Does anybody smile as much as Becky when she's on a hiking trail. Wonderful inspiration for all to enjoy a walk outdoors. Safe travels and delicious fish & chips.
I love hiking alone its so fun but every single time with achy shoulders, hurting knees and ankles i say to myself "why do you do this to yourself" then i reach the top and see utter beauty and it is always more than worth it, never gets old, its so good for the soul
the absolute complaining i do in my own head while doing 14ers in Colorado just to make it to the top and be like, "omg so worth it~🎉" just to do it every time.
There is no better reward than to get to the top of any hill/mountain/fell and look around thinking, “for now, this is all mine”. And I can assure you, this feeling is recalled well into the days/years you can no longer do it. Videos like this help to kickstart the nostalgia.
They also support the local community rather than the dried food manufacturers, especially on the Pennine way and other notable walks where the hikers keep many traditional inns and pubs going.
Hi Becky, what a refreshing video,to see young people like you out there on the PW,I did it back in 1990,it has a kind of magic & draws you to it,if your interested there’s a video on You Tube called a Pennine Challenge it’s 4 youngsters doing it back in the 80’s,all the best with all your adventures,Colin P👍.
Great video Eddy. And I learned a lot as always. I got on a bus in Stirling about a year ago and asked the driver where I should get off the bus so I could go up those hills. she said Blairlogie, but then she changed with another bus driver and when I asked him he said he'd tell me where to get off and it was ALva and he pointed me toward the Glen, I went on up and just kept climbing up till I eventually got to the highest point, was a long old way. It was amazing though and since then I have been back 3 times with the other half and she loves it too. A special place for me. John
I love the way you speak and you have such a lovely way of describing your journey . You are so positive …even when it is raining or you are attacked by midges . I am 75 years old and I only wish I could have followed hikers like yourself back when I was in my 30’s as I would have loved solo hikes and camping . Thank you for allowing me to join you on your adventures . Mary Shepherd of Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Lovely landscape. The rain reminds me of my home here in Oregon ( USA). The beauty of the internet is sharing adventures with people around the world. Really enjoy your videos. Cheers 🌞 🚴♀️ 🖖
I have fond memories of Kirk Yetholm, used to be the summer base as a kid, for trips along the wall, among and over the Cheviots, and the great Northumbria coast, the trips over to Farne was always great, but Lindisfarne will forever remain a beloved place, we missed the tide and had to camp on the beach, one of my favourite memories of childhood.
Loved the video Becky. You two are absolute troopers. I liked your wild camp above Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales. Must admit I was willing you to put your feet up in a local pub and stay at the Malham campsite as a treat.
Great to see you walking the Pennine Way. It is iconic and when I finally completed it (on the second attempt, after attempting too many miles in one day the first time around and suffering from terrible blisters) that cemented my love of long distance walking, a long, long time ago now!
I hiked the pennine way from edale to kirk yetholm in the summer of '21, after my first year at uni. It was a great walk and is still one of my most memorable backpacking trips. I'd highly encourage you to do the rest of the way - especially the section with high force, Dufton etc and along hadrians wall (we did a detour to look at Vindolana one afternoon). It was also great getting into Scotland and having the benifit of the bothys on the final days Ive only just found your channel and it is amazing. Thank you for sharing your journeys and best of luck on your next adventure 👍
What a nice journey trekking and wild camping on the Pennine Way for a week! Your adventure looked both challenging and rewarding, and the landscapes were absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing your experience and all the useful gear recommendations. Take care and keep smiling! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
Another great video, thanks Becky. I love that area above Settle up to Hawes. Thanks for the tip for the Suunto headphones, I also have small ears which ache dreadfully with earbuds etc!!
Lovely content as always. South/West/North Yorkshire is my local area for hiking so I’m glad you enjoyed it and are showing it to the world. I also like how the rain doesn’t get you down, I quite like the rain it’s invigorating.
It's was mice to see you out hiking 🚶♀️ looked a bit windy yeah it was good nice video and fish and chips looked nice and quiet hoped you enjoyed the trip stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
Always a joy to watch your trips, love your smile and endless positive approach no matter what occurs. For year's the penine way has been in mind as I remember my uncle walking it when I was a kid, probably about 5. One day I will get it done. Another great video, fair play to Jake for doing lejog on foot, day 54 is some going.
So beautifully filmed, thank you. The joy of the adventures shines through in your face. Great trek by you both. Have to ask though, are you wearing a skort or something else and why? Is it lighter? Less friction? Some other reasons?
That takes a really strong mind and determination to walk all them miles 😮 I can’t go to the shop without driving 😂 so lazy me, great video, your an incredible inspiration 💪💯 keep up the great work
love this video!! i would love to do something like this but how do know where your aloud to camp? assuming you can’t just go anywhere, are there specific places?
I walked the PW when I was 15. The day I arrived in Edale - and despite being Christmas eve -was akin to summer. During the wee small hours of Christmas day it rained. And, basically, it rained hard all the way to Kirk Yetholm. I finished in the PW in 17 days; one of those PW days forced me to walk non-stop for a whole 24 hours because I wanted a break from another night on a wet floor in a wet sleeping bag wearing wet clothes in a wet tent. And I arrived 20 minutes outside Kirk Yetholm late in the evening. I sat. I felt cold. I felt extremely sorry for myself. And I was frustrated - and wet-through , too. I'll not lie: prior to me walk I was OBSESSED by the PW. John Noakes; AW; John Hillaby. There is a small hill separating the end of the PW and leading down into ones entry into Kirk Yetholm. I left all thoughts and feelings for the Way on the other side of that hill. Still, nostalgia will make me watch your PW. Hope you were dryer at your journey's end than the 15 year-old version of myself was .
I would love it, Becky, if you occasionally included some history. For example, "Look, this is Hadrian's wall." Perhaps, the original reason and date on Pennine Way. From your number one fan in Wisconsin, U.S.A. TGP
Typically a "Girl Outdoors, Becky", awesome video, that leaves me spell bound with admiration for such a lovely young woman living her life her way. May you always have trails calling for your feet Becky. So far in the years that i have watched and avidly followed you, you haven't posted a video I haven't enjoyed immensely, even if it doesn't fit YT's slot for you.
Some familiar places you visited there - Settle, Malham, Edale and Hathersage. I've been to those places at different times. As you said, such a beautiful part of the country. I'm nowhere near as fit as you though. All that walking would kill me! Keep smiling :)
Hail is not from cold weather. Hail comes from very tall cumulonimbus storms with strong updrafts, where the falling water droplets get pulled up very high, where it's very cold, over and over, freezing and then growing larger. When a hail stone gets so large that gravity pulls it down more than the updrafts can pull it up, it falls to earth.
Becky, why was your pack twice the volume of Jake’s when he’s walking 10x as far? I wish Jake well, it is an awesome achievement to do LEJOG. Especially arriving when the Scottish Midges are at their most virulent.
I would love if you showed the lovely scenery you talk about. And please tell us about, and show your beautiful country's characteristics while hiking a terrific walk like this one. All the best!

Pub meals in fine English villages along the way are a big part of the joy of the trek.
They also support the local community rather than the dried food manufacturers, especially on the Pennine way and other notable walks where the hikers keep many traditional inns and pubs going.
And a couple ales if they are on offer of course!
Your smile is your trademark, even in bad weather you can still smile and light up the world x
Hi! My name is Denis!I'm from Ukraine, your videos are very pleasing, thank you, and good camping!

Great video as always. Is there a site or hub or something for contacts you use to find the landowners to ask permission to wild camp?
done that well done, looking to do it again next year. camped at Malam cove, there was a meteor shower for 3 days and stayed over for another nigh
always something I wanted to do, since I was a teen, 40 years later never made it, life got n the way.
