    I restored a 1989 rm125 last year fully rebuild the engine and tore it down to the frame and made sure everything was good and replaced everything that needed to be and got it running and looking mint then gave it to a friend of mine who couldn’t afford a dirt bike and he loves it and rides it all the time

    Yeah I rescued a 2001 YZ 250F About 9 years ago. I brought it all the way from a blown up engine with metal debris in every oil journal lol it was crazy like nothing I've ever seen. The crankshaft was broken the piston was cracked. My biggest worry was making sure that I got all of the metal debris out of the engine and oil lines. Dropped a Hot Rods big bore kit in it converted it from manual decompression to automatic decompression what a big difference that made. It was a piece of junk sitting on the side of somebody's house for years in Las Vegas Nevada. After everything was said and done it was an extremely nice bike again and it ran like a champion . Time money and effort gets er done and know how.

    Don't forget to check the other side "female side" of those worn dogs in the adjacent gear. With the rounding on the dogs, there will likely be the same or similar wear on the other gear too.

    Send the cylinder to millennium technologies in Plymouth wisconsin. They do great work and can fix that cylinder to stock bore or big bore. I sent my yz 125 cylinder to them that was trashed and it came back looking brand new for a little over $300 and that included shipping. Just take the cylinder head studs out and ship it to them . You should have your cylinder back in 3 weeks. They also have a lifetime warranty on the repair !! They also sell piston rings and gaskets but check pricing, I found a complete wiseco top end kit and cometic gasket kit for $100. I think millennium was more expensive for the same kit.

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They could be but I reckon that someone poked something through the old clutch basket and jammed it up against the webbing on the case in order to loosen the clutch nut, they then broke the webbing off and did not bother to get the broken bits out of the engine! Some people should have their tools confiscated because of the cruelty that they inflict on mechanical devices.

    I was going to ask if a wrench rabbit kit wouldn't be less expensive than all those rebuilds but they're proud of those RM parts! I blame TP199!

      Work hard, save some money, buy a basket case, or barn find, and take your time to rebuild it. You can do anything you set your mind to - even if your only 12.

      Never get married or have kids...and you'll be a rich man.
      Ask your dad....and he will probably say yes
