    I was able to do this for my first pregnancy and was able to get 20 days worth of meals. I was proud of myself. Love your list. I also made turkey burgers, meatballs, chili and lasagna. They froze really well.

    I'm currently 2 weeks postpartum with baby #4, and we just finished our last prepped freezer meal tonight. I'm so, so glad I prepped stuff ahead of time! Our son has been cluster feeding a lot, off and on, and it's been so nice to have nutritious hot food to eat while nursing.
    I'm gonna do another round tomorrow when my husband is off work. Thank you for sharing your ideas!!

    I hear you!! I have a really hard time standing and cooking when I’m pregnant. My legs would ache so bad! I think that’s a great approach to postpartum. Be sure to at least make some nourishing bone broth to sip on. I’d freeze in pint jars for a daily serving size.
    Getting so close!

    I just came across your channel. You are a power house! I remember how those days were getting prepped for a new baby coming. I would just double up when I cooked a meal...then just froze the extra meal. It kept it easier that way. You seem like such a neat person. So glad I found your channel. I am past baby days, and days of little kids, but I still get a kick out of these videos. They bring back so many memories.

    Instacart is going to be my go-to as well for the fresh produce. We're on a budget, but my recovery is totally worth it to the healthy of my family. We plan all pregnancy so that I can have my 40 day recuperation - YAY. I don't plan to cook at all during that time, just the Meal Train from my amazing Catholic mom's group and the freezer meals I prepare!!! I can't wait to snuggle my baby!!

      How do you plan for a 40 day recovery? Is your husband home that long ?

    • @tpangle17
      @tpangle17 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@kaitlync15 - It's definitely strategic. From even before we conceive, we are looking at his vacation days and making sure he'll have a big chunk by then (he usually saves them up between babies too - this is our baby #6). He works for a non-profit, so we're on a budget and certainly can't afford childcare. We plan for 2 dedicated weeks (10 work days) at home, then again, from the time we tell family, we're lining up help on a schedule. With 5 little kids, I need the most help at 2-4 weeks, when my husband goes back to work. My husband can manage some of him responsibilities from home too, which helps him not be totally absent from the picture for 2 weeks and if we have rough days or emergencies, he can come home for a morning or afternoon . Our requests from his job over the last years have been more family -oriented and less desire for salary increase, so flexibility with workplace and hours have been more important than even a financial increase. We have a mom's group that actively runs a meal train for each mom. Sometimes, it can cover around 2 months of every-other day meals. I usually ask for daily meals around 2 weeks, so that, again, when my husband goes back out of the house, I'm not cooking. I usually make freezer meals to help with the later weeks 3-6, so that, again, I'm not cooking at all. This time I'm going to ask some friends for play-dates for some of my kids (one or two at a time) after he goes back to work too. We pause homeschooling during that time, unless it helps the kids have something to do while I rest. Honestly, we spend a large chunk of our pregnancy problem solving issues in our house and routine, and preparing for my postpartum period. I write down everyone who says "let me know if I can help" and I brainstorm a way to ask them for help during that time. I've had YEARS of Postpartum Depression. Both my husband and I (and our children) value my recovery. :)

      @@tpangle17 wow your reply about how you do PP recovery is amazing. I'm sure in June with my first. Never thought about actually writing down ppl who say, "let me know if I can help" and then actually allowing them to help. I have a hard time asking & accepting help, even when it's offered. I might try this. Thank you

    You did an amazing job Tabitha! You are so organized. I watched this video a couple of days ago and have been thinking about it. This is not a criticism. Did you really leave the finished containers on your counter all day? You said that you started at 2 o’clock and finished at 9 o’clock. I’m just concerned that it was too long for that cooked food to be sitting out all day. Maybe it was just for video purposes and you refrigerated it during the filming.
