Melissa absolutely slayed this movie as Sam. I loved her in the last movie too, but she really did the thing in this one. Also, I’m so glad Tara got so much more to do this time as Jenna just killed it. I loved the moments of vulnerability she displayed, like the single tear coming down her cheek when they were hiding in the bodega or her crying out “Sam!” when they were cornered by the killers. The franchise is in good hands with the Carpenters.
And Danny is probably the most underrated character! I love how they flipped the “love interest” role…usually they’re like “you have to trust me” and stuff like that, but he literally was like, “don’t trust anyone, even me,” showing that he was always looking out for Sam.
Yeah when she cried out "sam!" It was gut wrenching. Equal parts fear, calling for help, and asking what do we do. All said with one word. And then Sam encouraging her and helping her believe that they got this. The whole finale was all about trusting and helping each other. It's was wonderful to see.

Samara Weaving had my favorite line in the movie.
Ghostface: What's your favorite scary movie?

i completely agree with literally every ranking!! That being said, my favorite line from the movie is Ghostface in the opening, his delivery of: “Who gives a fuck about movies?!” Is just endlessly chilling and one of the most iconic lines of a scream opening in my op 💖💖 great video as always y’all!

The thing I loved so much about Danny was that he respected Sam and he was SMART! Regardless of how he felt about her he told her “don’t trust anyone, not even me” to make sure she kept herself safe. And when sam told him to leave before the third act he respected that and left and as a result, survived. Not only survived he came back with help! What a man.
Cue the Salt N Pepa "Whatta Man".
And when he blocked that ghostface from Sam.

This scream really helped me like her, I Stan her and we Stan her
I wasn't a fan of hers in Scream 5 - I found her acting to be horrible - but I gotta say, she DEF. took some extra acting classes because she was fucking great in Scream 6! Her acting has really improved and I absolutely loved Sam this time around. She did that! ♥

I thought that Ethan was kinda cute and I was prepared for him to be axed early on because we can't have nice things. So you can imagine my surprise when he pulled the Ghostface mask off. JAW DROPPED
I wish Anika had more to do. The actress gave the ladder scene her all, but the character and their relationship needed some time to develop.
ITA! I wanted to see more of her. They really should have developed her character better, as well as her relationship with Mindy as you mentioned.
Yess but it would’ve hurt more to see her die in 7 since she’s alr a fan favorite or just could be absent in the movie if she survived

Neve Campbell also has the fire eyes, which is why Jenna is so GOOD in this role!! First time hearing about Jenna was Scream 5. PERFECT CHOICE for the franchise
so true, really felt like anika's death was mean/cruel. she was gutted and then after saying "i don't wanna die" got thrown off the ladder only to have her head smashed into the corner of a dumpster. it was a lot :/
Now that death was absolutely cruel and heartbreaking! Man, I felt so bad for her. And she seemed so sweet, too 😔

I was shocked, was expecting a mild fall like Cici's and Tyson's deaths, not half of her face and neck exposing her bones and being all deformed, I was pleasantly surprised.

I have a feeling that we'll be talking about the ladder scene for years to come. It was anxiety ridden once Anika got on the ladder... when she fell it was so sad but the dumpster bounce before she hit the ground? I swear the whole theater in unison went... "OOOOOHHHH!" 😱😱😂😂
Melissa Barrera is getting so much praise from fans and critics . She did so so so so well. Like wow amazing woman
Annika was amazing, also one of the best kills on the franchise
At this point Sam and Tara are a singular unit that can't be separated. End of discussion. From now to the end of time these two charcters have to be together. Jenna and Melissa have such great chemestry with each other and that translates to the characters so well. I hope they survive the franchise and pop up 10 years from now to throw down again as the new legacies.
As for Melissa, she shut down the hate real quick with Scream 6. I never quite understood the animosity myself because I liked her in Scream 5 she maybe wasn't on the same level of Jenna in terms of delivery (few are) but she was still very good. I think a big portion of the hate train came from Sidney stans just not wanting to accept a new final girl or girls in this case and were hyper critical, but here we are. Sidney was nowhere to be seen in Scream 6 and I'd argue it helped the movie by allowing our new heroines to shine. Haters, you can sit down now.
Jenna was kinda immune to any hate because good lawwd that opening scene in 5 was lightning in a bottle. How could you not fall in love with her character after that she was almost too good making it hard for others to keep up with her. And Jenna is so likable and relatable IRL people couldn't help but fall for her and accept that Tara is a final girl.
I'm glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed Ethan as Ghostface! I think as time goes on people will start appreciating his character a bit more.
Oh My KIRBY!!! This was sooo good! I had the killer down but then second guessed myself until the end!! This is definitely my new FAVORITE!! And my favorite line from Kirby “I saw that in a scary movie once!!” Iconic 🎉❤

i predicted the killer being related to either richie or amber based on the fact that scream 1 and 5 were so similar. i expected the 6th movie to have parallels to the 2nd movie and this one was way to obvious.
Glad to hear you liked Ethan and Jack’s performance! Jack Champion has been getting a lot of hate online for this movie and it’s really sad
To be honest, I thought during the whole movie that we were being set up for Tara to die. With that whole "Let me go" thing. But I'm so glad she survived. 🙌
Sam just become my favorite from the C4 👑....and don't get me start on Gale and Kirby. Proof that you don't need many scenes to SLAY!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My fear now is that in Scream 7 we'll have a lot of deads from our survivors 😰
PS: (The directors KNEW EXACTLY who this movie was for. I mean... those scenes with Chad and Daddy...I mean Danny 😈)
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Mindy kick some ass in Scream 7. My favorite line came from her, she said something like "...killers with Letterbox accounts instead of personalities. " I loved the scene with Mindy and Kirby, I look forward to seeing more of them be horror movie besties.
Loving the tier ranking video, in Scream 7 I would love to see Danny fight Ghostface with Sam. And also America Olivo should play Sam and Tara`s mom.
Why am I just realizing that Dermot Mulroney played the dad in Insidious 3 and his daughter in that movie was named Quinn also 🤯
Thank youu cause I totally agree with Ethan’s choice ! In certain parts his eyes give off the psycho vibe. Like on the train where he’s waving at mindy you see the dark look on his face cause he knows what’s gonna happen and they been trying to get rid of Mindy cause she “knew too much” being the horror movie know it all. So I’m really proud of Jack for bringing that out!
Scream 7 NEEDS an all woman vs ghostface showdown. Sid, Sam, Tara, Gale, Kirby, and Mindy vs the 2 or 3 ghostfaces is my dream for the franchise now.

I loved this movie but the killers were SO obvious
I clocked the cop and the girl the moment they started talking about a dead relative, especially when the cop looked right into their eyes and said “any one who hurts my family will pay” the scene after the killer said they’d pay for what happened to Richie
I didn’t get the boy but that’s because Twitter clocked him the moment the cast was announced and I felt bad for thinking he was weird

This was so entertaining. And the thoughts and commentary on the characters was hella on point. Can't believe I just now found yall. 🤙🏼
1. Best opener in the scream franchise thus far!
2. The "Sam" Actress has made me a believer on this one better than the 5th.
3. They did a great job adding new elements that the series lacked.
4. I need more Chad and Tara relationship.

ok now that I’ve watched most of the way through, I agree with so many of your takes lol, especially the ghostfaces. once we entered act 3, I had daddy kirsch and ethan narrowed down and once we got to the reveal scene, I started suspecting Quinn cuz if her dad’s ghostface, it would take a very specific storyline for her death to be real and make sense and I didnt see them going that route. Though these are probably my least favorite ghostfaces as far as reveal, act 3 was AMAZING and all of the moments (dual ghostface attack, synced ghostface knife swipe, tara stabbing ethan, Sam in the costume) are just so iconic. Also I met Liana Liberato (Quinn) at a book event as a teenager cuz she was about to premiere in If I Stay, a book adaptation, and I love that I inadvertently met and spoke to a ghostface almost 10 years ago lol.
As soon as I saw Samara was in this movie, I had a feeling she’d be the opening kill…and I was right 👏🏻.
Also, Kirby Reed supremacy 🙏🏻.
Whenever I came across Sam-Anti's I was always grossed out. I loved her in S5, and she's def gotten more development in this one she's so fierce. Tbh tho seeing Chad get stabbed multiple times in the chest region and survive 🙄 I'm sorry but that's one flaw in this movie Im not pleased with (ppl getting stabbed in the stomach, etc and it's like a flesh wound) but this was the only scream movie I was terrified, gagged, and literally shaking it is my fav sequel rn

I don't know how I felt about Scream VI, no one important died, felt like there were no real stakes. I did love the New York setting. Three ghost faces was pretty cool too, and family that slays together stays together. Chad and Tara is cute, I was sad about Mindy's gf, she was adorable. And I love how supportive cute next door neighbor guy was for Sam, hope we see him in the next one.
My favorite line is before the title card and ghostface says, “who gives a fuck about movies!”. I was like woah… that set the tone for me.
I absolutely live for your Sam stannings! I too have loved her since day one and it's so great to see the rest finally see how iconic she is.
Its crazy seeing all the killers have the knives on the right plus the 2 final girls. Idk if that means anything, but its cool to notice that now after the movie.

Not the biggest fan of the Scream franchise, but really liked Scream VI. Glad Gale got a bigger part and who doesn't love Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed.. She's truly iconic!
I wish there was a little more love for the Halloween franchise. You guys screamed your lungs out while reacting to the Halloween trilogy trailers but there's no reactions to the said movies. There's only one true slasher and that's the granddaddy of them all - Halloween and Michael Myers! Have a great day you guys! ✌🏼

Im also with u. A Melissa/Sam defender since scream 22. Beside Melissa being a kind and genuinely nice person she is so dedicated on her role. It sucks seeing those hateful comments against her back when scream 5 finished premiering all those hate comments from those trolls. FINALLY, SHE PROVED THE HATERS WRONG!
l loved Quinn as Ghostface. She was the perfect crazy. Tara & Chad are SOO CUUTTTEEE.

I loved all the characters in Scream 6 although I don't know the new characters names as I just watched it once.

Within the Core 4 , Mindy is my favorite.. BUT I wish they’d expand her beyond the “Randy” umbrella and let MINDY flourish.
In the next film I want them to bring her more in the forefront , elevate her knowledge (not only within horror but in general) I want to see her take charge and actually FIGHT back . in the next film I NEED for Mindy to kill at least ONE ghostface . I wanna see her toughen up.

I’m so happy for Melissa Barrera here. I knew she could act but she wasn’t my fave in 5. So happy we know her character more in 6 and she let go and fully embraced Sam. Sam and Tara will be the first final girls who have no qualms about killing the enemies. I can’t wait to see what 7 holds for us.

Yassss absolutely hated Charlie too! Lame incel stooge doesn't deserve such a high bodycount. Almost all of the killers that have little to do with Sidney are the weakest in terms of characterization imo
