam creator, you go ahead and keep wasting all your time trying to construct the perfect auto thrower. Meanwhile I chuck one bomb at it and BOOM! puzzle done. Now who’s the idiot?
I had no intention of getting all koroks or recipes, but I did everything else I could. BOTW & TOTK both sitting over 250hrs (lol). I ended up using maps to find the last 10 or so shrines, and looked up shrine walkthrough for just one bc I couldn’t get the damn thing to curve properly (guide said to bomb the switch). I only upgraded armour that I used, didn’t get monster trophies bc lazy. Fumbling with the devices in an attempt to make something that drives/flies straight was.,, interesting. I saw loads of amazing builds people made, and I’m here like “lol it go straight yay!” I enjoy open games, it lets me do everything I want while ignoring the main story. I did find the 5th sage early, the lightning sky isle just seemed too appealing! Bosses were all fine. I died in Ganons lair when I found it early (like 5 hearts early, with 1 sage!)… all other deaths were misadventures or while running from a lynel. It always feels bad finishing a game like this, which is why I try to leave it until the last possible moment.
On my play through, I actually just stumbled upon the 5th sage and I got to say it didn't take away much of the excitement and wonder. I saw the storm and thought "There's gotta be something in there right?" Absolutely blew me away. For me personally, it felt amazing to just stumble across something so important. I understand your feelings about it though, seeing as you had a different interaction finding it. Glad different experiences in different play throughs can elicit different thoughts from people.
I really do this the best solution is to have dungeons have the linear aspects. While the world itself can be nonlinear. Really A Link between worlds is a perfect example. As soon as you’re in lorule you can to do most of its dungeon’s by renting an item. Once they are all done, do the final dungeon. Boom non linear game with linear segments. They’ve kinda done it before
I love that you can spoil the story and watch it in any order because that way you can be confused but that moment when you see it in order and it all comes together is unmatched for me
49:15 I found this boss to be really fun. It was a breath of fresh air from the “kill creature with a sword to save 25% of the map” formula that I very much thought the game would stick to. However, I do agree that being able to just stumble across the construct factory was not the best idea on Nintendo’s part.
Fellow twilight princess fan! I'm so happy to see more people appreciating tp because it's my absolute favorite zelda game! I stumbled upon you channel and watched most of you're videos because their so well done and funny. Keep up the good work you earned a new sub!❤
Twilight Princess is King! 👑 I'm glad you're enjoying my videos and I hope you continue to with my future ones. I plan on covering other stuff other than Zelda. But I've also got some pretty big plans for Zelda so I hope you enjoy and thank you so much for subscribing 😁
1:01:56 that was my biggest complaint with the game and my biggest wish too. It would have been so easy to program the game to play the memories in the right order regardless of which tears you pick up first
Honestly the depths concept was so cool mirroring the above area, but it was annoying to explore in the dark and even with everything lit up it's just the same random little camp to fight some mobs and felt boring - except the area at the top with the lava had a change in scenery I'm glad someone else agees with my view on the dungeons just not being good at all, a shell of what Zelda dungeons usually are.
One of the more honest reviews of the game. Sometimes people just don't want to point out flaws. Everything is "fire". It's like weed strain reviews. They make every strain sound like H. Good video.
only ones I haven't finished are the old sets like wind and hero, I did max sky and time, and I haven't finished the 3 dragon sets. otherwise I've maxed them all. I do wish there was master mode. maybe they will next year and I'll do it all again.
It was so much more tenable in BotW. Armor upgrades are kinda obnoxious in TotK honestly. I did the Barbarian sets and some others up to four, but God, it would take a century to do every piece.
@@banuner_ Yeah, once I saw that some armor needed star fragments to upgrade them every single step of the way, I just gave up trying to upgrade everything. And this is coming from someone who upgraded every single piece of armor in BotW other than the armor you got for getting 120 shrines in that game, which I upgraded a few times over, but I'd gotten tired of the game by the point I found all 120.
That's funny hearing you complaining about the compendium, it's probably not my favorite part because this game has so many great things but honestly I love it ! For me it adds a reward to getting new equipment or seeing new wildlife/monsters. The search function is really useful but would be too broken if it was just always available. I did also blow a good amount of money on it (always forgot to take a picture of the bosses) but I was 3/4 done on both Totk and botw before buying (which is in itself a feat because I did not realize until totk that you could actually ZOOM with the damn thing so getting pics of lizards etc. was.. difficult)
Watching Gannon's health go to the end of the screen my first playthrough made me go hysterical. Zelda turning back from a dragon however, was a little weird and came out of left field.
When it comes to weapons, I love that the rock octorocks can repair all weapons now. Even the legendary weapons can be repaired, they just need to be fused to a shield first.
The thing about the demon dragon battle not being challenging is that it's not supposed to be. The other 3 phases were difficult, demon dragon is about the novelty of switching between fighting dragons. It's cool! That's the point of it.
I thought that going to find Zelda at the castle after completing the regional castles would trigger the final boss and the end of the game, so I ignored it and went about completing almost everything else, including finding the 5th sage, before going back to Purah for her to say, 'Oh you already did all that?'. I like the freedom of these games but I'm always wondering if I'm doing things in the 'right' order, and I felt like I'd missed out when I realised I'd skipped that whole mission.
The only thing _I_ didn't like about the dungeons was that it marked the locations on the map. That's my only problem. With traditional zelda dungeons, yes I like them, but they're essentially fetch quests with a boss fight at the end. Whereas with these dungeons, it's more like ''you have a goal, find your own way there'' - and I love that you can cheese them if you really want to! There's many ways to solve a given dungeon, and you can do the parts of a dungeon in nearly any order. I love it!
I stumbled onto the spirit temple. Cause I had been to kakariko village, but they don't let you look at all the rings. So I realized I needed to come back later, BUT I didn't know when. So I just blindly went to the thunder island because... it's a huge thing on your map. No idea it was connected, and I'm kinda disapointed. It was still a cool reveal. But I think the zelda team shouldn't be so scared of locking some content behind other events. Like... They could have just not had the mask be accessible until you remove the storm, or something.
On my first play through I went to the wind, water, fire, spirit, then lightning temple. I did all of the memories in order and they were really great and added to the games plot and then I got the master sword. I did almost everything In order but I got Mineru before Riju because on my first play through I couldn’t beat Queen Gibdo because I was severely under prepared.
This is an amazing video Klubb, definitely your best one no doubt about it! I share the exact same thoughts about this game as you my friend. The shrines in this game are a big step up from Breath of the Wild. While I did love Breath of the Wild's; this game goes even further! I did enjoy the dungeons, but I'll be honest, I didn't like that they were all activate terminals. I thought the water temple was too easy. The wind temple definitely seemed to be the one to do first with it being smaller in scope, I enjoyed the lightning temple and the fire temple because I really had to think about what I was doing. Yes, I did the Fire Temple without cheating and for that I found it to be the best dungeon in the game. About the Spirit Temple, I had that exact thing happen, I stumbled across it completely by accident, while there was a BIG wow factor to that for me, I missed that entire build up, which would've been so much more meaningful and better paced. On the topic of build up, I fully agree that the memories should be shown in order, it would make the story have the proper impact it really does. I wouldn't be bothered if the glyphs stayed the same, they could be an easter egg as to where you're supposed to go. Thankfully, my memory findings weren't too messed up and did leave a big impact on me, and I didn't find the Master Sword until I'd seen the memories. I would like if we could've actually played through some bits as Zelda and maybe interacted with the characters in that time, even if they were linear sections, I'd be fine with that. On the topic of linear, while BotW and TotK use non-linearity to it's advantage that allow for complete exploration without disruption, like you say, the story's impact suffers for it greatly. I do like that there's a lot more side things to do in the game. Once I'd done the shrines and side quests in BotW, I was finished with the game. But with TotK, I've still got way more to do. With the addition of all these quests, it makes the world feel more alive, something that was very much needed for me to love it a second time round. DLC-wise, I'm glad this game isn't getting any, there's more than enough here for this game to last, plus I like that the game is a complete package, that's how games should be (most of the time). I thought it was cool for BotW to get DLC, I still miss my precious Master-Cycle Zero, but I don't want DLC to be a reoccurring thing in Zelda games.
Well said Jam! Everything you said I agree with, for sure! I'm curious to see where Zelda will go after this. I feel like there's honestly no where to go but up! Hey we need to make your discussion video now 😅
I listened to the whole video and I think you’ve done a really good job. Your critiques are fair and justified and you explain everything well. What I cannot believe is that your subscriptions aren’t in the 10s of thousands. This seems like a great channel with high quality content.
I did that deliberately because I could not figure out for the life of me where I needed to go next. You know, I could have just looked up a guide. And it would have been insanely easier 48:00
I still will never understand why Nintendo actively chooses to make their consoles the weakest they could possibly be. We know a powerful portable gaming device is possible just look at the steam deck, rog ally and Lenovo legion handheld for example. We also know Nintendo has a ridiculous amount of money and have access to the most advanced technology that’s on the market thanks to their status and wealth yet the rumours of the switch 2 being comparable to a PS4 is just silly, we know it’s possible to have a massively more powerful handheld console why do they not create one? Why not have the base switch 2 as powerful as a PS4 and then a switch 2 pro that’s maybe double the power
I liked that you could cheese the dungeons if you do it creatively, since I didn't have a hoverbike or enough battery for it. It actually made the fire dungeon my favorite.
I think you could safely say you did everything. 15:54 I didn't look up a video for this quest. I used mage hand to lift up the bridge, used rewind and ran across it for dear life. And yes, I was too dumb for the very easy baseball and target shrine, thanks. Also I agree with your statement on the temples. No heart, but the best we're going to get.
I agree with the sky islands. I just wish there was more to do up there. If they included like the remnants of skyloft or a sky stable for loftwings that would’ve been hype. But maybe I’m asking for too much haha.
The only thing I found the sky was missing was one or two more like the Great SI or thunderhead islands. Starting on the Great SI then having the rest of them be tiny is what bothered me. I’d like one really really high up (maybe in the desert) and the whole sky island is extremely cold and littered with ruins. Have something there to explore. I get the depths was exploration over puzzles but the sky under did the exploration.
Hey, hey. To be fair, that baseball shrine at 18:27 had a switch I've never seen before and when I hit it, I couldn't figure out what it did because the thing that spun was basically cylindrical so you couldn't tell it spun unless you had already attached something to it. Not to mention whatever that structure was on the right of the area that was completely irrelevant to the puzzle. I did feel dumb after I solving it though.
I feel VERY proud to say that I actually created a hover bike well before I ever looked up anything about the game, BUT upon looking it up I definitely did improve my design lol
I WAS SO CONFUSED FOR THE FIRE TEMPLE. On that one where you had to use yunobo and ramp him up the wall to break a rock and then recall a block to get up the distance.. I CLIMBED THE WAY! I seriously just couldnt figure it out, so i climbed it saying: is this the right way to go? Did the devs plan for me to do this? LOL.
Yonobo isn't THAT bad Also Fire Temple easy :P (jk) In all seriousness I would like Nintendo to bring back more regulation to dungeons. I'd be ok withmore open areas, but I want a end goal in mind. I wouldn't mind having a more linear experience every once in a while.
Dude your the Goat, Im just trying to get every shrine and cave..still haven't killed a lynel or a gleekok the hands easy gloom Ganon sucks. The most exasperating koroks I now understand why tictoks of korok abuse are so popular.
47:39 Man I feel targetted. I beat the game after purah tells me to go see the fake zelda and my brain thought, oh, to the hole under the castle, and beat the game. Then I did some exploring like I do with every zelda after beating it and STUMBLED ON THE RYJU QUEST EVEN BEFORE GOING TO THE CASTLE OR ANYTHING. Then went to the castle and saw it all happen. :'3
The issue with the Master Sword is that if you go to the Korok forest thinking it’s still there, the Deku Tree gives you a quest that tracks the Dragon. 😢
I can understand to some degree that Bolson forgot you at some point, it's been like 5 or 6 years since botw in totk (and 6 years irl) and Bolson is the owner of a construction company who has to talk to a lot of people so Bolson gets a slight forgetful pass in my books But come on... why hestu
That actually makes a lot of sense. Like... Why would the cashier at Walmart that helped me load a tv into my car 4 years ago remember who I am. That kinda thing
37:07 His total bank account sum makes the year 1986, year in wich the first The Legend of Zelda was released for the original NES. I dont know how to tag an specific moment of the video.
i feel like a better comparison to the depths would be Lorule from a link between worlds, dispite being essentially the same, there are differences, such as the fact that a link between worlds tries much harder to imply that lorule is a mirrored version of hyrule, while a link to the past's dark world is just, a dark world that had to stay within the confines of a similar map because of hardware.
PERFORMANCE FIX I hook my switch up to a medium sized smart tv and it runs extremely well plus you can use a regular controller and won’t have to worry about the battery.
I hope the next few games have nothing to do with Ganondorf/demon king. I thought botw had a better story with zelda getting a complete story arc, but if totk was meant to give an actual story arc to Ganondorf they really dropped the ball with: "im actually two bad guys in one, and we both hate light". Then again, as cringy as it felt to be going down to defeat Ganondorf...again, turning into a dragon was a great twist.
I’m the person who enjoyed the horses. I built a stable for all of my horses at home and they each are styled differently. 😅 I still prefer exploring Hyrule on horseback rather than the bike.
I did everything, including fully upgrading all armor and horses. It really did not feel like a grind. It challenges you to know the locations of materials and learn how to optimize collection. It really pushes mastery of the world, literally from top to bottom. Upgrading a full stable of horses? Get ready to buy a TON of milk from the shop in Hateno, because that was the fastest way to get it. Lizalfos tails was a "grind", but overall fun.
They just need to improve the main quest. That’s literally it. And that means better, longer dungeons and storylines surrounding them. Do not scrap the open world… this is the best improvement on Zelda.
On my blind playthrough of TotK (I only watched the announcement trailer, bc companies tend to reveal too much before launch nowadays) I landed in Hyrule and then fell in one of the only wells leading to the depths. I didnt know they were a thing and it was one of the most memorable things in recent years for me playing games. I remember my partner (we started simultaneously, but so that we wouldn’t see each other’s screen) turning around, at my audible gasp. We both were just staring. I stumbled across the 5th sage first. Found that weird door on that weird island and was determined to get through, so I searched for shrines to get hearts while doing side stuff. Loved that you could do that, actually. Sure, the quest line is cool, but finding this mysterious stuff right after the depths was, again, a very great moment.
Wow man you literally made me watch the whole video. And it was amazing an one! Thank you for your time and effort. For me you're A Zelda gunies and expert. Big shout well super done!!!!
How of Tears of the Kingdom did you do? Did you do everything, or just the main quests?

beat all mainquests and like a 3rd of the sidequests after 90 hours of gameplay. game is nowhere near good enough for me to even consider going back to do the rest of the side quests let alone shrines and koroks, caves and everything inbetween .

Iv'e done every shrine, all but one armor piece, every lightroot, and every tower so 70 something pecent.
I got to Ganon and quit the game. I hated BotW and I was hopeful this would be better, but it wasn't. Game was boring.
Upgrading all armor to max: “Na, that’s too tedious.”
Getting the extra 570 or so koroks after you’ve maxed your equipment slots for the golden poop: “Oh ya baby, you know I’m getting that!”
The difference is, the koroks are tracked. Upgraded armor is not.
He just likes hearing their little squeaks.
@@SwitchGamer84 how is armor not tracked? it's right in the menu and the amount of stars the armor has. lol
I know right?! That would have been a great idea!
There could also been one with picture frames that you can display all of you fabrics in as posters!
I also kept just imagine Link showing Zelda his new house and her being like "Uhm.. Link.. why do you have a golden peice of crap on your shelf?"
Huddson construction better learn from you.
Agree
Actually, I love that I found the spirit temple randomly. It truly felt like a “what in the world is this?” moment of discovery. I found it on my own, no hand-holding. It made me feel clever and ahead of the game, and that was really rewarding to me.
So amazing. I had the exact feeling when I discovered the fire and spirit temple. I was like, there’s a spirit temple? No way.

Wow I didn't realize that. 360 hours later lol.
You can get rice from cutting grass in certain locations too. To avoid wearing out your weapon, use a horse with a towing harness, attach the swords to the harness and ride around to cut grass and harvest lots of rice and wheat.
Cutting grass by swinging a blade doesn't wear out the blade.
@@mgratk yeah was going to say the same, but that horse trick does sound kinda cool! I wonder if you can build a zonai rice harvester
There’s really no point creating such a device if you played the game efficiently, such as purchasing wheat while exploring and meeting sellers, as well as using a fused sword with Claymore spin attack to cut more grass.
the most depressing part about the game was getting nothing but meat for using the wolf link amiibo .. RIP furrylink :/

Good observation 👍
See I’m not smarter than a bird because I got that chest in a very different and way more labour intensive way
The track that plays as you dive down a chasm is the best sound ever, when I first played the game, with no prior knowledge of the story, (thank god) hearing that made me so excited and terrified of what this dark place held. Amazing use of music to convey feelings on nintendos part
BWAAAAARRRHHHH
jump down death mountain, it's the longest drop, and you'll get to hear the most of the falling jingle!
XD
I was exploring in the depths and came across it
I assumed that I was missing something since the gate thingies kept turning red when I tried to interact with them, but I had no idea it could be plot related (this was before I did the fire temple so I didn't know sage content could be in the depths)
I googled it and immediately got spoiled that there was a fifth sage and that it was mineru
I wish the game was a tiny bit more linear because it just made me kinda bored when I returned to it
I came across the construct depots and the dragonhead isles first too, and at the time I liked it because I got to discover stuff on my own without the game telling me to, but when I eventually found out the whole point of the ring ruins was part of a quest to lead you to the spirit temple, I felt like I had robbed myself of part of the game.

IMAGINE THIS BEING YOUR FIRST ..... i'll repeat that, FIRST time you ever played a zelda GAME! tHAT WAS me
Oh lord AND ON TOP OF THAT it was the first time i played a FULL OPEN WORLD GAME, the most i have is RATCHET CLANK 2020 and Pokemon ARCEUS which BTW I AM SOOOOOOOOO MAD AT POKEMON now with scarlet and violet, and went from addicted to it, to realize how possible it is to make a CRAZY CRAZY AWESOME OPEN WORLD...
@ShallBePurified Yeah the placement of Sonia's memory is really bad - they should have put it somewhere you're more likely to visit later in the game :(
This is always going to be one of those games that I'll wish I could play again for the first time
Yeah, the _impact_ was better than Botw but the lastability not so much so as you became too Overpowered and post game rewards were abysmal.

This man spent so much time and did so many things for this ONE HOUR VIDEO and only got 300 likes? I at least gotta give him a sub
I appreciate that! Had a lot of fun making this and I hope everyone who sees it is enjoying it as well 😁
The problem with the dungeons is every time you complete one you have to listen to them saying, “So that was the imprisoning war.😮”
Fr bro. By like the third time I just got up and made food while the cutscene was playing
I just mash the buttons for a few seconds
40:20 to be fair I got a two week headache and literally cried because of the fire temple before even trying to skip it lol
I stopped playing for a good bit bc i was so frustrated… ended up cheesing my way through as well
I’m guessing the NPCs that forgot you were people you didn’t HAVE to talk to
Yeeeeeah I'm pretty sure that's the case
Yeah, it turns "how do you know me?" Into "how do you not know me?"
Yeaah but at least in tarry town, wasnt it because of link it was made in the first place?
They already pull BotW save data to pull your horses over, you'd think they could have checked who you've talked to/what quests you've completed to see who'd remember you. Though that would make more dialogue to write/localize probably.
@@hyperbola0 this is true. But they made the game bigger, so memory probably couldn’t support the extra dialogue. 🤷🏻♀️
the thing about BotW's Champion Abilities, vs TotK's Sage Powers, is that the Champions were like an "extension" of Link's abilities-- hold the Jump button for a second, and Revali's Gale will send you wayyy up; hold the Shield button, and Daruk's Protection will nullify any and all damage; hold the Attack button (charge a spin) and Urbosa's Fury will expand your effective radius; and of course, Mipha's Grace can undo fatal damage and then some...
...whereas TotK's powers were more like the Sages directly helping Link, since you have to walk up and Ask them to activate it each time...in my opinion, Nintendo couldve made the squad much easier to use by simply changing the input needed-- for example, Holding a D-Pad Direction usually brings up a menu (for swapping weapons/bows, shields, or hand-runes)...and the direction Relates to the function-- Link holds his shield in his Left hand, so holding D-Pad Left pulls up the Shield Menu...
so why not use "Hold D-Pad Down" to bring up a Sages Menu? just Tapping it could stay as the Whistle button (which RARELY works as advertised, at "summoning" your companions), but Holding it should let you select a specific sage and automatically Activate their ability (like making the water-bubble, or expanding the lightning-circle)...
...there are a lot of 'small misses' that start to overshadow the 'great hits' that this game achieved...hell, even limiting the House Building to FIFTEEN PARTS, and decorations like Flower Beds counting toward that limit, is just another example of how they were just So Close to what couldve been called a 'perfect' game...
Same here. I haven't done dragon Island without the thunder yet. Is was tricky but I knew there had to be something cool there.
I saw loads of amazing builds people made, and I’m here like “lol it go straight yay!”
I enjoy open games, it lets me do everything I want while ignoring the main story.
They’ve kinda done it before
I love that you can spoil the story and watch it in any order because that way you can be confused but that moment when you see it in order and it all comes together is unmatched for me
There are no story spoilers. The game’s memories are perfectly structured.
Man, you need WAY more subs. This is amazing.
I super appreciate that! Regardless of my sub count I always strive to make fun and entertaining videos. Thank you so much!
49:15 I found this boss to be really fun. It was a breath of fresh air from the “kill creature with a sword to save 25% of the map” formula that I very much thought the game would stick to. However, I do agree that being able to just stumble across the construct factory was not the best idea on Nintendo’s part.

1:01:56 that was my biggest complaint with the game and my biggest wish too. It would have been so easy to program the game to play the memories in the right order regardless of which tears you pick up first
Honestly the depths concept was so cool mirroring the above area, but it was annoying to explore in the dark and even with everything lit up it's just the same random little camp to fight some mobs and felt boring - except the area at the top with the lava had a change in scenery
I'm glad someone else agees with my view on the dungeons just not being good at all, a shell of what Zelda dungeons usually are.
One of the more honest reviews of the game. Sometimes people just don't want to point out flaws. Everything is "fire". It's like weed strain reviews. They make every strain sound like H. Good video.
Are you kidding me? The prize shrines we're fantastic! I loved solving the puzzle outside to then getting inside.
I wouldn’t wish upgrading every armor piece in the game on my worst enemy.
only ones I haven't finished are the old sets like wind and hero, I did max sky and time, and I haven't finished the 3 dragon sets. otherwise I've maxed them all. I do wish there was master mode. maybe they will next year and I'll do it all again.
It was so much more tenable in BotW.
Armor upgrades are kinda obnoxious in TotK honestly. I did the Barbarian sets and some others up to four, but God, it would take a century to do every piece.
@@chambeet i saw that you would need over a hundred star fragments. That alone would take SOOOOOOOOOO long
@@banuner_ Yeah, once I saw that some armor needed star fragments to upgrade them every single step of the way, I just gave up trying to upgrade everything.
Yea its more of a interactive cutcene a cinamatic final hurah if you will so ut makes sence
I didn’t even know that I spoiled it for myself. I just flew into the storm and found the shrine then mask and Sage. 😢
I love it!
Depths was so fun to explore. I discovered every light root without a guide because it was so fun
37:16 Having $19.86 as a bank account amount greatly satisfied me for referencing Zelda 1's release year
On my first play through I went to the wind, water, fire, spirit, then lightning temple.
Hey we need to make your discussion video now 😅
Fun fact if you also have the master sword, when u get the last sage early, purah also says AND YOU HAVE TO MASTER SWORD TOO!"
I have had a lot of fun with this game, it is massive btw
I listened to the whole video and I think you’ve done a really good job. Your critiques are fair and justified and you explain everything well. What I cannot believe is that your subscriptions aren’t in the 10s of thousands. This seems like a great channel with high quality content.
The underground part of the water dungeon reminded me so much of the water temple from twilight princess. Anyone else?
Dude you did everything for sure I’m very impressed
I think you could safely say you did everything. 15:54 I didn't look up a video for this quest. I used mage hand to lift up the bridge, used rewind and ran across it for dear life. And yes, I was too dumb for the very easy baseball and target shrine, thanks. Also I agree with your statement on the temples. No heart, but the best we're going to get.
I agree with the sky islands. I just wish there was more to do up there. If they included like the remnants of skyloft or a sky stable for loftwings that would’ve been hype. But maybe I’m asking for too much haha.
That would have been sick! Could you imagine?!
Fun fact: you can whistle so your companions come to you ;)
Nah, there's no defense, that shrine was insanely easy
*Revali’s gale is now ready*
I feel VERY proud to say that I actually created a hover bike well before I ever looked up anything about the game, BUT upon looking it up I definitely did improve my design lol
I WAS SO CONFUSED FOR THE FIRE TEMPLE. On that one where you had to use yunobo and ramp him up the wall to break a rock and then recall a block to get up the distance.. I CLIMBED THE WAY! I seriously just couldnt figure it out, so i climbed it saying: is this the right way to go? Did the devs plan for me to do this? LOL.
Yonobo isn't THAT bad
Also Fire Temple easy :P (jk)
In all seriousness I would like Nintendo to bring back more regulation to dungeons. I'd be ok withmore open areas, but I want a end goal in mind. I wouldn't mind having a more linear experience every once in a while.
Duuuuuuude same! Like... It's totally ok to mix linear and non-linear stuff together....
I would love that so much if they did that
Great video! Love how you go over what the game gets right and what it misses the mark on without going on about the lore and timeline.
Dude your the Goat, Im just trying to get every shrine and cave..still haven't killed a lynel or a gleekok the hands easy gloom Ganon sucks. The most exasperating koroks I now understand why tictoks of korok abuse are so popular.
3:43 the game froze for like 5 seconds when dinrall was exiting the dephts
47:39 Man I feel targetted. I beat the game after purah tells me to go see the fake zelda and my brain thought, oh, to the hole under the castle, and beat the game. Then I did some exploring like I do with every zelda after beating it and STUMBLED ON THE RYJU QUEST EVEN BEFORE GOING TO THE CASTLE OR ANYTHING. Then went to the castle and saw it all happen. :'3
I miss my dear darlin in new Atlantis, but she can wait. I'm making a pit stop in Hyrule 🗡️ 🛡️
The issue with the Master Sword is that if you go to the Korok forest thinking it’s still there, the Deku Tree gives you a quest that tracks the Dragon. 😢
“Hi my name is Sonia.” FUCKING EXPLODES
Tbh I miss playing twilight princess
5:30 THATS HOW YOU DID IT? i spent like 3 seconds making one of those flying bikes then carried the stone over XD
i hate sidons "wife"
I can understand to some degree that Bolson forgot you at some point, it's been like 5 or 6 years since botw in totk (and 6 years irl) and Bolson is the owner of a construction company who has to talk to a lot of people so Bolson gets a slight forgetful pass in my books
But come on...
Bangers as usual Klubb 👉😎👉
Thanks so much man! Banger art as usual! 😎
i feel like a better comparison to the depths would be Lorule from a link between worlds, dispite being essentially the same, there are differences, such as the fact that a link between worlds tries much harder to imply that lorule is a mirrored version of hyrule, while a link to the past's dark world is just, a dark world that had to stay within the confines of a similar map because of hardware.
I'm still hoping for a Kass & Pen DLC side story 😭😭😭
That would be absolutely amazing if they did something like that!
I think Future Zelda Games can be made like:
One Botw/Totk ish
And
One Classic Zelda game
To avoid getting bored of both formulas at the same time
w video
PERFORMANCE FIX I hook my switch up to a medium sized smart tv and it runs extremely well plus you can use a regular controller and won’t have to worry about the battery.
I thought this was a 100% playthrough and instead its just a complaint letter
20:07 This made me fall over my chair and die of laughter.
Wow man you literally made me watch the whole video. And it was amazing an one! Thank you for your time and effort.
For me you're A Zelda gunies and expert. Big shout well super done!!!!
6:03 the pirates shouldve had pirate hats on
