    You are replacing the Coil, The Ignitor is under the motor attached to the Rev limitior bracket.

      I actually replaced both, I referred to the coil / magneto in correctly as I was talking at one point. But replaced both the rev limiter and coil to fix the issue. Thanks for clarifying.

      now we'll say 2006 and up the igniter is built into the coil it's not behind the rev limiter

    How was your rev limiter wired?

    I have a club car with the belt on the driver's side. I'm trying to purchase the rear axle but there are no serial numbers or model number plates . I would appreciate any help.

      I would try talking with someone from a supply house like the Cartbarn. Good Luck

      @@horseshoer4527 mine shows weak fire at plug but will not crank, what could be the problem.

    If some of the plastic fins on the flywheel broken would that cause a problem?

    • @horseshoer4527
      @horseshoer4527  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends. They are there to help with cooling and air flow. So if to many are broken then engine might not cool. Also if the flywheel gets out of balance that might cause irregular movement and timing but in my view a few broken should not hurt. Needs to be pretty bad.

    Thanks for the video. Did this fix your problem? I’ve been having the same problem on my cart...

      Yes, no more problems. Starts and keeps running even after it heats up.

      @@horseshoer4527 Hey my man quick question, how does the rev limiter aid in the engine spark. My neighbors cart isn't getting a spark even after I replaced the igniter. And yes getting to the igniter is annoying to say the least. ✌✌

      The igniter is a little gold square box I didn't see it on urs get back with me on this I installed new rev limiter hooked up now started up ran then came back out to ride battery went dead charged battery will not start I noticed cut the lights on an as soon as selonoid clicks an lights dim I took off rev limiter behind rev limiter in a brass plate isn't the ingnighter sopose to be mounted to that right don't see it no where when I took off plate but it's like something touching some where as soon as hit gas pedal it's almost like something not right I could not put rev limiter back one I ordered was a little bigger so had to mount to frame but hooked up everything like it was it ran then it was like something was crossed I say crossed cause when pedal pressed like a short of power some where I don't get it.these dam gas engines have mind there own

    Thanks for good information. Why don’t we call it the shroud of secrecy, your video starts after the hard job is over, getting the shroud off, I’ve got the shroud loose and now it looks like I’m going to have to remove the motor or at least a four bolt out of the bottom to slide the mower forward.

    • @horseshoer4527
      @horseshoer4527  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was able to get it off by removing the screws and it pulled out. good luck

    Having done this job on the reg, it's easier to just remove the engine. It's only a few bolts and it's not very heavy. Drop it out, put it on the bench and perform the service.
    Don't ever remove the rev limiter on these engines, they are very prone to valve float at high rpm and it will cause premature failure of a motor that is rather hard to get since Kawasaki left the US small engine market. The Subaru EX40 is garbage and the Kohler in the new ones isn't much better.
