As a Canadian and outdoorsy guy, I'll just say, the three biggest threats in terms of animals are Polar Bears, Grizzly Bears and Bull Moose during the rut. Polars and Grizzlies are only in very limited parts of the country. Where I live we have black bears, cougars, wolves, coyotes etc... but only the bull moose makes me nervous when I encounter wildlife. I've had 7 or 8 bear encounters and all ended with the bear leaving the area without showing aggression. :)
I find it delightful how your deep appreciation and beauty of the outdoors shines through in your smile and expressions. It looks like your willingness to go with the flow and live in the moment paid off.
So glad that you got to experience our beautiful wilderness.
Yess so much more to see!
@@GirlOutdoorsCome to Ontario
Congratulations! We hope you come back. There's always more to enjoy here.
That is a very lovely forest area. As far as the bear spray it is always nice to take the precautions but I find that in our world today it is the humans I worry about more than the wildlife. I sure hope you were able to enjoy as much as you could Canada has experienced so many fires this year.
Completely agree with you! All the best :)
Bear spray works on dangerous humans too.
@@larrylebowski8386 I carry other protection for the humans.
Oh great..another one of those "it's the humans I'm worried about" smh
@@damage6836 yep but I'm a 5th degree black belt and I carry protection so I think I can handle the crazy humans that might bother me.
Welcome to Canada!! What a fantastic trip. Glad you’re making the most of it - looking forward to seeing more! 🇬🇧🇨🇦
Thanks girl!! Glad you had such a wonderful time with those beautiful mountains surrounding you! You’re the best!!
Good for you for being still and soaking in the beauty and peace.😊
Another brilliant video Becky, thanks for putting it all together. The entire time you were here among bears I kept telling Jill I was so concerned for you. So glad everthing went as well as expected :)
Glad to see that you love the wilderness of Canada and appreciate it very much. When you said « the scenery is something else » I can easily say the same about Scotland. Thanks for sharing this high quality video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Take care !
One like is never enough for your content Becky. Stellar vlog as always.
Thank you so much 🙏
truly amazing Becky, these memories will stay with you for your lifetime. thank you for taking me along for this awesome ride! 🌹🌹😁😁
Thank you!
He's right about the memories. You never forget the wild places and the beauty and peace.@@GirlOutdoors
The countryside looks amazing! You are so brave Becky. Thanks for sharing. Take care! Love you ❤
with bears I read that if it's brown lay down if it's black fight back and if it white say goodnight.
That’s great 😆
not if its white.
I think what your doing is really brave I take my proverbial hat off to you.
Wow. . .so brave . . . Really enjoying this series 😊
doesnt always work though
Ohhh the best life experiences out on the trail. So fun to watch and see your adventures! Miss those days!
Hello Becky. Canada is a great place and just huge, look forward to seeing more of your trip. Bears at the tent door, it is a scary experience, been there. Saw lots of wildlife from the moment we landed. Glad you back safely in the Landy. Be safe.
dont know if its legal but where i live i carry a pistol and electric bear fence
Mt man here every thing is beautiful there u have turned out to be a very amazing woman remember everything is beautiful in its own way 👍👍
I just discovered your channel. I must tell you how impressed I am that a young lady like yourself has embarked on such a challenge! Well done & stay safe! I'm more tha twice your age and lived in Canada all my life, but have never had the nerve to rey doing what you're doing all alone. Hats off to you!!!
Canada is nature at its best!
Huge respect !..
Stunning scenery and love your commentary during your travels, thanks for sharing,Hope all goes well, have fun, stay safe 🍀❤️
Thanks so much!! Take care :)
Where you were, that used to be my stomping ground. Grew up in Alberta, between the Prairie and the Rockies.
I'm in BC now, but I miss Alberta so much, especially Kananaskis County.
I used to pack me some Chinese New Year firecrackers (those small red ones in strings) and light em up just before I am setting up my camp for the night. Gets most everything running away from me, except for the Mountain Lions. They might get curious, but they won't approach. (Unless they are _really really_ hungry, I guess...)
I envy you. And thank you for the video. I've been forgetting some of those sceneries. My heart is definitely still there.
Fantastic video Becky, really wonderful to watch - thanks so much for taking us along with you. What gorgeous scenery, I know we have some over here, but it feels to me like its character changes quite quickly as you go through it. On big land masses it has so much more space to spread out in (I know that sounds a bit silly and obvious), but you get forests and mountains that seem like they go on forever - you can travel for days and they are still there. Looking forward to seeing more videos from your trip.
Hello 👋 Becky, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for sharing your Canada 🍁 camping 🏕 adventure. What a fantastic experience. You did a superb job of filming. All the best to you for your good health and safety. 🤗 🖐
Thank you for coming and enjoying the Rockies!
What's funny is everyone is afraid of the bears and cougars but it's the mooseseseses that will f*** you up
That scenary... those mountains ⛰, just awesome. Me having a binge watch of your Canada 🇨🇦 adventures tonight. Thank you for sharing this with us Becky 👍
What a lovely place you must of been so overwhelmed by the beauty of it all looking forward for more adventures from you x
That’s the thing about European bush crafters …. You don’t have to actually deal with wolves, cougars, bears, Lynx, coyotes stealing your food so you can leave it outside without much worry. I’ve had two grizzlies rush me while fishing. That’s always a good time
The beauty is unbelievable. Canmore & Banff are lovely
Beautifully filmed and presented Becky. Looking forward to the next Canadian vlogs.
Wow, this is so amazing.
Thanks Becky for the video clip.
Canada is also our goal, now it's easier for us after your positive report from the field, we simply have to show up there in nomadic style.
What a great trip, Becks! North America must be quite change with the vast tracks of wilderness and tons large wildlife.
Que lugar lindo! Acampamento legal 👏👏
Very exciting. Can't wait to see more
If you bike pack from Kelowna to Vancouver beware the TransCanada Trail, Kettle Valley route has had severe washouts. Kelowna to Princeton is ok if rough but Princeton to Coquihalla Summit is in bad shape. You can get from the summit half way down the grade but at times you are on the major motorway. If you go from Hope down Silverhope Road and Paleface Pass, it is remote, steep and rugged.
Awesome place to be, be safe and enjoy, what a journey 🙏🏻
The countryside looks amazing. You are so brave.
Sooo beautiful! Thanks for watching:)
That feeling of being watched is a real sixth sense.
Being in the Rockies can be overwhelming, they can sure make a person feel small.
WELCOME TO CANADA!!! I love to bird watch when I camp.
Beautiful country, I’m glad you enjoyed it and learnt a few things on the way. Take care, be safe 💕 Dorset, UK
Hello and thank you for sharing your journey. All the best!!
Thanks for all the content!
All's well that ends well. You have a vast reservoir of memories to draw on.
Another great video Becky!
I have said it before and I will say it again, Becky you are an old soul, your wisdom is far beyond your earthly years. Keep on doing what you love and by doing so, shining a bright light into the world.
Thanks, Becky. Love this channel so much, your amazing.
Lovely- Enjoy your time. The scenery is spectacular!
You're amazing! Keep up what you do! I am currently trying to my adventure. You going abroad and doing that is brave and heartwarming at the same time. Great content too. x
That looks really exciting
Becky you look so happy and are such a resourceful and strong sweetie. Thrilled that your got to see our beautiful and very spread-out continent...
Omg she called it the backcountry, we lost her team. So beautiful ❤️ can't wait to visit one day
Solo camping is where you find peace in solitude and reconnect with your inner self.
Wow, just saw you have 144k subs! Im one of trhe OG subs and knew you would take off so long as the content kept comiung.
I'm in Victoria BC, the Rockies are definately spectacular, almost surreal. Look forward to seeing your videos here on the coast. Maybe we dont have quite the peaks of there but its mountainous and more lush being mostly temperate rainforest and youll smell the ocean air.
Keep em coming.
Loved your video!
Fantastic stuff! Gorgeous scenery. Im very jealous!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is the first video I've watched on your channel and I must comment on how brave you are. Contemplating if I could ever do such a thing on my own and realizing that the only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves. Safe Travels.
I'm not criticizing, but there is brave and then there is foolhardy...
I remember watching some of your vids when you had just started vloging. You were so young and it did seem you'd have a lot of adventure in your future. It's great to see you now and see what an interesting young lady you've become. I've spent a lot of time out in the Rockies here in Colorado where I live. I also did a bike tour in the Banff and continental divide area so seeing the Canadian Rockies again is great. This years trip didn't end up perfect for you but just look at it like that just means you really do need to plan another.
Thank you very much Jim! Means a lot :)
Thanks Becky for sharing. Take care. X
Great views with a great host! Thanks for sharing!
Such beautiful scenery your liveing the dream 🙏
Alberta canada here,,, it's so nice to see you close to the hom3land. Great place for camping an exploration
Loved this vlog.
Very nice, looking forward to the next one. You have the best smile on TH-cam 🇺🇸
Hi Becky the scenery is beautiful very nice place 😊
You could sing a favorite song to keep the bears away. This earth has so many places we humans can go and experience the wonderfulness of it. Find out the ingredients that is in bear spray before you pay $$ for it. So Becky, do you wish to get more Base camp foods? Can do that for you if you wish. You just need to let me know. Life is wonderful when you discover it. And you have discovered how life is so wonderful. Am looking forward to watching all your Canada adventure videos. Take care Becky and have a wonderful day.
What a Trip this was,I’m sure the Disco has missed you,til next week 👍😉
Hi Becky, you will keep Safe, Keep Strong,
You are very courageous Becky, I would struggle with the possibility of bears wandering into camp at night. I'm an old timer Englishman who has hiked and camped in the US Southwest since 1989, only rattlers and Bark Scorpions to contend with, but not bears ! Love your videos, admire your spirit, keep on keeping on young lady.
A brilliant video. I wish I'd done something like that when I was able to, I'm now disabled and enjoy watching videos like yours as a reminder that I should have got out and done more when I could. I also enjoyed the book "Into The Wild" and for the record....I'd sooner put up with the bears than (some) people. Looking forward to the rest of your videos. Matt from Wales.
Happy you came Becky. As we say in Alberta and BC … what that’s only a 12 hour drive I will be right their. 😂
A very wonderful video Becky, I am glad your time in this beautiful country met or exceeded your expectations. It is a shame that the wildfires this year put a bit of a crimp into some of your plans, but that is nature and life. Looking forward to your continuing exploits.
Becky, if I might add my two cents; it is absolutely worth visiting the desert southwest of the US. California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, even Big Bend in Texas are all fantastic. And there are no grizzly bears. Of course summer can be deadly hot. Be safe!
So cool.
Great video. Can't wait for more. Stay well and be safe.
Subbed. Just because I used to go into the woods as a young man and sleep outside. Loved it.
Wow amazing video!🔥
Well done becky cant wait for the next video !
Glad you got to Canada buuuttt 1st Chris Mccandless was not an Outdoorsman or Backwoodsman he was a Neophyte, this is exactly why he died. His sister makes no bones about the fact her brother did not belong out there he was a dreamer with a long list of high risk adventures with no knowledge or background in them and it caught up with him in a horrendous way. Where he went is somewhere bush crafters should not be it literally was not a place for hobbyist. At least you knew enough to stay on established trails and camps Outdoorsman/ women , Backwoodsman/ women, Bushmen/ women and native don't they all wonder off the beaten trails. And I am kind of tired of people getting this wrong because it gets people killed backwoodsmen, Natives live off the land in the back country Outdoorsmen and Bushmen et al. Can live off the land but live in or on the edges of society using the wilds to supplement there lives regardless of tv shows there are no more mountainmen the last survivor of corporate trapping expidition companies and contracted trailblazers and scouts died in 1921. So they are long gone, most of those they call mountain men are backwoodsmen I lived that life for 4 years before my wife demanded we live closer to society or at least have a paved road within 5 miles but I still procure 40% of our food by hunting 40% is raised or grown and 20 is commercially procured I still trap and sell furs for extra money even though I do also work a full time job. That means now I am an Outdoorsman now no longer a backwoodsman. Once the kids all move out I will be moving back to my property in the back country of Alaska until I physically can't.
SO I AM CLEAR Backwoodsmen and Natives live in the back country and primarily off the land Outdoorsman have the outdoor skill to live off the land the derive a good portion of their food or money from the wild but still live in or near normal society next level down are Survivalist these people have the skill to SURVIVE BASIC outdoor scenarios. Then comes your Bushcrafters who are hobbyist and Mountainman reenactors (actual indepth experience is lacking). Then your average country Hunters, Fisherman and Wilderness Campers next to last your trail hikers these are those people that think walking 2000 miles made them experts in the outdoors because they hike an established trail in the spring and summer weather with supplies delivered and a town every couple of days so they thing they don't need to carry extra food because it's just extra weight you don't need these are the one that need rescued at the worst and most dangerous time because they just are that incompetent yes I get to say this because I am Search and Rescue. Finally you have everyone else the lay person if you will. Remember, there are no absolutes, and in the wilderness there are no experts' mother nature can and will kill even the most experienced person experience just give you better chances at survival than the average bear. Yes I seem like an a** but attributing a level of experience that isn't warranted gets people killed I was one of the searchers for Maureen Kelly the girl who disappeared on a "spirit quest" and the Media concentrated on her nudity and because of that the sheriff's dept didnt give it the appropriate level of attention and was a rescuer in the Oso Land slide among my 135 rescues
The scenery that you can't experience here in Seoul is very nice Thank you for the video And you're pretty
What a view! lovely.
Was just thinking as you said it that the scenery looked a lot like Scotland (albeit with better weather than we usually get, although it's lovely this week!)
Great video🎉
Well done Becks, you are a true globetrotter now...Loved it 👍👍👍👍🐻🐻
Thank you! Take care mate :)
14:25 as 1 door closes multiple more open just gotta be ready and enjoy every moment i realised this a few week ago, Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.
great to see someone getting all the clarity and great lessons you get while out in the sticks :) and fair play your braver than me 🐻lol
Looks like you're certainly have a great wee adventure
Take care sister ❤️
I hike in these areas I am only 50 min. drive away...yes one of the last places where natural areas thrive glad you experienced 'real' nature I am lucky to be living here a drive westward to west coast is a treat as well it is nature...nature...nature also there is bigfoot where you were...you mentioned twigs breaking and felt being watched ( I seen one at 25 yards )
Great video but you stay safe and vigilant!
God bless from Scotland.
All the best
Becky keep your bear bag and any food out of the tent all the time. The smell of food will attract bears but worse racoons who are really pesky at 2 am.
You are very brave. God bless.
Seen a bear, lynx and a bloody garter Snake in the woods next to the Rockies this week. First time I have ever seen a snake in western Alberta. Startled me more than the bears do lol.
Love your adventures and your pictures are just stunning !
That’s ace! Didn’t get to see a bear in the Rockies that time.. enjoy!!
Loving reading the comments about bears. I'd be more worried about encountering Sasquatch 🤣😜
I wish I had done more of this when I was younger. Oh well, there's always the grand-kids !
'Scotland on steroids'. Probably the best description of Canada I've ever heard 😁. I must admit I don't think I could relax if there's a chance of a bear encounter, I take my hat off to you Becks. Take care xx
Thanks so much! Hope you’re well:)
Lake Temiskaming in english = Deep Waters and is just over 700 feet deep making it the 11th deepest freshwater lake in The World. The First Hardy Boys and Nancy Frew books were ghost written just of it's near northern most shores on The Ontario side.
A couple notes about bear spray. It is brutally painful if you spray yourself, so if a bear approaches from the direction of the wind and you spray, you are going to feel it as well as the bear. If you are sleeping with the spray and use it in a tent, you are probably going to get it worse than the bear. I have had some very close encounters with grizzlies, but never had to use the spray and I am not quite sure how to use it if the bear is upwind or in confined quarters.
Sometimes we plan for a trip and think that it is the best plan ever. But when things goes out of plan and missy the trip became surprisingly more fun than we expected the the planned one.
