Stang Mode; Thanks for your honesty on mods . I talked to a Ford Performance Engineer on the benefits of long tube headers . His response was the headers will only give your Mustang 10 more HP at wide open throttle . He said the sound will be louder but the factory exhaust is a great flowing exhaust . So is 10 more HP worth say $1700 ? I really don't see how . Thanks again for your video. BULLITT K0040
I can honestly respect that oh, I am a little surprised no offense but I can honestly respect that. I catch a lot of heat on this channel but I love your car. I'm actually just a car geek that's all
I agree with what you’re saying because I learned that lesson the hard way. It wasn’t Mustangs, but the situation is the same. It is SO easy to keep modding, and modding, before realizing that you’ve ruined your ride for street driving. And it REALLY sucks if you’re still making payments!
This is why I’m happy mine is an automatic. It has paddle shifters which make it fun, but I’d lose my mind driving that car in DFW if I had a clutch. Instead it’s +800 HP monster that I drive everyday.
i just lowered my 2019 mustang gt with eibach sportlines, and i can take turns twice as fast and freeway entrance loops at like 50mph. it handles INSANELY better with springs just wanted to put that out there
I think you’re completely correct here. I’ve went and done these modifications and wish I hadn’t for various reasons. I’ve actually reversed mods on the principles you mention here. At some point you start losing what made you love the car in the first place. I’ve done this so many times, I’m glad you touched on this in this video. Thank you sir.
Have a v6 for 6 years and got 20s like last week and just seen this video I been thinkin they drive like shit compared to my 18s but they do look better
Thanks for the insights man. We tend to get carried away with mods, as it's just fun to do. But it's really nice to hear the cons side. Hardly anyone makes a mod and then discourages you from doing the same. Stock doesn't always suck. Sometimes it's pretty damn good!
I love that Ford looked at all the mods we made before and make it look closer to that straight out of the factory. I love the new Mustangs and I can’t wait to get one next year. For now I’ll keep on rocking my New Edge sixxer.
I agree on the 20's. I went with 19x10's for a square stance. I like the sound of long tube headers though, especially Kooks. If I were buying a 18 or 19, I would get the magneride and just do the GT350 lowering springs.
I disagree with the headers being no go. I installed them on mine and I love the way the coyote sounds with them. They were a little pricy and the install was a pain but I’d definitely do it again.
My 18 Mustang GT is my daily. The only mods I have done are Barton Hybrid shifter, Raceseng Weighted Shift knob, Ford Performance X-Pipe (I live in California lol) and Steeda Lowering Springs. I think for the most part I am done. The lowering springs have really helped. Especially, for people that didn’t get magneride. From factory, the ride was too floaty. Sometimes, I would get this weird noticeable hop. Once, I went with the lowering springs, don’t really feel that any more. I think it depends on the wheels regarding 19s or 20s. I recently upgraded my tires and got 20s. Combine that with the lowering springs. The car handles better. Maybe it is a tad harsh. But hardly noticeable in my opinion.
Kurt F Man, it is so much better. I would experience the lockout on 3rd gear at least once, twice a week. With the weighted shift knob and Barton hybrid shifter. Shifting is soooo much better. I don’t rev to red line often. If I do, I usually take a breath then shift lol. Haven’t experienced lock out. But that being said, Yolo the Douche Bag, had mentioned that factory clutch is ass and contribute to the lockout. (I think it was something like that.)
The Stock headers are great on a stock car. But when you start moving more air into the engine with other mods, you need to move more out. If you plan on staying na or supercharging, they will quickly become a choke point.
Stang Mode. I am 66 years old I own the 112th 2013 gt500 Super Snake. I have had a litiany of cars. I built most of the early ones and then started buying them already built. To pass along a little knowledge my father the lifetime mechanic gave to me, is that the corporations spend billions on the design of the chassis, suspension and engines. So you think that you can make it run better with a few bucks here and there. Gregg, new subscriber
Agree For suspension; BMR, Steeda, Ford Performance, etc. have kits that take out the guess work for the streets. Hell, the Ford Performance Track Pack is quiet, significantly improved handling, is very affordable and still quite comfortable. God Bless
I agree with most of your list. I did the full suspension routine on my 2014 (Ford Racing Adjustable). Yes it looked better an inch lower but I couldn't drive into half the parking lots around because I'd scrap the chin spoiler. I also ended up with clunks in the back every time i hit a bigger dip in the road and in Pa there are a lot of holes and patches. All this for $2,500 that I never got back at trade-in time. When I got my 2018 I put the money into factory options such as Magniride and tunable exhaust and have left the car pretty much unmolested. The only things I put on it were jacking rails and a passenger side catch can and I'm happy with it with the exception on the black rims. Given time I'll probably replace them. A big reason people put 20s on is because most 19s don't clear the Brembo brake calipers - Shelbys do and that's probably the direction I'll go in.
Zander got those headers in like it was a walk in the park... I give him a lot of credit.... I thought those headers we're good for 40 hp. As long as they don't rattle I guess.
the20minute gamer cuz I was there for the 14 hour install and helped and I can Install anything if I had the tools and time so you stop 🛑 with ur nonsense
@@Chris10323 it's his car and it's his channel he can certainly comment about anything he feels like... He's waiting for the dragstrip to open like everybody else so don't give him any bullshit.
Completely agree with you on everything. I have a 18 Mustang GT Premie, perf pkg3, active exhaust, magna ride, active wing and track apps and believe it’s a great set up from the factory. The only mod I did was through the dealer to secure the warranty and that was the Roush performance pk 1 which is the cold air intake kit and flash tune. It made a notable difference. I occasionally drive it on track days and enjoy the easy track set up for performance and handling using a couple of switches. It’s a beautiful handling beast with everything I want on road or track.
Did all my mods by me just me. The steeda stop hop kit.installed properly nothing, no nvh, no whine. Perfect since my long tubes drown out any road noise if there was any to complain about. Driveshaft is essential in losing rotation mass and launching hard, just ask the many that broke em to pieces, and lived to tell about it blasting into the drivers compartment. Love the channel and the car and your personality. Just another angle from another 18 perf pack owner with those mods as described. There worth every penny for my taste and driving.. cheers!
Nice video, StangMode. I completely agree with you regarding the 2018/2019 Mustang, especially if it's a daily driver. I had an over-modded 5.0 Mustang that unfortunately became such a problem to drive on the street, I had to sell it. And living here in California one has to be careful about street mods anyway.
I must say, this video I agree with. Headers unless boosted,. suspension, s197 for the win just add struts and shocks plus control arms. One piece driveshaft for the win. Nothing rides better and hooks better than drag wheel set up! Plus cheaper performance tires. But this is the joy of mustang ownership, huge aftermarket plus reasonably priced parts. Happy modding!
I do like the look of my 20 inch rims in the summer , but when I put on my 18 inch all season tires in winter it does feel like a totally different car driving so smooth.
I agree with everything except the 20s. Mine came with 20s from the factory and they ride fine. If it was lowered with stiffer springs then the ride would suffer. I agree, header's are a total waste unless your racing all the time. 👍🏼 Good video
I have a great deal more confidence driving in a very spirited fashion on my favourite or any mountain roads with my Shockwerks coil-overs (body roll effectively eliminated) and 20 inch rims (better grip and handling with 275/305 tires)) that the benefits and pleasure received far outway putting up with any downside. Besides that, the black/machined Steeda wheels fitted to my 2018 are very unique in Australia and are an eye/head turner and I regularly get comments on how sexy the car looks - sometimes the 'wow' factor destroys the down side of a mod, and particularly, if the downside is quite liveable and not such a downside even for every day driving.
I recently bought my all black 2018 GT with all the usual mods already done. Full corsa exhaust, cold air intake, lowered on Eibachs, staggered 20" MMD wheels all around, louvers, tint, etc. I have no complaints but the ride is a bit harsh on 20" rims and lowered. I never drove a stock one so I can't compare, however, even though the ride is harsh the handling is unbelievable. Corners like it's on rails with little to no sway and it looks badass. So it's a tradeoff I guess. I love this damn car. The exhaust note through the corsa exhaust is unbelievable. Perfect actually
I plan on daily driving my 21 GT so I’m just doing x-pipe, axle-back exhaust with muffler delete, cold air intake and eibach lowering springs and calling it a day. Cheers from the Bay Area!
I changed the rear license plate trim on my '19. Everything else about it works great. Can't imagine lowering it. Crests hills in the country just fine. Don't want a rough ride or to be scraping the bottom off the car. Mine came stock with 20" rims. I have no issue with the ride or handling and they are sexy AF. Guess I'll have to get a test drive in one with 19" to see if I can tell the difference.
I totally agree! Coming from owner of a 15' GT with a borla cat-back exhaust , 19 inch gt350 style wheels/nitto NT05's,passenger side catch can, clutch pedal extender (cause i'm short)and window tint ! And that's it ! Completely happy with it . Owned since new. I'm not a fan of lowering springs because there are no roads that flat and smooth here in Indy except the track.
Agree with most of this; the catch can is the only one that is a maybe not...depends is what I think the answer is, but another larger issue. Drivability for daily driving is a major factor.
You're on point if you want a comfortable daily, but if you're looking for big power, the ground work you have done to Black Manba is what you do. Once you boost it, you better get a catch can system with check valves so you dont blow oil out various gaskets. Been there done that.
Everything you brought up as far as not needed 💯%. You hit every single one perfectly and explained why well. I have a 2017 GT PP. 19” rims perfect, headers expensive and in CA not legal and a hassle, driver side catch is illegal in CA but not needed. Bushing just make the ride harsh and tend to break other parts and the drive shaft only needed for more power just like you said. Good list bro
I agree with headers. I've had them on other cars. My 17 is my first Ford. It's fine if it's your weekend car. Exhausts are money pits. I have a Corsa sport system. Sounds great but I know it didn't add any power. These cars make crazy power with boost and stock exhaust.
I have 20s on my super snake and they look awesome and drive perfectly fine. Catch cans work, mine captures lots of blow by, I empty it once a month. These are my only disagreements with you.
I never forget what I read on the back cover of a 1998 issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine. WE PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE POSSE OF THE UNITED STANGS OF AMERICA AND THE PERFORMANCE FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE MODIFICATION AFTER ANOTHER TILL WE BLOW THE DOORS OFF THEM ALL. Let the mods begin 😎
I hate my bloody swapped diff bushings, the nvh is nuts. Sounds almost like busted wheel bearings. Regarding the rims brother, with the magneride you will find it hard to notice a difference between 19 and 20".
I Whippled my 2017 Stang GT so I had to do most of these. I agree with you that I miss many of the civilities of my “brand new” stang but it is my weekend carver. I just bought my wife a 2019 Charger 392 with adjustable suspension and the 6 pot brembos and we won’t be modding it for the reasons you just mentioned. Good content here, my friend. Don’t mod unless you know beforehand what you are sacrificing that which you fell in love with in the first place. Happy Stangin!!
I bought my 2013 5.0 with all the work already done: Roush supercharged, kooks full exhaust, gears and aluminum driveshaft. Oh and 20x11 are necessary for the street
100% correct . Also , a lightweight driveshaft doesn't help 1/4 mile at all . You launch the car at optimal revs so the ability to rev up faster doesnt help . Not to mention there is less energy stored on a lighter driveshaft in a drag race.
Good advice! Don't believe the aftermarket stores videos when they say there is no increase on vibration or noise when doing bushings. They just care about selling you crap. I learned the hard way.
I’m sorry Bro, but if your N/A long tube headers are a must.. 20rwhp is a lot. Every tenth of a second equals a car length in a drag race.. 20rwhp equals 2 tenths in the quarter.. Headers, Cold Air Intake, and Tune is all you really need. Now getting a cat back exhaust is unnecessary imo..
That's exactly what he is saying though. If you're building it a for a purpose then do it. I believe he's addressing the average person with a GT that's not going to track their car. That person may do a cat back and a Cai for sound, But wouldn't feel the 20rwhp that headers give while dailying their car on the street. Cost vs return.
I listened.. If your gonna daily it just stick to appearance mods and a cat back.. My Chevy Silverado has headers, tune and CAI with 200k miles on it.. Runs fine 🤷♂️
@@sstevocamaro yeah if I'm really being honest with myself. I really don't think I have the driving skills required to track my car. I'm also on payments, I would be crushed if I had an accident on the track. So I guess maybe it's good advice for someone like me? 2k (3k cause I'm Canadian) isn't worth it for sound and performance I'll never actually feel. I do have a cat-back, because it is cosmetic, I don't have active exhaust so I like the added volume and tone. I may do a Roush cai and tune combo as it comes with a warranty. Past that though, what else?
Tim Coleman 20rwhp is the beginning of what the butt dyno would feel imo. But that doesn’t mean it’s not making a difference. 30rwhp from a tune, 20rwhp from headers, 5rwhp from CAI, 5rwhp from catback that’s 60rwhp. With an NA car it’s about all the small mods if your going for a max effort build. Also for every 100lbs you drop that’s equivalent to 10rwhp. And for every 10* drop in temp that’s equivalent to 1hp.
It's not about adding power directly. People always get this wrong. It's about opening up the flow of the exhaust for other mods that add power like superchargers, turbos etc. You don't want unnecessary restriction to get the biggest gains with those systems. Anyone who buys LTHs because they expect power gains from them doesn't have an understanding of how a car works. If you want it louder you don't need LTHs either, but they do offer a unique sound change. For many a simple cat delete will do wonders for the sound and freeing up the flow of the exhaust system, not as much as LTH would add but still.
Very good information StangMode! I agree with the wheel size especially, since I went from 18" wheels on my '08 GT500 to 20"s and the ride is much rougher. Keep up the good work.
I've mentioned this elsewhere, but here in Australia, the 18/19 only comes pretty much fully loaded, with the only options being Magneride, Recaros, spoiler and special paint/stripes. Dealers only order in the stocker (i.e. with dash, exhaust, leather, B&O, PP etc), or they order them in with all the above-mentioned options (sometimes also omitting stripes). I'm looking at a GT with just the Magneride, so I'll have to wait a few months, but that'll be the perfect setup for me.
I totally agree with the wheels i was thinking about 20's but i thought they looked too big for the car so i went with 19's staggered , im glad i made the right choice!!
I have 20s on 35 side wall ,now a 30/ 25 side wall is harsh, an my wheels there ultra light an they ride an handle better than the factory 18s . But on everything else you mentioned I agree with
I’m keeping my engine/exhaust stock for now, and The only reason I’m debating a driveshaft, is I’d like to drop as much rotational mass as possible.. wheels and tires saved me 8lbs per, saving 20lbs off a driveshaft would put me around a 350lb static equivalent. (don’t know exact conversion from rot. To static) as well as a mid pipe to drop a few more lbs and sound better. But retaining factory manifolds/ active valve mufflers. Also, rather than bushings I went the steeda supports/ stop the hop, and didn’t sacrifice quality of the ride!! It feels great, and no extra noise/vibration.
My 18 Mustang GT Premium comes with the factory 20’s the ride is phenomenal. I had a 14 GT and that one came with the Track Pack 19’s and was also a great ride. It had summer tires and when I changed them to a all-season, the comfort went away. So I really have to say it’s the tire vs. the rim.
I bought a 2020 GT Premium in May. One of the things I don’t like is I feel every bump, and after watching your video I’m thinking maybe that’s why. I have 20’s all around. Am I wrong?? Also you are right that they look amazing with 20’s. If I could fix 2 things the intense bump feeling is 1. The other is every time I hit the bumps,The Hop is CRAZY!!!
Heres my opinion...1.I agree that headers aren't necessary but def recommend cat delete pipes such as the mak cat deletes; i did headers because I'm over 800rwhp 2. To say bushings as a general statement is misleading. I have the BMR cradle lockout bushings and they helped alot with wheel hop but I skipped the diff bushing inserts as they do cause whining. Cradle lockouts are a strong recommendation. 3. A driveshaft not installed properly can cause vibrations and excessive NHV; I have a 1 piece G-Force alumnium driveshaft and not noticed increased NVH. 4. I had a catch can when N/A and now boosted (UPR procharger catch can), it catches a ton of blow by oil. 5. I have 20's with 275/35r20 and 315/45r20 lowered on ridetech coilovers and it drives way better than stock; not to mentioned my p51 101rf wheels weigh about 22 pounds; performance bonus.
Good stuff stang! Been watching your vid’s for a while now. You and Zander13 have the best new generation mustang content out there. I’m still happy with my 18’ PP1 6-speed lightning blue with the less common 5 spoke wheels the PP1 comes with. On the road I’ve seen most PP mustangs have the black wheels, which do look good, but I prefer the other option 19” that are fairly rare to see.
When I had my S197 5.0 I did long tubes, did not notice any real difference. The tune was the biggest best bang for the buck. No duty my S550, just trying to keep the warranty lol
Dope that you're saying what mods we DON'T need, from the perspective of being someone who actually has them done to his ride. Don't really like when people try to preach about things they don't actually have experience with. Good stuff
The only one i can Debate with you on is the catch can. Catch cans are Designed to help stop most of the blow by oil that ends up on your valves that can Rob you from horsepower and Fuel Academy. Other then that i am with you 100%.
I agree with most of your don't do. I have 20's and they are fine. 18+ with gen 3 coyote, catch can is a waste of money due to port injection cleaning the intake valves. Suspension, I have Steeda progressive springs and the ride is very close to stock until you push it. Also added the stop the hop starter kit, this mod makes the car quieter and more solid and keeps it planted. I agree, DON'T DO BUSHINGS! Headers are a waste unless you are boosting for max power. You have nailed some of the mods people do that ruin their daily drivability.
I'm late I know, but advice. I got stock 2023 GT with six speed and Recaros. Bought on Oct 17, 2023 with 1965 on it. I have 5700 on it now. LOVE the Recaros! Now, I got the the stock suspension. I'm thinking about putting Koni STR shocks and struts on it. Or some other brand. The car gets a little...bouncey sometimes. Don't really want adjustable shocks and struts, just some that give a little more control. Maybe swaybars too. Love the car. I finally got one. I traded a 2020 Camry XSE for the GT. Camry had only 6000 miles on it. I had to jump at the chance to know a cool car, FINALLY. I'm retired and love driving. So anyway, there is my deal. Any good advice would awesome.
Agree with headers. Get a CAI, maybe a throttle body, H or X pipe, high flow bullet cats and if you don't like the stock active valve mufflers (if equipped) then borla or corsa mufflers. Agree with suspension except springs if you get a bit of a sloppy ride. Most dampers don 't hold up well with increased compression, you can actually blow your strut/shock seals, but changing some of the cast links and control arms, heavier panhards and strut towers, etc. to help with control - at ANY speed. Agree with driver's side can unless you're getting really heavy blow by. Unless you're adding a lot of power or want to reduce weight keep your drive shaft as is, they're heavy but strong....
For the Gen3 Coyote, FordPerformance did not offer a driverside oil-air separator, cause as you said, it barely catches oil. I did buy the passenger side FordPerformance for only $165 at Amazon that looks OEM with the factory looking hoses. It's a no brainer at that price. I empty it every half the time of my oil changes and I do get ounces of waste sludge. The reason why manufacturers dont include catch cans is because they don't expect non-gearheads to empty it... And we all know what will happen if it gets filled. #6 And I think, you also dont need aftermarket air intake for the Gen3
When it comes to mods, you almost have to learn the hard way. Back in the day, I learned the hard way and now I thoroughly enjoy my totally stock 2018 GT, except for the BBQ tick. The Ceratec onlly kept it quiet for a short time, so now I'm just going to live with the tick.
Thanks for the info! Just droped 50k on a used 2020 mustang gt from dealership, has 32k miles on it. Looking forward to checking out all your vids when I get time. Definitely subbed!!!!
These are the only mods a daily needs. 1. Roush Cold air 2. Roush tune (power pac 1) flashed by Ford Tech 3. x-pipe Ford performance 4. Lowering springs by Ford Performance 5. 19in wheels with 305 rear and at least 265 fronts (although if you’re happy with PP1 wheels and tires that’s enough) That’s it all you need and in the end guess what your car has about 25-30hp to the rear wheels and looks nicer and retains all warranty from Ford and essentially if you were smart and had it all installed by ford with documentation you might’ve even increased the value and maintained confidence to a second hand driver. Any other appearance mods are just bonus. But be careful not to make your mustang tacky looking. Remember too big or too much might look too stupid.
In my humble opinion, your suspension comments are indicating more the quality of the shop and install of bushings, headers ( only stainless headers are in the price range you quote ), and one piece drive shaft. I've had experience in all of these and I haven't experienced anything you have from properly installed parts. Philosophy side your opinion about full on drag racing.being the criteria, decide the history of hot forcing and the guy that enjoys open track a few times a year while enjoying being connected to the driving experience.Great channel. Do it for Dale!
My 2018 gt doesn’t have any mods. My main goal is gas mileage. I suggest if you want a car to modify then get an old car. I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE and it has some mods in the exhaust and one mod on the intake. I love driving it and it does get my wife’s approval so there you go. It has 124,000 miles on it and is ready to go anywhere.
You really don't need to modify your car especially if it will be a daily driver. Too many dudes think they need to add mods to the car to impress other people, but the truth is no one cares. It's better to have a sexy looking comfortable car (and the S550 takes the cake in the sex department) than one that breaks your back, legs, and wallet for the tiniest amount of gains, if any.
@@grantallen582 yep. It's weird for me with the cars vs bikes now that I think about it. I was so damn quick to mod my bikes, but very damn slow to mod out my cars. I have nice plans for the croc though
Well, you and seven others might not care to, but.... some people might love their ride but want little tweaks to make it more personalized to them. Thats one of the lamest things Ive ever read on this channel. More people used to take pride in their cars and do stuff to make it identifiable as theirs. Nothing wrong with that... To each their own. If you like running a stock car that is vanilla like everything else out there, right on.. People def care about modded cars. There is no shortage of car clubs and races these days to prove that. Shit what number fast and the furious movie are they on now? Those movies always have shocked me with how horrible they are and how many people want to see them time and time again..
I’ve never been a fan of bushings. Drove a car with them and knew it wasn’t for me. As far as hooking up I’d say people that daily their cars are better off with getting better tires first and you’ll see a difference on a stock car. For me having a 15 performance pack I’ve left it stock since I brought it Dec 14 and Im happy. My previous 2012 was modded and I got tired of the noise, stiff ride and heavy clutch. Now I just like cruising and will probably just add Ford Performance lowering springs and exhaust after my last payment this year. For me that’s all I need.
Vs. PP1 wheels, most 20's of similar width will be lighter. OD won't be much (if any different) if you stick with a similar size tire 275/40/19 vs. 275/35/20. So a lighter wheel, same width, with the same OD. The ride will likely be somewhat harsher, but everything else should be similar.
I agree with almost all of this Stangmode. Where I differ is on the 1 piece driveshaft. If you are going to be tuning the vehicle; I believe out of safety reasons the 1 piece is a must. Not strictly because of power reasons but because of the transbrake now being unlocked and available. I understand not everyone will use it but the combination of power (especially on E85) and temptation of 3500 transbrake launches the 1 piece is bordering on a necessity. If you’re going to drag race tuned, even casually, you need one. Thoughts?
I second your opinion about the catch cans. I have 2 of them on my 2019 Mustang GT and the driver side stays empty. The passenger side is always the one that fills up with oil.
I can tell you from experience 78 trans am put headers on 3months latter leak! 87 iroc camaro headers leaked 2005 c6 vette put headers on 8 months leaked. So i decided never put headers on any of the mustangs ive owned or do own now! had a 2014 gtcs prochargerd no headers never leaked and i wouldn't put them on my 17 roush ! They do have now stage 8 locking header bolts . But since the problems of the past im going to pass from past experience! And to tell you the truth from owning a vette the only way to achieve the handling on the mustang to feel like the vette on my 15 gt was 1 1/2 drop and performance shocks and biger swaybars. Plus wide tires 295 35 20 . But i do like like the road feel and being intune with what the car is doing. Most may not like that so its definitely a preference! Mustangs are a great car to suit different people's needs! Because u can build them up to what you desire.

Headers > Exhaust Unless the car has no exhaust at all, I don't see myself doing a muffler upgrade on my next Stang. I did shorty headers and a x pipe on a mustang and always got compliments on the exhaust and surprised everyone when I told them it was still factory mufflers on the car.
My 2020 GT came with stock 20' rims and it drives great. But yes tire walls are slimmer. They only come on certain packages but they perform great for a daily driver
Yep, been there an I agree with all your points. I ran 18's on my 11 to get a bit more sidewall due to the rough streets plus that size was a little cheaper than going with the 20's.
Funny I opted for factory 18 on my car for that same reason, plus I am still on stock tune. Waiting on a catch can passenger side only. On suspension upgrade front lower to the PP LCA and invested that money not spent on headers, wheels on an MPVI2 pro and a new laptop. Now I can data-log all day every day any time. and do changes as I see fit..

However, supposedly a good exhaust will increase power by 49hp and 82 lb-ft.
Oh yes when you get a Shelby the car needs nothing perfectly engineered congrats bro.
Tinted windows and maybe a air freshener and that's it.
I agree with what you’re saying because I learned that lesson the hard way. It wasn’t Mustangs, but the situation is the same. It is SO easy to keep modding, and modding, before realizing that you’ve ruined your ride for street driving. And it REALLY sucks if you’re still making payments!
Just reload the parts back....DUH!!!
This is why I’m happy mine is an automatic. It has paddle shifters which make it fun, but I’d lose my mind driving that car in DFW if I had a clutch. Instead it’s +800 HP monster that I drive everyday.
i just lowered my 2019 mustang gt with eibach sportlines, and i can take turns twice as fast and freeway entrance loops at like 50mph. it handles INSANELY better with springs just wanted to put that out there
Forgineer do you have any issues with clearance? (Speed bumps, steep driveways etc)
Same with my 19 with the Steeda progressive rate.
Glad you enjoyed
You don’t need to keep repeating yourself. That’s why we have rewind. Could have save 7 mins of my life.
Needs that money for a gt500 lol
Had to hit the 10 min mark, and just.
Have a v6 for 6 years and got 20s like last week and just seen this video I been thinkin they drive like shit compared to my 18s but they do look better
Great advice from a guy who has been there and done that.
Thanks for the insights man. We tend to get carried away with mods, as it's just fun to do. But it's really nice to hear the cons side. Hardly anyone makes a mod and then discourages you from doing the same. Stock doesn't always suck. Sometimes it's pretty damn good!
Even in 480p this still looks good.
You you pretty much got to have a tiled out screen for the GT350R not to look good
lol
I love that Ford looked at all the mods we made before and make it look closer to that straight out of the factory. I love the new Mustangs and I can’t wait to get one next year. For now I’ll keep on rocking my New Edge sixxer.
I am waiting on Ford to fix the front end
I have 20’ wheels on my roush jackhammer. Car rides so good and comfortable
That’s good to hear
I only have an '11 GT but I went with 20s thinking I'd get big brakes, and then it'd be ready for boost down the line, possibly.
StangMode but that’s probably cause my cars roush suspension is tuned for 20” wheels
I have 20's on my 18 and the ride is great. Also no magneride!
Roush suspension
Wilson Ramirez did you get the progressives? Also did you need camber bolts?
O Cruz hi I got the progressive springs. I did not need camber bolts.
How much better is the Barton shifter? Do you still get high rpm lockout? That's the one thing that really bugs me right now. 😠
Nice R
Here the owner likes dudes
Stang mode speaking truth! Full drag car or road course car by all means go for it, but I'll keep my street car street and comfortable
Agree
For suspension; BMR, Steeda, Ford Performance, etc. have kits that take out the guess work for the streets. Hell, the Ford Performance Track Pack is quiet, significantly improved handling, is very affordable and still quite comfortable.
God Bless
Yes and with a nice wheel hop
Man I am so scared of speed bumps and steep driveways lol
Zander got those headers in like it was a walk in the park... I give him a lot of credit.... I thought those headers we're good for 40 hp. As long as they don't rattle I guess.
Lol he better he’s installed them 3x on his 18’ My 18’ and now his 19’

18-19 inch rims are the best size for the s550
732 Stang definitely. I can’t do anything larger than a 19 on the mustang. Some 20s look good but to me it’s a little too big.
6ixSpeedStang18 exactly! There’s no benefit to having them. Added weight and you suffer in drivability!
Lol i bought 20 inch wheels cancavo brand i think they are aluminium and they are lighter than the stick 19 inch
ps31871 yeah wouldn’t doubt it, but if you got the same set in 19s or 18s you’d prob be saving even more
@@732Stang lol thats true but i got them for $90 each rim out of american muscle, they are $500 each rim in normal price
I agree, I have 20’s. 19’s def ride better but the 20’s look better. I have 305’s in the rear though so I still have plenty meat on the road.
I thought I was the only one who likes the standard springs from mustang
I’m glad I watched this video before I start modifying my 2020 GT 👍🏼
So question, what mods do you suggest for the daily driver looking for a little more performance?
#1 Dont do Anything Crazy tell your warranty is up lol🔴🇺🇸🔧👍
You're on point if you want a comfortable daily, but if you're looking for big power, the ground work you have done to Black Manba is what you do. Once you boost it, you better get a catch can system with check valves so you dont blow oil out various gaskets. Been there done that.
Just bought my 19 GT, thank you for this list. Saved me a lot of $$$ and time
Everything you brought up as far as not needed 💯%.
CA sucks....if you're making big boy power which you can't in CA...longtubes are necessary...maybe buy a Tesla?
I agree with headers. I've had them on other cars. My 17 is my first Ford. It's fine if it's your weekend car. Exhausts are money pits. I have a Corsa sport system. Sounds great but I know it didn't add any power. These cars make crazy power with boost and stock exhaust.
I have 20s on my super snake and they look awesome and drive perfectly fine. Catch cans work, mine captures lots of blow by, I empty it once a month. These are my only disagreements with you.
I agree with all but the 20 inch wheels. I have 20 s on mine and it rides and performs phenomenal. Great video.

I kept my stock 18's for winter. I have 20's for summer. I don't track. Daily driver only. Thanks for the heads up. I am getting lowing springs soon.
I bought my 2013 5.0 with all the work already done: Roush supercharged, kooks full exhaust, gears and aluminum driveshaft. Oh and 20x11 are necessary for the street
I recommend Whipple 3.0, Gforce one piece driveshaft, cradle lockout, eibach lower springs, and ticket saving Account ......

Wow ur good that’s next lol
@@Eric79-f7i Some dudes just don't actually listen to the video.
Totally agree. I have 20s and wished I had been patient and got 19s. Tires were out of stock when i wanted to order.
18s are the better than 19s imo
So I really have to say it’s the tire vs. the rim.
I’m giving up TV and just watching your TH-cams. Thanks for the ride.
Ha! Thanks glad you enjoyed
Agree 100% with you, thanks for sharing your opinion!
To be specific- DIFF BUSHING SUCK
@@StangMode most definitely and pair that with a 1 piece driveshaft, and nvh gets to clunker level.
I agree with the 20" rims. My 2015 came with them on it and yea they look awesome but for where I live they have been nothing but a headache.
Great video man. Most people aren't willing to be honest like this.
I absolutely concur with every option you mentioned. Thank you for your unbiased opinion here.
1. Roush Cold air
2. Roush tune (power pac 1) flashed by Ford Tech
3. x-pipe Ford performance
4. Lowering springs by Ford Performance
5. 19in wheels with 305 rear and at least 265 fronts (although if you’re happy with PP1 wheels and tires that’s enough)
That’s it all you need and in the end guess what your car has about 25-30hp to the rear wheels and looks nicer and retains all warranty from Ford and essentially if you were smart and had it all installed by ford with documentation you might’ve even increased the value and maintained confidence to a second hand driver.
"Defies" not Decides"
True. Complements almost every day in stock form.

@@Real_Redmist all facts! I believe F&F will be around when my grandchildren are pushing liths
Agree 100% with everything you said. My 19 is still stock and probably won't change a thing. I love the car.
Thoughts?
Bought mine with 20's. I think it looks n drives Great..do you recommend Ingen Cold Air Intake without Tune?
Tbh headers ain't that bad of a install you jus have to know what your doing and take it patiently. (Not saying you dont know what your doing)
Exactly everybody has a different flavor
Sounds like you have plenty of experience and have enjoyed many types of cars, Alex K. That's awesome, man.
@@dougfa3515 yes thanks i have been interested in cars since 17 i could remember dropping my rebuilt 400 Pontiac motor in my 78 trans am with my friend at 18yrs old. Im old now( 40s) but i never lost the passion for speed. Good luck on getting what ever car or cars you in joy! I worked hard and spent most of my money on them! (cars)

Took the words right outta my mouth .
The only modes i did to my pp2 was valve stem caps . Their silver instead of black. Im done mod-ing LOL
Headers > Exhaust
Unless the car has no exhaust at all, I don't see myself doing a muffler upgrade on my next Stang.
Thank you stangmode I recently bought a 2019 5.0 and the only mod I may install are lowering springs
