Maybe not the greatest but if you are starting at number one it doesn't take long to get to Ann. I her lane none were better. Like her Ann knows what she can and can't do and did that. She's always stayed in her lane it's why she always sounded great. She never did a song she couldn't do. Most singers don't do that.

Ann & Nancy Wilson are the core members of Heart but they are not the founding members. Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They auditioned Ann in 1970 and immediately made her their lead vocalist. Nancy Wilson joined Heart in 1974. They were a 6 member band. Roger Fisher was voted out of the band in October of 1979 and Steve Fossen left the band in March of 1982. This song is so amazing. According to Billboard and R.I.A.A., this song was the number one song, of the world, in 1987.

Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. Ann has one of the most amazing voices that can bring emotion and smoothness at the same time, and Nancy is one of the greatest rock music guitarists, male or female. The band Heart has re-invented themselves a couple of different times. For their best iconic version, check out their 1970's songs such as "Barracuda", "Dream Boat Annie", and "Magic Man", and many others. This song is from the 80's where they went with more of a hair-band style.
There are several '70s bands that adopted dramatically different '80s personas and musical styles, but Heart is one of the most drastic examples. Not only did their look change, but their music shifted from a folk / rock combination to this type of brassy, vocally-centered diva-type sound. Both Heart styles are great. But my sense is that Ann and Nancy didn't much like their '80s look and sound.

You should take a look at their performance in front of Led Zepplein at the Lincoln Awards. They did Stairway to Heaven-the rock anthem-in front of the band and had Robert Plant, the lead singer, in tears. If you can do that, you’ve made it. Ann Wilson’s voice is thee female voice of pop and rock.
Check out Heart doing Stairway to Heaven during the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin, with the surviving members in the audience. Jason Bonham son of the late John Bonham is on drums. A really moving performance.
They paved the way for female rock bands. A head of their time.

A huge outdoor concert at the old Ontario moter speedway in California.
They were one of ten bands that played at this concert.

These two ladies are rock legends. And despite Ann getting most of the attention as a singer, Nancy is every bit her equal. In fact, in their first big hit, "These Dreams", it is Nancy, not Ann, who provides the amazing vocals. Not to mention her kick-ass guitar playing. Together they are legend.

I have tickets to see Heart at the Charleston (WV) Civic Center in August, and it will be my fifth time seeing them live. The first time I saw Heart was in 1975. The supporting act will be Cheap Trick and should be quite a show.
As others have mentioned, their "Stairway to Heaven - Kennedy Center Honors" is exceptional. However, be sure to listen to the FULL (7:59) performance as there are chopped versions that cut out a full minute or more, including the entire second verse and great vocals by Ann. Hi Ola. You make me smile whenever I watch your reaction videos. What makes me smile more is when you talk about how beautiful Anne is and it seems to take your breath away. It reminds me of when I first met my wife at school and here we are 54 years later, still together and married. Well my dear YOU take MY breath away when you review the music of my era because the times we lived in during the 60s and 70s needed protests and change. Our music led those changes but I feel privileged to live through that period. I hope you understand that. So keep up the great work lovely lady.

There is no bad Heart song. Best band ever. Check out Barracuda, These Dreams, and their Kennedy Center tribute to Led Zeppelin singing Stairway To Heaven. Also, the live performance of Crazy On You, featuring an amazing intro of Nancy's acoustic guitar solo. Nancy also sang lead in These Dreams, although Ann was normally the lead singer. I once saw them in a live concert, and they were even better than on their recordings.

I live here in Lockwood Washington state. Ann has a home here in Madrona Estates. I actually had Ann on my humb me 19’ boat on American lake. She was gracious and very humble. We had beef sticks, cheese and a glass of vino. Greatest song sever

I know it's been mentioned, but Heart's tribute to Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven)...in front of Led Zeppelin, is the most beautiful and emotional musical experience that I've ever seen on tv...and I'm frickin' old! (be sure to find the FULL VERSION).
They toured through western Canada so often in the 70s and early 80s that we just assume they are a Canadian band lol.

This was stage 2 for Heart, after they broke out in the late 70's, into the hair-band era of the 80's. Nevertheless, Ann's voice is just as powerful as ever and Nancy still had that rock strut with the guitar perfected.

I always thought Heart was good but they ascended into greatness imo when they did "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin. It is a stunning cover that will bring chills and tears.
The late John Bonham's son Jason is on drums. As it turns out they have loved Led Zeppelin for years and performed many of their songs live. You will see Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones reacting emotionally.

If you like this one, check out the version that they did at the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra. It is on TH-cam and it is just mesmerising. It is such a huge song that means so much to so many people..... you have to watch it. I promise you, you'll adore it. And trust me, I was there and it was just spinechilling.
The song was from the 1980s when Heart made kind of a comeback and were a little more mainstream. They first got big in the 1970s with songs like Barracuda, Crazy on You and Magic Man, all of which are definitely where you should go next. However, they have so many great songs like Little Queen, Dreamboat Annie, Kick it Out, etc. They are in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Also, you will get a lot of requests for their Stairway to Heaven cover in front of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors, but I'd do more of their originals first and if you have not done Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven (I think you have) then do the original before doing Heart's cover, though you should definitely eventually do Heart's cover.

She is a true traiblazer and paved the way for all women to follow in the world of metal. She was the singer for Warlock and their major song is “All We Are”.
