Just want to say for anyone wondering the school is well worth it. I recently joined after thinking I could learn this just by watching TH-cam videos but Jim provides so much help and information in his online academy. It’s really well worth it.
I hear you, but let me ask - I’ve been trying his swing at the range and my shots tend to go a bit right of where my feet are aligned so I rotate my stance a bit left being a righty. I wonder if others have this result.
@@bills303 alignment is a little tricky with this swing. As I do it I’m more figuring out how to align to get the ball to go where I want. As he says once you get a more consistent ball flight you will naturally begin to adjust how you need to stand to get the ball on a certain target line. I’m finding that to be true.
My biggest swing problem was coming over the top and toe-hitting shots. This swing, if done properly, fixes the problem. I'm still a work in progress, but so far, so good. Solid ball striking, improved accuracy, and added distance. Golf is fun again!
That’s where this swing can mess with you. I tried it by myself and was flushing it. Played with my buddies and I was trying to mash it and I was not having good results. This swing is so simple you don’t need any extra effort!!
I’m a little late to the party (40 yrs late) . I used your setup today on the course ! I’m blown away !!! So simple , yet so effective …. Actually worked the ball right to left . Thanks so much !
I’ve played for 18 years! Not a bad player. Hit lower to mid 80s. Always struggled with irons and this swing is so simple and easy. Not only am I hitting more greens my driver is straighter without losing distance. #nevergoback
gotta say, I first saw this golf video of couple of days ago and I pretty much thought this was BS. However, I believe in the stack and tilt method and this approach has many things in common. So, I went to the driving range today with my 8-SW and it just flat out works. A couple of mishits of course, but most of the shots were pure. I'm 76 years old and this is really easy on my body too.
Thank you for the insight and videos Jim. I struggled heavily with an over the top swing due to my 14 year baseball career. Your technique and swing has changed golf for me. I've broken 80 a few times and I have been consistently posting better scores. Namaste and god bless.
Jim, I love how you explain your swing and how different it is to the conventional teaching. I have tried it and it does make sense, it will need a bit of practice and me Trusting my body to let it do the right thing. I would love to hear you talk a bit about Moe Norman and if you have any opinion on his style?
I have tried his swing with about 100 balls at the range, ill say this if you slice the ball his swing will get you drawing / hooking it pretty quick! I couldn't get the distance I normally do but im sure thats me and not the swing. I now have the hook shot in the bag when I need it. its weird being a chronic slicer and seeing the ball go left.
Thanks Jim. When you say "weight is forward", just to clarify, are you meaning your weight is actually leaning forward down-range (e.g. towards the target), or is there also some lean/weight forward down/on-top-of/over the ball? Thanks again.
Pros are a different animal. Golf is the hardest sport period. If you’re a pro you’ve been groomed and have excellent talent. If you’re like 99% of golfers this swing will make you better and get you into positions the pros have.
I've watched loads of your videos and they are very interesting and answer a lot of my questions! However, you talk a lot more than you hit balls. If you watch very carefully your left hip does move forward a small amount AND it turns slightly too. To my mind that isn't completely still!. It is very interesting though.
There is also an amount of compression shift towards his right heel before he reaches the highest point of the back swing. It is a tiny implementation of the squad move. One of the big benefits of the preset of the hip turn like Jim does is: You don´t have to move your hips consciously to the aim like in tradtional Golf in order to initiate the down swing. It happens by letting the body collaps... or setting the tension free. I could hit a six iron approximately 120 Meter by a back swing length of ten o clock.
Best instruction on YT thanks Jim.

Does this actually work ..how about ball position?

Easiest way to hit a golf ball with this posture. No other manipulation needed.Thanks.
"Just be mindful not to swing hard." yes, I'm having to learn that & it works!

Really glad this video series was recommended viewing for me. My ball striking has improved 100% because of this guy.

Love your videos Jim. I remember practicing with a closed stance 20 yrs ago..interesting how it all comes back around..lol
Hi. Are you aiming the clubhead at the target before gripping which would give a slightly closed clubface to the swing path?
this guy keeps it simple. chili
When gripping the club after you set your pivot does the club face align with your body line or your end target line?
Jim, could you please do a session on a simulator and get some data comparison?
PLEASE ? Love from Australia.
Terrific! Thanks.
Jim where is your ball position say with a 7 iron? I seem to be hitting the ground first before the ball after pivoting the 45*

Well said Jim
It's been 3 years since I took the jim academy. Do you have any new content on your website since? I'm thinking about taking a refresher
Excellent
Also would love to see in action on the course Jim. Keep it up.
Thanks. I have a quite a few videos in my school displaying shots on the course.

If you're hooking the you're close but probably not staying closed through impact.
Hi Jim...do you have a strong grip? Do you have your right foot behind your left? Thanks.
Gerry
Right now? No, I’m sitting in a chair. I explain the technique thoroughly in my school.
Thanks Jim. When you say "weight is forward", just to clarify, are you meaning your weight is actually leaning forward down-range (e.g. towards the target), or is there also some lean/weight forward down/on-top-of/over the ball? Thanks again.
Weight forward as weight onto your lead, front foot. Similar to weight distribution onto your front foot when you are chipping.
Yes, weight on your lead foot in a heavy majority
@@jimvenetosgolf Thanks for clarifying Jim, really appreciated. Be well.
How about your hip movement. Do you rotate as well. Btw love the content.
Hip movement is explained in my school, check it out.
Jim, Your left wrist seems cupped on the backswing and at impact. What is the correct position? Thank you.
@jimvenetos
A couple flaws with your question. In my school I explain what happens with my hands and wrists in the swing. Sign up and enjoy.
Is club head at target at address
yep yep yep
👍
Why is it that none of the pros on tour have this swing?
