@@danamann2604also, if you don’t have the motivation/energy to keep cooking after that (which I can understand after 2 hours), you can just do the same 1-2 weeks later, and you’ll still be in time to turn out with more than you had after the first session. So good. I’m still busy finding more recipes to have some more variation but this is so good for me. Both for my health, and my money.

I don’t freeze prep much because I prefer taste fresh and we don’t have a lot of space, but I love watching your videos! And I can tell the difference with peppers. Green and to me yellow don’t taste like any so I have to cook them, red is the best flavor especially eating raw with dips
I am a vegetarian but I love watching your videos regardless of the ingredients bc faux meat (impossible or beyond brands are my fave) will swap 1:1 in almost every instance! I get sooo many ideas; I’m putting soyrizo on my shopping list today! Thank you!

Great video, I don't mass meal prep like this but I do meal prep. I cook once a week and then freeze all (or all but one serving) of my left overs! It is very helpful.
I also wanted to call out using Deli Containers instead of bags as a re-usable option. 1 pint size deli container is about 1 meal for the typical adult. They may take up a little bit more room than bags due to their shape, but theyre re-usable and cheap!
Thanks so much! There are many ways to do meal prep and whatever works is great. I agree, deli containers are a great option for individual meals. We have some that are freezer safe and microwave safe, which is great to have. ☺️

You sure can taste the difference between the colors of peppers. Even my dog's taste the difference. They go crazy for red, kind of like orange, occasionally they'll tolerate yellow and they absolutely will not touch green. Incidently, the rest of our family agree with them.

Ok I’m guilty of the door dash…just two weeks a friend of mine were busy with Christmas fudge and cookies cooking and baking like crazy people lol. We ordered door dash. 48.00 later we had dinner! I used quart bags and froze my last batch of turkey pot pie and turkey noodle soup to save room in my freezer
I agree I can taste the difference in peppers... the green ones are bitter to me. Only red, orange or yellow peppers in my house.
Sharla needs to do a blind pepper taste test for us! Like the old cola commercials!
I make homemade sloppy joes. I noticed it was a bit too sweet when I was first making it. One time I was out of brown sugar and used white instead. Less sweet and been making it that way ever since. Others may notice this too.
Isn't that great that we can adapt things to our liking - especially after a happy accident like that!?

1 month of meals for $100, my first thought was man this must be a video from 10 years ago 😆I have very little freezer space but I like the idea of this. I am going to try it and leave out the pasta or grain and just cook that the day of because it cooks really quick in my instant pot, and mix in the thawed sauced meat/veg preps in the last few minutes of cooking. thanks :)
If you're really diligent about finding sales, it can be done! We hear from people all the time that they are now able to eat better, with more variety because of making freezer meals. They are sometimes on fixed incomes and didn't feel like they had a lot of options, but now with a bit of planning, they can have a much more balanced diet. i need the full recipe for the spanish rice
We've got it close to perfected but are still working on it (we're actually doing a slightly tweaked version in our upcoming mega session) so I don't have it ready quite yet...

How do cook the frozen meatballs
You can heat them in a small stovetop pot or skillet over medium-low until warmed through or in the microwave.
How do you reheat the freezer meal...can u explain that too
Most of the meals can just be reheated in the microwave. Allow them to thaw and then heat them up for 2-3 minutes.
Think of a plate and literally draw a plate at draw 3 to 4 lines then add what you want to eat. Use the food pyramid it makes it easier and funnier!!!😊I hope this helps.

No such thing as a silly question! You can heat them in a small stovetop pot on medium-low or in the microwave.

Question.... where do you buy your gnocchi? I'm in BC, have looked at several stores in the cooler sections... at a loss. However, it is 4 for 20 this week... didn't get the extra 15% off but hey... I am stocked.
We get it at Save-On (I think they're called Overwaitea in B.C.) or Sobeys. It's with the fresh pasta (like the refrigerated ravioli). Yay 4 for 20!

When my kids were young, I shopped there all the time!!! 11 at night 🤣 was my break. Now I am an in and out person. Rarely go to more than one store.
I noticed you say the ingredients are cooked so it just needs reheating, but the onion doesn't look cooked before putting in the bag. Are you cooking the onion ahead of time?
No. We find that the raw onion cooks enough for our tastes when reheating. You can always mince them smaller if you want them to be softer on cooking.

hi... When we buy protein, like frozen chicken, and then we add sauce, spice etc, and we freeze again? is it good? when I prepare my baby food, the freeze food cannot be refreeze again if already thawed (in this case, is thaw and seasoned) . CMIIW
There are two "safe" ways to go about doing freezer cooking if you're going to be using frozen meat. One is to just quickly add your sauce, seasonings, and other ingredients and get it back in the freezer so that it has stayed frozen and the other is to cook it in between such as taking frozen chicken, cooking it, and adding the cooked (cubed or shredded) chicken into recipes and then freezing or browning previously frozen ground beef and adding it into recipes.

@@kazzie72mcdyou can substitute coconut aminos for soy sauce in recipes. We have been doing it for several years. My husband hates coconut, so he only learned what I’ve been using last year, once I knew he wouldn’t freak out. 😂

Hahaha I am sure it's good, I just can't do it, or my ancestors would curse me 😂 but with some chicken it would be really good! By the way, about freezing rice, when I tried in the past it turns out smashy when reheating it, it's so gross. Should I freeze it with no sauce and making sure that it has no remaining water? Or are there other tips to avoid this?
We've never had problems freezing rice, and other people say it gets mushy for them. Maybe it depends on the kind? We use long grain or sometimes minute rice (shhhhh! don't tell anyone) and honestly the minute rice holds up better. haha I think Basmati or Jasmine rice would be a bit too tender. Keep trying! Or plan the rice for the day of cooking. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

Chose one protein, 2vegetables, and one fruit. Drink water when eating dinner so you don't get full faster or have gas on your tummy making you fill bloated and tired.
I can totally taste the difference in the peppers. Green peppers are my least favorite.

Nope! We have quite a few videos on single serving freezer meals but only one other one of freezer meals for 2 people and that one was filmed about a year before the white kitchen! We will for sure be creating more videos on meals for two though as so many people need it.
