The visit of our Prime Minister to India is quite timely as Jamaica is looking to diversify our economy to focus on science and technology and given that India is a society that has integrated technology into its way of life and we are seeing improvements in quality of service delivery we here in jamaica can learn from India experiences. Thank you for hosting our Prime Minister at this time

India has a strong link to India via history (Indentured labor), people (significant portion of Jamaica's population), commerce (Who remember the TATA buses?),cricket etc. Glad that the PM visited to keeps the links going and developing.

Prime Minister Holness has not showed the type of interest or involvement in cricket like other prime ministers of the past such as Michael Manley and P.J Patterson before him. Tallawas no longer exist and cricket has generally declined during his tenure in Jamaica.

You didn't mention anything about supporting AFRICA for 2 permanent seats on the UN Security Council. I have no problems with india getting one, because I think they should. But why not mention Africa as well? And when are you even going to make some African visits???? Similar to india, Jamaica have very strong connection to Ethiopia 🇪🇹. WHY are you sidestepping AFRICA 🙄? ...smh

In visiting *Varanasi (demonym: Banarasi), India,* Prime Minister *Andrew Holness* said: “This is my first time with any sort of real and deep interaction with, um, uh, the *Buddhist* uh religion and the other religions that are formed from that [sic].
      […]
I have developed a deeper respect of the culture and *[Buddhism].”*
Shouldn’t he have done a bit more research on *India* and its religions before blundering like this? *Hinduism* is the preeminent *religion* of *India,* not *Buddhism,* and it is not a derivative of *Buddhism.* In fact, *Hinduism* is significantly older than Buddhism-it has roots going back over 4,000 years, whereas Buddhism emerged in the *5th century BCE.* When he visited *Varanasi,* the Honourable PM witnessed a *Hindu* ceremony-not a *Buddhist* ceremony. Imagine if *Modi* were to visit *Jamaica* and elevate *Rastafarianism* above *Christianity,* especially given the fact that *Rastafarianism* is not necessarily considered a *religion* in *Jamaica.*
