The moms scream after seeing Casey hanging from the tree sends immense shivers down my spine. She’s the real scream queen. Oh it was so gut wrenching.😩😩

It's funny you talked about the two killers being together because Matthew Lillard said he intentionally played Stu as if Stu was in love with Billy despite it not being in the script. I believe I saw that in an interview somewhere
CassidyNK: I really need to find where this idea comes from because different people say this idea of Billy and Stu being lovers or Stu having a crush on Billy keeps being attributed to different people via different media. First it was the writer, then Wes Craven, then Matthew Lillard, then someone else.
The idea of Lillard playing it that way is a repeat of Ben Hur (I Think it was Ben Hur), when one of the characters was told to play it as though he was in love with one of the gladiators while the other actor had no idea that's what was going on.
Of course, I could be Very wrong.
I just don't see it as though they're in love. It's been said by a lot of fans that the story from Scream 2 is that Billy was guided by Roman; and Roman told Billy to pick a patsy that he could set up to take the fall.
So, he took Stu into his confidence about the murder plot. But, not the real reason he was doing all this.
According to several fan posts, Billy's plan was to kill Stu and be the sole survivor

@@LA_HA That may be Billy's reasoning. But i think Stu's being a crush on Billy to be very believable. Stu doesn't really have a motive. That provides one.

I am familiar with the psychology of "pair murderers". Usually it is a leader and a follower.
I just see something more than that in this instance. Many people do.
It is the whole inspiration for the character of "Ray" ( Shawn Wayans ) in "Scary Movie" , for exaple.
What even more horrible about Tatum’s death- she actually screams “No, Mom!” Rose added that in to humanize her more. It just gets me every time 😢
Rose McGowan said that her voice is not really good for actually screaming and thought that Tatum calling out for her mother would be more heartbreaking

I think the reason Stu was acting so confident was because he felt steady and not lost anymore when he had someone to depend on and the plan was working and it made Stu feel powerful and needed.

Born in 86 saw it in 96 and has forever been my favorite horror film of all time. This coming from a huge fan of 80s horror like Re-animator and In the mouth of madness. Of course Michael,Jason,Freddy and Leatherface Thanks for giving us this reaction luvs!

scream was one of the first horror films i ever recall watching, and I was still a kid back then, certainly had me terrified when i tried to sleep, fearing ghostface would appear in my room, Casey's death is just so graphic, especially that shot of her when her parents find her, i always wonder what might have happened if her parents had found her in time, could she have survived her injuries
The movie, as a whole, is even more heartbreaking when you learn that the murders were inspired by real life murders. Gainesville, Florida. The Gainesville Ripper. Murdered five students over four days. Kevin Williamson is really damn good writer.
The Randy thing....if you listen to Sidney talk to "Randy" aka The Killer in the first phone call she is rather flirtatious and even says his voice is "sexy" and honestly Tatum also kind of flirts with "Randy" when she is in the garage asking if she can be the helpless victim. But seriously listen to the way Neve says "Bye now." when she is on the front porch thinking Randy is playing around on the phone.
It's so funny how much Wes hates Billy in this. It's nice to see instead of people thirsting over him constantly.
One of my first crushes should have been a psycho killer in a horror film, but it was. Billy and Stu had me by the throat
I was 16 when this came out and I can't tell you how mind blowing it was to see this in the movies. Also halfway into the movie the power went out for a sew minutes and scared me and my friends out of our minds.

@@keeleygrace_ Sure. But, that's what happened with every Scream movie. Sarah Michelle Gellar was Buffy The freaking Vampire Slayer. There was Nobody more popular than her, and she did a good job as Cici. Yet, I'd say the same about her role in Scream 2.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a long time fan of Drew Barrymore and she did a Great job in that role. I love her in that role. Her idea to be The Diversion was a stroke of genius and that's the only reason I'm glad it was her and Not someone else.
However, acting wise, my point stands, because while she's memorable, if they'd gotten, say, Sarah Michelle Gellar for That role instead of for Scream 2, Gellar would've been well remembered for that intro as well.
That's all I'm saying. I'm not putting down either actress at all. This franchise is in my Top 3 for a reason

I've been a hardcore Drew stan since I was a kid and I wasn't allowed to watch horror until I got into my late teens. The first time I saw Scream (early 20s).... when I tell you how mortified I was at that opening scene!!!! I was in shock lol.
Now I'm a big horror & film fan and a Scream groupie for sure and to this day, that scene is hard for me to sit through but I never skip past it, I just look away from the screen near the end and wait for it to end lmao I can't deal w miss Drew getting murked like that girl
My second favorite horror franchise of all time. I watch all of them repeatedly. Already saw 6 .can't wait till it comes out on DVD so I can buy it and watch all 6 together at the same time.

Scream (1996) has aged brilliantly and it will continue to do so. It's a ground breaker in horror especially for mid 90s American time. Ghostface is a simple outfit with a mask, but it's very scary with a knife. The pace of the film is great and the audience had no clue who the killer's were right until the end.
Wes Craven made a masterpiece in horror films.
I used to watch the heck out of scream and scream 2 back in the day. I loved seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2 because I was a huge Buffy fan❤

I met Matthew, skeet and Jamie at big Texas Comicon. Matthew was the coolest, and had the longest line. They were all great, but Matthew was on a whole other level you could just tell he loved being there.
I kid you not this movie scared the s$%t out of me when i first saw this! 😂 i loved SCReAM 6 because it was awwwesssommme! I absolutely love GHOSTFACE now but back then he scared the crap out of me. Watching your guys' reaction is so much more fun. Drew Barrymore is epic and campy in this opening scene. ❤😂😊

I saw in another reaction, when Sid says “omg” to Billy in the bedroom before he gets “stabbed”, that was interpreted as her realizing that it could’ve been Billy and the similarities in their appearance and possibly those red flags clicking in place.

Here's what I don't understand, Sidney does not know that there are two killers at this point. But she witnessed "the killer" coming up behind Randy, and then killing Kenny. So why does she lock randy out of the house with Stew?

Because both were blaming each other and she didn’t know who she could trust.
But at this point in the movie Sidney is unaware that their are two killers! If she believed that ghost face was a single killer, and she saw him behind randy on the screen, why lock randy out? Even if she had thought the person standing behind the sofa was one of the party guests playing a prank, the fact that they then kill Kenny would let her know it was the real deal! Do you see where I'm going with this?

I saw this in 1996 when it came out. I was only 8 but I’d seen horror movies before and loved them so she watched it first and decided it was nothing I couldn’t handle.

Scream 1 is my favourite movie.
Stu Macher is why. The whole Casey Becker incident that sparks the action of Scream is all Stu. Casey was an ex. The boyfriend being murdered in front of her was all to scare Casey more because Stu was jealous and has poor coping skills... and also has a psychosexual relationship with his best friend/co-serial killer. Just a lot of big ugly feelings with no good outlets.
