I want a "Light Boltblaster". Handling like a Sharpshot bow, Burst size 2-5 instead of 3-6. Favorite Boltblaster? Relentless acutally, no annoying procc and super easy to get, and doing the brittle blasting with Powershot instead of sustained burst, it can be tackked high enough to nearly kill UH Apex Fireclaws/Slaughterspine, within the 5 Burst the Power Shot Provides. If you hit some weakspots with it, it´s even is enough to kill them. For more regular use, it´s more then ok to to use 1 Reload speed coil, it does more then reload faster, Aloy readies the weapon faster from her back too. And for super endgame content: The Hybrids (Which have both, Physical and Elemental Ammo) with Elite Elemental Coils. And you aren´t good with Botblasters before you took on Apex UH Waterwings with them, no rope/chainburst allowed ;-)
If a smaller, lighter boltblaster isn't on the new weapons list for Horizon 3, I'd be shocked! That'd be an awesome addition. And yeah, totally agree with you on the Relentless. That's my favorite one. Unless of course I'm playing on UH, which I do play on! 🤣
@@chazmatazzgames You are on UH? Since when? How is it? DId you really use Spreadblast so often? I often find it troublesome, low range, wide circle even at close range, only 2 Bullets more then a regular burst and whooping 50 Stamina cost ( And Aloy has between 100-200 Stamina).
The Bolt blasters pair extremely well with freeze arrows and the tenakth vanquisher armour with the sustained burst, and the defy death valor surge you can be easily doing 300 damage when hitting a weak area.Very very good for taking down machines quickly when farming for the parts when upgrading.
@@SvenTviking Are you aware, that a Burst of Boltblaster (the 3 to 6 shots) is only 1 chance to trigger instant effect? And not 6 chances to trigger it?
such a good point! I wish I would've included that in the video 😅 pretty much anything you can do to cause some sort of distraction and give yourself some distance or a buffer is definitely going to help
Fast firing, high damage weaponry that can't be aimed well is ALWAYS best paired with inflicting Frost first! So that their armor will not hinder your damage output at all. This is pretty much the key to cheezing all the biggest, toughest machines in the game. Inflict Frost, tie them down w Ropecaster, then unload w your best Boltblaster or Warrior Bow, preferably coupled w a Valor Surge. Crit Chance Coils are also indeed usually the best choice for these weapons.
Honestly, canisters from Boltblasters are best used as ground traps. Simply fire them into the ground & use them as traps. Much easier to hit that way as they aren't swaying all over the place on a bucking machine.
No. Overdraw usually does not work with any Weapon Technique, there are only two exceptions: Triple Notch (Hunter Bow) and Double Notch (Sharpshot Bow), those can be overdrawn.
I know how powerful the Melee Followup perk can be, but I never got used to using it. I honestly hate how short the damage buff lasts for, aka only a few short seconds. You really don't have time to dilly dally when getting in a couple boosted shots with it. The short duration makes it very difficult to use imo, specially against faster, more aggressive foes. Thus I wouldn't even bother trying to use it against anything but the biggest, slowest machines.
If you're using a Boltblaster in hectic battle situations (Like this TH-camr is), then you're using them wrong! They are meant to be used when the enemy is completely immobilized, via either Tiedowns, Shock, Knockdown, etc. Anything that makes it so you aren't having to avoid the enemy. Even better if you also inflict Frost to nullify the armor plating, since this weapon can't be aimed at weak points well. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT the weapon to use against multiple smaller machines swarming you. This should be basic common sense honestly. If you're using them in such situations then you only have yourself to blame for getting killed.
Lol well to be fair, the situations in the beginning of this video are THE LAST place you want to be using Boltblasters.... Aka against bunches of small, quick foes. That is NOT the time to be whipping out the slow Boltblaster! Boltblasters are best against big, tough machines that are by themselves.

Stick the chance of instant freezing coil on it and remember to dodge away or smoke bomb to reload, fast reload coil is vital.

When you use the Sustained Burst, it doesn't benefit from Critical Hit. But does it benefit from Overdraw Damage?

Nice vid. I would add that Boltblasters are surprisingly good against human enemies (in the game!!!)...especially if you are feeling spiteful.
