Another in this series. My take on a low gain overdrive, the grounds it’s covers and what I wanted to achieve with it. #overdrive #lowgain #effectspedals #guitar #guitarist
I got my Peacekeeper a couple of weeks ago and love it. It can be used as a stand in for my Klone (which has been knocked off the board, j rockett archer ikon/bondi sick as interchangeably), Bluesbreaker (Browne Carbon), and my boss bp-1w. I can now keep different flavors of gain in my lineup which is great for experimentation.
Just realized, isn’t the knob placements odd? Like wouldn’t it have been more natural having the volume top left, drive top right, bass bottom left, mids in the middle and treble bottom right? 😂😂
well it depends how your mind works. Volume is often set and forget, gain gets changed a lot so it's more prominent. the eq is placed as such becasue it is a SPLIT eq with the press being before the gain and the Bass and Treble. visually this is represented in the layout. but there is also the fact that I layout circuits to keep track runs as short as possible and placed according to where they are in the circuit.. there is method in the madness.
Hey man, I'm having trouble deciding on what to buy in replacement for my BB Reissue! I had no problem with the BB, other than the footprint, and there being more versatile options out there! I was wondering what you thought about my options: - ThorpyFX Peacekeeper V2 - JHS Morning Glory V4 - Wampler Pantheon - MXR x Analog Man Duke of Tone I still want that sweetness from the BB, so I'm curious what you think suits my needs more! I also already have a Wampler Moxie, Tumnus Deluxe, and Lil' Rat. Let me know!
Hey man, all are great options, I can only really speak to the peacekeeper. It was designed to allow the user to get a load of different type of tones, from Klon, to tubescreamer to bluesbreaker. The key is the EQ allows you to dial in the sound you want so you’ll be able to get bluesbreaker but laps be able to match it to your amps.
@@tiuditto As a longtime fan of the OCD myself, im certain it can cover that off too. as for keeping the BB.... good plan, have a small studio board too.
@@thorpyfx2679 probably unlikey you can do this but, you think you can do some comparisons between the orig bb, morning glory, duke of tone, OCD and this peacekeeper? I really wanna hear a bout against all these pedals!
@@tiuditto hey, as much as i wish i had time to do this, i really don't (apologies) id recommend you go to one of awesome dealers and do this yoursel. all the best, Thorpy
My favourite overdrive! :)
I've got so many low gain OD's...TIMs, Timmys, Klones, Kingsley Page, Benson preamp etc etc. but I'm still tempted 🙂

Wonderful to hear and thanks so much for supporting us

@@thorpyfx2679 haha, yeah I might just get it. You think I can dial it to match an OCD? What if I just keep the BB and get a peacekeeper 👀

Ok, but why did you etch the top half of a pencil case on it?
thats the underneath of the nosecap for a peacekeeper missile...
@thorpyfx2679 ...but I can see the pencils poking out...
@thorpyfx2679 BTW why have you stopped doing the ER vibe and pulse doppler? I hope this means you have new models coming soon?
@@Madmax-rz5hz lots of reasons, mostly to do with parts availability.... boring answer i know.
@@thorpyfx2679 😭 should've got one when I had the chance, oh well...
