I joined the Jim Venetos academy not even 12 month's ago and have never hit the ball so well. Hit with a draw and handicap dropped in half...amazing as I regularly shoot 83 when I used to shoot 98!
Started to dabble with your technique recently and I am amazed at how easy it was to hit the ball...and hit it well. I put my clubs in jail a couple of years ago, but now, I think I can enjoy the game again. Thank you Mr Venetos.
The biggest task for me to master this was letiing go of the right hand & arm dominance in the swing. After years of having a right hand dominant swing it is amazing how hard it is to allow the the left arm to take command of the swing, but once you do it the results are amazing, Thank you Jim
I gave this a try tonight at the range after watching your video. Very happy with how it went, hit 80 balls and only one slice (I never was a big slicer, but looking for better compression and contact). Crisp and enough power, if any power is lost due to the lack of transfer from left side to right side then I didn't notice it. But I was compressing nicely and very happy with the consistence. Maybe this will be the method I finally stick with (in other words, it's all great now but let's see if I can forge through and stay with it after I have the inevitable sh*tty day at the range). I actually feel as though I can draw the ball at will, and I certainly never had that feeling before. Thanks Jim for posting, you're an excellent instructor with a nice natural teaching style!
Jim is a genius!!. If you struggle with over the top this immediately counters that by changing your swing path with the closed setup. I wasn’t getting the draws at first cause it’s an awkward feeling but once you realize that you can still hit nukes by letting the club do the work is insane. I’ve only really practiced it for 3 days now and already seeing a huge difference. Toughest thing is to make sure your shoulders don’t fly open before impact( over the top) but to be honest even with opening at times the ball went straight so misses are way more playable rather than a 100 mile slice. Thanks Jim !!
Excellent this takes some practice to get correct when I first started this swing I was slaming the club in the ground alot trying to get this concept correct a huge difference from now to then after 7 8 months of steady practice ive really made some good progress hope your well jim
Yes..the key is not to let the trail side try to take over in the downswing. That's been the hardest part. Stay closed with the shoulders...and let the lead shoulder drive the swing. I'm a lefty...so I have to think opposite...but it works..
Took the swing to the course today, I am very lucky on a normal day to have half a dozen really decent shots and that would be generous. Today along with a friend of mine who we both thought would give this a try I had nearly two dozen really good crispy shots, the first couple of times it was shocking I had done them on the range but doing them on the course is something totally different. What I discovered is that you have to make sure that your swing is shallow but not too shallow obviously, anytime I would come in steep I would almost arm and chest swing without being able to get my hips turned. When I shallowed the club on the right plane I didn't even have to think about using my hips the club brought the whole body around in the right position absolutely amazing this guy is absolutely amazing! So I am going to subscribe to his school for the next year if for nothing more to say thank you for showing me something that wasn't your standard awkward golf swing, quick fix in 10 hits or less or any other nonsense that we tend to try to learn off of TH-cam. This makes the golf swing so easy and if you follow his concepts you will be amazed at the results, I hope you will give it a try.
To add to the above, you have to find the right ball placement, it's different with this golf swing for me anyways, I had to move the ball further back and by about a golf ball length. If you're using the swing and topping the ball definitely move it back a little at a time until you find The Sweet spot, or forward if you tend to put the ball dead center for most of your irons.
@@jimvenetosgolf I just don't understand why this isn't taught universally throughout the entire golf world this is crazy...Thank you Jim, I'll be signing up tomorrow! My friend is joining too!

Ok...listen up. It is not an exaggeration to say Jim's Golf Academy is a game saver. Over the years my game suffered big time due to a fused lead ankle (poor weight shift) and 3 lumbar fusions (weakness and inconsistency). I have tried Single Plane and paid for many lessons without improvement. With Jim's UTube videos and individual coaching thru his Golf Academy my ball flight and consistency have improved significantly. My practice and play are fun again...and less painful. Just sayin...;))
Played my first round the other day & it didn't go as planned. Watching this just now I realized I didn't close my right shoulder like I practised all winter. Mamma Mia! The brain can desert one on the course. Next time out pull that right shoulder closed Carlo!
I am the very definition of old guy and still looking at golf swings. My old guy buddy sent me one of your eight million TH-cam videos. I thought to myself and told my dog Schatzie you are selling a tweaked version of a pull? We (old guys not the dog) were both determined to give it a try. I am a techno guy and your videos are nothing of the sort (by design) so we took that info to the coarse (no driving range for old guys) and gave it a shot with a weight on the left side 45 degrees to the target (look out homes on the right) and swing easy. Three holes in and it was working in that we only hit one house (nothing broken) Hole 17 we both hit the longest drives of our lives on that hole. We have both concluded there is very definitely something to the method you teach. Just wish I could see what your grip looks like, lines showing targets and your alignment in relation to said lines. Maybe that's the reason, we did pretty well with the info you provide and both us old guys thank you. Love your range it reminds me of "Tin Cups"
Hi Jim am such a fan 👍👍 agree with everything you say … but … i found trying to let the club fall and back to the target can lead to hips stopping and not rotating ..pushed or hooked shot…. As soon as i rotate my hips on contact ball flies straight and true ?
1:45: What do you mean concerning "driving my weight heavy heavy down through my lead foot". There are 70 Percent of the weight on the lead foot at the approach position or the "preset" of your methode. Is it like pushing a pedal of a car (at the start of a race) or is it some pressure shift concerning the lead foot. Or is it some kind of the squat move? If you want my opinion, it has to do with "loading the ground". I use your methode since three years. A few days ago, I recommended your channel to another golfer, seeing me practicing your distinctive methode. Greetings from Germany.
When you start the club in the downswing, the. initial move. is for the clubhead to create a force to move AWAY from the target for an instant. Now if. you have the weight in the left side, the backward force of the clubhead will tend to pull you off your left side unless you increase the pressure ion your left side to offset this clubhead force. So "stillness" is the result of successfully resisting this clubhead pull away from the target at the beginning of the downswing . The left side must work to maintain its position. WIthout that extra work the stillness will disappear.Does this make sense?
@@williamreichert4798 sounds like you’re over complicating what I teach. It ain’t that hard…if it were, I’d be a poor teacher and you’d have no chance of consistently executing the swing.

Oh, and people have already asked me about my swing! They're like "you're aimed really far to the right aren't you?" The ridicule stage LOL
Your not going to be long driving with his swing but the consistency makes up for it . You will hit a lot less bad shots . A lot of old man scratch golfers out there with 200 yard drives . Thats golf .
@@jimvenetosgolf Hi Jim. Same question. Do you swing “ground up” using the ground for leverage, feeling like your left foot pushing down initiates the downswing? Or the arms fall THEN the lower body or “hips”? Based on your last statement here the arms are passive, but you feel “torqued” at the top and you then just stay still and the club is pulled down by the resistance stored in the backswing?
